Avatar eMAR - Filtering By Order Type
Scenario 1: Administration Events for 'Order Types' of "Pharmacy", "Dietary", and "Therapy" where 'Additional Attempts Planned' set to "No".
Specific Setup:
  • Must have a value in the '(10000) Administration Event' dictionary under 'eMAR Tabled Files' in the 'Dictionary Update' form under 'Avatar CWS' that has 'Successful Administration' = "No", "Additional Attempts Planned" = "No", 'Limit To Specific Tabs' = no value and 'Add Reason Dictionary To Comments' = "Required", and 'Require Comments' = "Yes". (TEST)
  • Must have a value entered in the '(10020) Event Reason' dictionary under 'eMAR Tabled Files' in the 'Dictionary Update' form under 'Avatar CWS'. (Patient Unavailable)
  • Must have a value in the '(500) Order Type' dictionary under 'Order Entry Tabled Files' in the 'Dictionary Update' form under 'Avatar CWS' that has the '(501) Order Type Category' extended dictionary attribute set to "Pharmacy". (Pharmacy)
  • Must have a value in the '(500) Order Type' dictionary under 'Order Entry Tabled Files' in the 'Dictionary Update' form under 'Avatar CWS' that has the '(501) Order Type Category' extended dictionary attribute set to "Dietary". (Dietary)
  • Must have a value in the '(500) Order Type' dictionary under 'Order Entry Tabled Files' in the 'Dictionary Update' form under 'Avatar CWS' that has the '(501) Order Type Category' extended dictionary attribute set to "Therapy". (Therapy)
  • The 'Avatar Order Entry->eMAR->Settings->->->Order Types Processed By eMAR' registry setting must include "Pharmacy", "Dietary", and "Therapy" order types.
  • The 'Avatar eMAR->General->Settings->->->Enable Specimen Collection Events' registry setting must be set to "Y".
  • The 'Avatar eMAR->General->Settings->->->Time Format Displayed in Avatar eMAR' registry setting must be set to "2".
  • A "Pharmacy" order type code must exist. (Pharmacy Code A)
  • A "Dietary" order type code must exist. (Dietary Code A)
  • A "Therapy" order type code must exist. (Therapy Code A)
  • Select the following order types from the 'Order Type' field in eMAR:
  • "Pharmacy" in the 'Medications' tab.
  • "Dietary" in the 'Nutrition Orders' tab.
  • "Therapy" in the 'All Other Order Types' tab.
  • Please log out and back in doing the configuration above.
  • A client must have an active episode. (Client A)
  • “Client A” must have a ‘Date of Birth’, ‘Sex’ and address on file in the ‘Update Client Data’ form, as well as information filed in the ‘Allergies and Hypersensitivities’ form, ‘Diagnosis’ form, and in the ‘Height’ and ‘Weight’ fields in the ‘Vitals Entry’ form.
Steps
  1. Select "Client A" and access the 'Order Entry Console'.
  2. Search for and select "Pharmacy Code A" from the 'New Order' field.
  3. Fill out any required fields and click [Add to Scratchpad].
  4. Search for and select "Dietary Code A" from the 'New Order' field.
  5. Fill out any required fields and click [Add to Scratchpad].
  6. Search for and select "Therapy Code A" from the 'New Order' field.
  7. Fill out any required fields, click [Add to Scratchpad] and [Sign].
  8. Validate the 'Order grid' contains the "Pharmacy" order, the "Dietary" order, and the "Therapy" order.
  9. Access the 'Avatar eMAR' widget.
  10. Remain on the 'Medications' tab.
  11. Validate that "Pharmacy" is still checked in the 'Order Type' checklist and that the order for "Pharmacy Code A" is displayed.
  12. Double click on any available administration cell under the current date.
  13. Verify the 'Order Acknowledgement' dialog is displayed and click [OK].
  14. Verify the 'Client Education' dialog exists.
  15. Select "Yes" from the 'Education Performed' field and click [OK].
  16. Set the 'Med ID' cell to the "NDC" of the order selected.
  17. Select "TEST" from the 'Administration Event' field.
  18. Click [View - Comment].
  19. Set the 'Reason' field to "Patient Unavailable".
  20. Set the 'Text' field to "test".
  21. Click [OK].
  22. If there are any warnings, populate the 'Override Reason' field.
  23. Click the 'Accept administration information entered' check box.
  24. Click [OK].
  25. Validate the cell selected under the current date contains "TEST" as well as "the time of the attempted administration".
  26. Uncheck "Pharmacy" from the 'Order Type' field and validate the order for "Pharmacy Code A" is no longer shown in the eMAR grid.
  27. Click the 'Nutrition Orders' tab.
  28. Validate that "Dietary" is still checked in the 'Order Type' checklist and that the order for "Dietary Code A" is displayed.
  29. Double click in any available cell under the current date.
  30. Verify the 'Order Acknowledgement' dialog is displayed and click [OK].
  31. Verify the 'Client Education' dialog exists.
  32. Select "Yes" from the 'Education Performed' field and click [OK].
  33. Set the 'Administration Event' field to "TEST".
  34. Click [View - Comment].
  35. Select "Patient Unavailable" from the 'Reason' field.
  36. Set the 'Text' field to "test".
  37. Click [OK].
  38. Click the 'Accept administration information entered' check box and click [OK].
  39. Validate that the cell that was selected contains "TEST" as well as "the time of the attempted administration".
  40. Click the 'All Other Order Types' tab.
  41. Validate that "Therapy" is still checked in the 'Order Type' checklist and that the order for "Therapy Code A" is displayed.
  42. Double click in any available cell under the current date.
  43. Verify the 'Order Acknowledgement' dialog is displayed and click [OK].
  44. Verify the 'Client Education' dialog exists.
  45. Select "Yes" from the 'Education Performed' field and click [OK].
  46. Set the 'Administration Event' field to "TEST".
  47. Click [View - Comment].
  48. Select "Patient Unavailable" from the 'Reason' field.
  49. Set the 'Text' field to "test".
  50. Click [OK].
  51. Click the 'Accept administration information entered' check box and click [OK].
  52. Validate that the cell that was selected contains "TEST" as well as "the time of the attempted administration".
  53. Click the 'Medications' tab.
  54. Validate that "Pharmacy" is still unchecked in the 'Order Type' field and that no pharmacy type order codes are present in the eMAR grid.

