Configure the Carequality Network for myAvatar

Carequality is a collaboration between private and public entities to create an interoperability framework among data sharing networks. Utilizing Carequality with myAvatar NX allows health information data to flow seamlessly between health networks and care providers.

Carequality Network
  1. In the Enable Carequality Network field, select whether or not to configure the Carequality network.
    1. Select Yes to allow Carequality information to be provided to CareConnect upon submission.
    2. Select No to disable the network.
  2. In the Enforce Consent field, select whether or not to enforce consent on the Carequality Network for HIPAA covered clients.
Note: This consent does not apply to 42 CFR covered clients. As part of agreeing to sign up and exchange information on the Carequality Network, consent is not required to share client information across the network for HIPAA standards.
    • Selecting No is recommended as it does not require your organization to capture individual client consent.
    • By selecting Yes, your organization is required to capture individual client consent.
Organization: Exceptions and Favorites
  1. In the Organization Name or ZIP field, search for and select an organization that should be considered as an exception or a favorite.
    • Exceptions are organizations that will not need consent granted in order for data to be queried out of your system.
    • Favorites are organizations that will be auto-populated when you perform a query out to the Carequality network.
  2. The Organization: Exceptions and Favorites table displays a list of all organizations identified as exceptions or favorites.
    • To remove a record from the list, select the line item and click Delete Row.

See the Carequality End User Guide for more details about consents.
