eMAR NX
Scenario 1: Administering and resulting an order with vitals data
Specific Setup:
- A pharmacy-type order code must have the 'Include Pain Scale In Avatar eMAR' field set to yes and must have "Blood Glucose", "Blood Pressure", "Temperature", and "Weight" selected in the 'Additional Data Elements To Require In Avatar eMAR (Administrations)' and 'Additional Data Elements To Require In Avatar eMAR (Results)' fields.
- A frequency code must exist that has scheduled administration times at "09:00 AM", "03:00 PM", and "09:00 PM". (3 TIMES A DAY)
- A client must have an active episode. (Client A)
- “Client A” must have a ‘Date of Birth’, ‘Sex’ and address on file in the ‘Update Client Data’ form, as well as information filed in the ‘Allergies and Hypersensitivities’ form, ‘Diagnosis’ form, and in the ‘Height’ and ‘Weight’ fields in the ‘Vitals Entry’ form.
Steps
- Select "Client A" and access the Order Entry Console.
- Search for and select "Order Code A" in the 'New Order' field.
- Set the 'Dose' field to "1".
- Set the 'Dose Unit' field to "Tablet".
- Select "3 TIMES A DAY" in the 'Freq' field.
- Set the 'Duration' field to "28" and click [Days].
- Set the 'Start Time' field to "12:00 AM".
- Click [Add to Scratchpad] and [Sign].
- Validate the 'Order grid' contains an order for "Order Code A".
- Click the 'eMAR' widget.
- Validate an order for "Order Code A" is displayed with "0900", "1500", and "2100" cells under the current date.
- Click the 'Click here to provider override reason' link.
- Validate the 'Wristband Scan Override' dialog is displayed.
- Select "Wristband cannot be scanned" in the 'Please provide a reason for not scanning the client wristband' field and click [OK].
- Select the "0900" cell under the current date and click [Administer].
- Complete 'Order Acknowledgement' and 'Client Education'.
- Validate the 'Administration Event' dialog is displayed.
- Fill out all required fields.
- Select the 'Additional Data (Administration)' tab.
- Set the 'Pain Scale' field to "5".
- Set the 'Blood Glucose (mg/dL)' field to "97".
- Set the 'Blood Pressure' field to "120/85" and select "Sitting" in the 'Position' field.
- Set the 'Temperature (Fahrenheit)' field to "98.6".
- Set the 'Weight (lbs/kgs)' field to "195" and select "lbs".
- Check the 'Accept administration information entered' check box and click [Ok].
- Validate the first cell under the current date contains the amount given and the administration time.
- Remain in the 'eMAR' widget and right click the administered cell under the current date and select "Edit Administration Event".
- Click the 'Additional Data (Administration) tab.
- Validate the 'Pain Scale' field has "5" selected.
- Validate the 'Blood Glucose (mg/dL)' field contains "97".
- Validate the 'Blood Pressure' field contains "120/85" and that "Sitting" is selected in the 'Position' field.
- Validate the 'Temperature (Fahrenheit)' field contains "98.6".
- Validate the 'Weight (lbs/kgs)' field contains "195" and has "lbs" selected.
- Select "7" in the 'Pain Scale' field.
- Click [Submit Edit].
- Remain in the 'eMAR' widget and double click the administered cell under the current date.
- Set the 'Result' field to any value.
- Click the 'Additional Data (Administration) tab.
- Validate the 'Pain Scale' field has "7" selected.
- Validate the 'Blood Glucose (mg/dL)' field contains "97".
- Validate the 'Blood Pressure' field contains "120/85" and that "Sitting" is selected in the 'Position' field.
- Validate the 'Temperature (Fahrenheit)' field contains "98.6".
- Validate the 'Weight (lbs/kgs)' field contains "195" and has "lbs" selected.
- Click the 'Additional Data (Results)' tab.
- Set the 'Pain Scale' field to "2".
- Set the 'Blood Glucose (mg/dL)' field to "82".
- Set the 'Blood Pressure' field to "122/80" and select "Standing" in the 'Position' field.
- Set the 'Temperature (Fahrenheit)' field to "98.6".
- Set the 'Weight (lbs/kgs)' field to "195" and select "lbs".
- Check the 'Accept administration information entered' check box and click [Ok].
- Remain in the 'eMAR' widget and double click the administered cell under the current date.
- Click the 'Additional Data (Administration)' tab.
- Validate the 'Pain Scale' field has "7" selected.
- Validate the 'Blood Glucose (mg/dL)' field contains "97".
- Validate the 'Blood Pressure' field contains "120/85" and that "Sitting" is selected in the 'Position' field.
- Validate the 'Temperature (Fahrenheit)' field contains "98.6".
- Validate the 'Weight (lbs/kgs)' field contains "195" and has "lbs" selected.
- Click the 'Additional Data (Results)' tab.
- Validate the 'Pain Scale' field has "2" selected.
- Validate the 'Blood Glucose (mg/dL)' field contains "82".