Scenario 1: Validate selected client in context launching a Form from the "Browse Forms" button
Specific Setup:
  • Have two active clients on the system [ClientA] and [ClientB]
  • User has the "My Clients" widget on their home view
  • User has access to the "Progress Note (Group and Individual)" form and any client based form, for example the "Update Client Data" form
Steps
  1. In the "My Clients" widget, search for and select [ClientA]
  2. Validate [ClientA] is selected highlighted in the "Recent Clients" list
  3. Double click on the [ClientA] to open "Chart"
  4. Validate the name of [ClientA] is displayed in the "Chart" header
  5. Under the header, click the "Browse Forms" (+) button
  6. In the "Search Forms" field search for "Progress Note (Group and Individual)" form
  7. Validate the "Select Client" field is populated with [ClientA]
  8. Validate the client header reflects information for [ClientA]
  9. Populate the desired fields on the form
  10. Click [File Note]
  11. Validate submission is successful
  12. In the "Select Client" field, select [ClientB]
  13. Validate the name of [ClientB] is displayed in the client header section
  14. Close the form
  15. At the home view, validate [ClientA] is still selected highlighted in the "Recent Clients" list
  16. At the home view select and open form "Update Client Data"
  17. Validate [ClientA] is selected highlighted in the "Recent Clients" list
  18. Search and open the "Update Client Data" form
  19. Validate the name of [ClientA] is displayed in the client header section
  20. Under the header, click the "Browse Forms" (+) button
  21. In the "Search Forms" field search for "Progress Note (Group and Individual)" form
  22. Validate the client header reflects information for [ClientA]
  23. Populate the desired fields on the form

