Introduction to LA Provider Integration

The myAvatar LA Provider Integration module is designed for mental and behavioral health care providers in LA County, who provide services to clients in partnership with the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (LACDMH). These Contracted Providers (CPs) are responsible for collecting and reporting clinical, financial, and administrative data regarding these clients and services back to LACDMH for reporting purposes. To avoid the need to enter this information twice, first within myAvatar , and then within LACDMH's Integrated Behavior Health Information System (IBHIS), Avatar LA Provider Integration collects the necessary data from PM/Cal-PM and LA Provider Integration forms, and exchanges it with IBHIS in real time via web services.

Benefits of the LA Provider Integration

  • Reduces/Eliminates dual data entry to the LA County IBHIS database.
  • Automates data transfer between the Provider System and the LA County IBHIS database.
  • Provides access to information from the myAvatar LA IBHIS system, without having the users log into the other system.
  • Reduced overhead for the provider systems.

The initial release of the myAvatar LA Provider Integration module will consist of the module itself and either Avatar PM 2014 Update 49 & 178 or myAvatar Cal-PM Update 33 & 124.

For WSDL Version V1502, this will also require “Avatar LA Provider Integration 2016” Update 1 & 2. For systems running PM, it will require myAvatar PM 2016 Update 027 and for Cal-PM, it will require myAvatar Cal-PM 2016 Update 017.

Integration Architecture

Data is collected from the CP's EHR system (Avatar) and sent via web services to the IBHIS through the LACDMH Integration Engine.

In addition, the same process is reversed via "Get" web services to retrieve certain information from IBHIS into myAvatar .
