CPT Code Definition - PM

You can manage myAvatar CPT codes in myAvatar using the System Definition form. The File Import form can be used to import CPT code definitions. Once these rules are imported, they can be edited in this form.

Note: For more information see the myAvatar PM File Import Record Layout document (for the product version).

  1. Go to: Avatar PM > System Maintenance > System Definition

  2. In the Add New or Edit Existing field, select Add to add a CPT code, or select Edit to edit a CPT code.

    • If adding a CPT code, in the Code field, enter the code.
    • If editing a CPT code, in the CPT Code field, select whether to search by Code number or Description. Enter the CPT code or description, select a value from the Results list. When entering a CPT code number, enter the full code.
  3. In the Definition field, enter the CPT code description.

  4. In the Non-Specific Procedure Code Description field, enter the description to be used on the 837 electronic billing formats.

  5. Specify a Start and End Date, if applicable.

  6. Click File CPT Code.

If you want to generate the CPT Code Listing report, which details all myAvatar CPT code information, select the Print CPT Codes button.