- Validate the 'Blood Pressure' field contains "122/80" and that "Standing" is selected in the 'Position' field.
- Validate the 'Temperature (Fahrenheit)' field contains "98.6".
- Validate the 'Weight (lbs/kgs)' field contains "195" and has "lbs" selected.
- Click [Cancel].
- Remain in the 'eMAR' widget and right click the administered cell under the current date and select "Edit Administration Event".
- Click the 'Additional Data (Administration)' tab.
- Validate the 'Pain Scale' field has "7" selected.
- Validate the 'Blood Glucose (mg/dL)' field contains "97".
- Validate the 'Blood Pressure' field contains "120/85" and that "Sitting" is selected in the 'Position' field.
- Validate the 'Temperature (Fahrenheit)' field contains "98.6".
- Validate the 'Weight (lbs/kgs)' field contains "195" and has "lbs" selected.
- Click the 'Additional Data (Results)' tab.
- Validate the 'Pain Scale' field has "2" selected.
- Validate the 'Blood Glucose (mg/dL)' field contains "82".
- Validate the 'Blood Pressure' field contains "122/80" and that "Standing" is selected in the 'Position' field.
- Validate the 'Temperature (Fahrenheit)' field contains "98.6".
- Validate the 'Weight (lbs/kgs)' field contains "195" and has "lbs" selected.
- Click [Cancel].

Avatar eMAR - eMAR Alerts - Order Code Setup
Note - These testing guidelines assume the user is skilled in the use of, at a minimum, the following:
Scenario 1: OE NX - File Import - Order Code Setup - Field Validation
Specific Setup:
- Avatar eMAR 2022 Update 35 and Avatar OE 2022 Update 77 must be installed in order to utilize full functionality.
- A file (File A) must exist that contains information in the following segments:
- 120th segment, which is for 'Microbiology'. (Must be a valid dictionary code defined in 'Order Entry Tabled Files' Entity Data Element #10299)
- 121st segment, which is for 'eMAR Alerts'. (Must be a valid dictionary codes defined in 'Order Entry Tabled Files' Entity Data Element #10367) Multiple values must be separated via an ampersand.(File A)
- The 'Avatar PM->System Maintenance->File Import->->->Import File Delimiter' registry setting must be configured appropriately to the file created.
- Please log out of the application and log back in after completing the above configuration.
Steps
- Open the 'File Import' form.
- Select "[Avatar OE] Order Code Setup" in the 'File Type' field.
- Select 'Upload New File' from the 'Action' field and click [Process Action].
- Select the Order Code Setup import file.
- Select 'Compile/Validate File' from the 'Action' field.
- Select the file imported from the 'File(s)' field and click [Process Action].
- Validate a message displays stating "Compiled" and click [OK].
- Select 'Post File' from the 'Action' field.
- Select the file imported from the 'File(s)' field and click [Process Action].
- Validate a message displays stating "Posted" and click [OK].
- Close the form.
- Open the 'Order Code Setup' form
- Select "Edit Existing Code" from the 'Add/Edit Order Code' field.
- Search for and select the order code created when importing the file.
- Validate the all information included in the file imported displays correctly.
- Validate the 'eMAR Alerts' field has the pre-defined options selected.
Scenario 2: eMAR - Display High Alert Indicators
Specific Setup:
- Avatar eMAR 2022 Update 35 and Avatar OE 2022 Update 77 are needed in order to utilize full functionality.
- Three dictionary values must exist within the Order Entry Tabled Files '(10367) eMAR Alerts' dictionary.
- 1 = "!! High Risk Medication !!" - pre-defined
- 2 = "*** Look-Alike / Sound-Alike Drug ***" - pre-defined
- 3 = "Testing eMAR Alerts" - user-defined
- A pharmacy-type order code must have all values selected in the 'eMAR Alerts' field in the 'Order Code Setup' form. (Order Code A)
- Please log out of the application and log back in after completing the above configuration.
- A client must have an inpatient episode whose program or unit are configured in the ‘External Pharmacy Setup’ form. (Client A)
- “Client A” must have a ‘Date of Birth’, ‘Sex’ and address on file in the ‘Update Client Data’ form, as well as information filed in the ‘Allergies and Hypersensitivities’ form, ‘Diagnosis’ form, and in the ‘Height’ and ‘Weight’ fields in the ‘Vitals Entry’ form.
Steps
- Select "Client A" and access the Order Entry Console.
- Create a new order for "Order Code A".
- Access the 'eMAR' widget.
- Validate the 'Order Description Column' contains all 'eMAR Alerts' selected.
- Access Order Entry Tabled Files '(10367) eMAR Alerts' in Dictionary Update under Avatar CWS.
- Select any dictionary code and populate all of the extended attributes for this code and click [Apply Changes].
- Access the 'eMAR' widget and click [Refresh]
- Validate the 'Order Description Column' contains all altered features for the 'eMAR Alert' selected.