Forms launch

Scenario 1: Scheduling Calendar - Validate opening additional form(s) from an appointment
Specific Setup:
  • Have an existing appointment [ApptA] scheduled in the "Scheduling Calendar" form
  • In form "User Definition", a user has [FormA], [FormB] and [FormC] selected in the "Select Forms" field on "Appointment Scheduling" section of the form. (Note: This will enable the forms to be available for launch when a user right-clicks on an existing appointment)
  • The user has the "Forms & Data" widget on their home view.
  • In the "My Forms" section, [FormA] has been added as a favorite
Steps
  1. Open form "Scheduling Calendar"
  2. Locate [ApptA] on the calendar grid
  3. Right-Click on the appointment
  4. From the drop-down list, select [FormA]
  5. Validate the form launches successfully
  6. Click the "(+) Browse forms" tab to the right of form name tab, to bring up the "My Forms" window
  7. From the "My Forms" list, click on [FormB] to launch it
  8. Populate the form and submit the form
  9. Validate the form files successfully
  10. Navigate back to [FormA]
  11. Populate any desired fields and submit the form
  12. Validate the form files successfully
  13. Close the "Scheduling Calendar" form
  14. Re-Open form "Scheduling Calendar"
  15. Locate [ApptA] on the calendar grid
  16. Right-Click on the appointment
  17. From the drop-down list, select “Check-In” (Note: the form will open in a separate Avatar window)
  18. At the “Check-In” form
  19. Click the "(+) Browse forms" tab
  20. Search for [FormB]
  21. Validate the form opens successfully
  22. Navigate back to the “Check-in” window
  23. Close the “Check-in” form
  24. Return to [FormB]

  • "Treatment Plan" form console widget
  • "Progress Note (Group and Individual)" form console widget
  • [WidgetA] created that contains a link to launch a form [FormA]. For example, form "Discharge". [Note: form "Widget Wizard' using the 'Enhanced Widget View" functionality can be used to create the widget]
  • [ClientA] is admitted in one or more open episodes
  • [ClientA] has a treatment plan form filed in form "Treatment Plan"
  • [ClientA] has a progress note filed in form "Progress Note (Group and Individual)" form and a "To Do" has been generated
  • [ClientA] has a diagnosis filed in form "Diagnosis"
  • [ClientA] has an appointment scheduled [ApptA] in form "Scheduling Calendar"
  • In form "User Definition", [UserA] has [FormA] selected in the "Select Forms" field on "Appointment Scheduling" section of the form.
  • Log in as [UserA]
Steps
  1. Select [ClientA]
  2. Navigate to [WidgetA]
  3. Click on the link to launch [FormA]
  4. Validate the form launches successfully
  5. Close the form
  6. Navigate to the "My Calendar" widget
  7. Right Click on [ApptA]
  8. Select [FormA]
  9. Validate the form launches successfully
  10. Close the form
  11. Navigate to "My To Do's" widget
  12. Locate the To Do for the "Progress Notes (Group and Individual)"
  13. Click on the form link in the "Form" column to launch the form
  14. Validate the form launches successfully
  15. Close the form
  16. Navigate to "Treatment Plan" widget

  • Have any other client based form [FormB] also set up in "Form Designer" with widget [WidgetA] selected in field "Widgets to Display on Form". For this test form "Update Client Data" is used
  • Have two or more active clients on the system [ClientA], [ClientB] and [ClientC]
  • All three clients have data filed in table used in [WidgetA]
Steps
  1. Open the "Progress Note (Group and Individual)" form
  2. Select [ClientA] in the "Select Client" field
  3. Validate [WidgetA] reflects the data field for [ClientA], as expected
  4. Select [ClientB] in the "Select Client" field
  5. Validate [WidgetA] reflects the data field for [ClientB], as expected
  6. Populate all required and desired fields on the form
  7. Click [File Note]
  8. Validate the note files successfully
  9. Staying the form, select [ClientC] in the "Select Client" field
  10. Validate [WidgetA] reflects the data field for [ClientC], as expected
  11. Select [ClientB] in the "Select Client" field
