  • eMAR - 'Times/24 Hours' warning when exceeding doses in a 24 hour period.
A change is made to ensure the 'Times/24 Hours' warning is displayed, when appropriate, for non-interval Frequency Codes with no set hours of administration.
  • eMAR - Suppress 'Times/24 Hours' warning for Continuous Admins.
An extended attribute, 'Exclude from times per 24 hours warning', is added off the 'Administration Event' dictionary to suppress the 'Times/24 Hours' warning for IV-related, continuous administration events.
Included Updates
None
Product Update Form Description
Avatar eMAR is enhanced to allow the exclusion of an 'Administration Event' when checking the number of doses given in 24 hours. This is achieved via the 'Exclude from times per 24 hours warning' extended dictionary off of the 'Administration Event' dictionary (eMAR Tabled Files, data element 10000). This feature can be useful for certain types of orders where some recorded "successful" 'Administration Events' do not represent actual doses, as can be the case with continuous IVs. In addition, an issue is resolved where the 'Warning' about 'Times/24 Hours' being exceeded for a given order may either not be generated when appropriate, or may be generated when inappropriate.

  • 'Avatar eMAR - Administration Follow-Ups Generated By Reason Code'
Avatar eMAR is enhanced to allow 'Follow-Up Reminders' for an 'Administration Event' to be generated based upon an order's 'Reason Code'. This is achieved via three new extended attributes off of the 'Reason Code Setup' dictionary (Order Entry Tabled Files, data element 504): 'Generate eMAR Follow-Up Reminders', 'Time Interval For eMAR Follow-Up Reminder (Minutes)', and 'eMAR Follow-Up Reminder Heading'. In the event that 'Follow-Up Reminders' are also set to generate based on 'Order Code' or order 'Priority', the 'Time Interval' and 'Heading' will be determined as follows: 1) If only one of the configurations has a 'Time Interval' defined, then that 'Time Interval' will be used along with that configuration's 'Heading' (if defined). 2) If more than one configuration has a 'Time Interval' defined, then the configuration with the shortest 'Time Interval' will be used if the 'Time Intervals' are not the same. 3) If more than one configuration has the same 'Time Interval' defined, but only one configuration has a 'Heading' defined, then the configuration with the 'Heading' defined will be used. 4) If the configuration based on the order's 'Reason Code' is identical (same 'Time Interval' and 'Heading') to another configuration that also calls for a 'Follow-up Reminder', then the 'Reason Code' configuration will not be used to trigger the 'Follow-up Reminder' (the other configuration will be used). Note: Avatar OE 2022 Update 72 must also be installed in order to make use of this functionality.

Avatar eMAR 2022 Update 17
Product Update Form Description
Avatar eMAR is enhanced so that the "Give:" line within the 'Order Description' of certain pharmacy-type orders presents the 'Dose' both in terms of the dosage form and as an expression of strength. For example: "Give: 650 MG = 2 tablets every 6 hours, as needed" or "Give: 250 MG = 5 mL every 6 hours". This type of notation will be included when: 1) The 'Route of Administration' on the order is any of the following: "ORAL", "BUCCAL MUCOSA", "SUBLINGUAL", "GASTROSTOMY TUBE", "J-TUBE", or "TUBE FEED". 2) The 'Dosage Unit' ('Strength Unit') on the order does not contain either "%" or "-". ('Order Codes' for combination products list the strengths of the multiple active ingredients in the 'Strength Unit' field, separated by hyphens.) 3) The order was submitted from the Order Entry Console (Orders This Episode section) in "external pharmacy mode", or was not submitted in "external pharmacy mode" and the registry setting 'Use Pharmacy Fill Details For Order Description' is not set to "Y". (This type of notation will not be shown prior to the receipt of pharmacy fill details for a particular order, when pharmacy fill details are in use, because the pharmacy fill details can supply such a notation, and the pharmacy fill details can deviate from the original order, including the use of a different strength product.)
