Note - These testing guidelines assume the user is skilled in the use of, at a minimum, the following:
  • Avatar eMAR
  • Avatar eMAR - Client Education dialog
  • Avatar eMAR - Order Acknowledgement dialog
  • Avatar eMAR - Specimen Collection dialog

Scenario 1: Specimen Site Tree - Orders This Episode and eMAR
Specific Setup:
  • A 'Specimen Site Tree Definition' must be filed for a 'Specimen Type' "Urine"
  • An Order Code (Order Code A) must be configured to have a Specimen Type of "Urine" be collected in the Order Entry Console
  • The 'Specimen Type' of "Urine" must be configured to have the 'Specimen Site' field required in the Order Entry Console - through the 'Dictionary Update' form for Avatar CWS - Data Element "Order Entry Client Information - Data Element "(10245) Specimen Type - Extended Attribute "Specimen Site"
  • Registry Setting "Enable Specimen Site Selection Tree" must be set to "Y"
Steps
  1. Access the Order Entry Console for any client
  2. Set the 'New Order' field to "Order Code A"
  3. Click the 'Order Code A' item
  4. Select the vendor destination configured in Order Code Setup from the 'External Lab Vendor Destination' field
  5. Select "Urine" from the 'Specimen Type' field
  6. Verify the 'Specimen Site' field exists
  7. Verify the [Select Specimen Site] button exists
  8. Click [Select Specimen Site]
  9. Verify the 'Specimen Site Tree' dialog exists
  10. Click the "Diversion" item
  11. Click the "Other (text)" item
  12. Validate the 'Other (text)' item is equal to required and enabled
  13. Set the 'Other' field to "test"
  14. Click [Enter]
  15. Click [OK]
  16. Verify the 'Specimen Site Tree' dialog does not exist
  17. Set the 'Duration' field to "5"
  18. Click [Days]
  19. Click [Add to Scratchpad]
  20. Click [Sign]
  21. Access Avatar eMAR
  22. Click the 'Lab Orders' tab
  23. Double click any valid cell for Order Code A
  24. Click [OK] on the 'Order Acknowledgement' dialog
  25. Select "Yes" from the 'Education Performed?' field
  26. Click [OK]
  27. Validate the 'Specimen Type' field is equal to "Urine"
  28. Verify the [Choose Site] button exists
  29. Click [Choose Site]
  30. Click the 'Diversion' item
  31. Click the 'Neobladder' item
  32. Click [OK]
  33. Hover over the [Choose Site] button
  34. Verify the tooltip displays "Diversion Neobladder"
  35. Click the 'Accept specimen collection entered' checkbox
  36. Click [OK]
  37. Double click on the cell for the specimen collection performed
  38. Hover over the 'Collection Site' field
  39. Validate "Diversion Neobladder" displays

Scenario 1: Specimen Collection of a Lab order with collection times.
Specific Setup:
  • The 'Avatar eMAR->General->Settings->->->Enable Specimen Collection Events' registry setting must be set to "N".
  • The 'Avatar eMAR->General->Settings->->->Time Format Displayed in Avatar eMAR' registry setting must be set to "2".
  • Must have a value in the '(10000) Administration Event' dictionary under 'eMAR Tabled Files' in the 'Dictionary Update' form under 'Avatar CWS' that has 'Successful Administration' = "Yes", "Additional Attempts Planned" = "No and DC OTO Order", 'Add Reason Dictionary To Comments' = "Yes", and 'Require Comments' = "No". (Test2)
  • Must have a value entered in the '(10020) Event Reason' dictionary under 'eMAR Tabled Files' in the 'Dictionary Update' form under 'Avatar CWS'.
  • Please log out and back in doing the configuration above.
  • Must have a Lab-type order code with the following information: a 'Default Duration (Hours)' of "48" and the following entered in 'External Lab Definition': 'Lab Vendor Name' = an 'eVendor', 'Specimen Type' = "Blood", 'Specimen Container' = "Blood Culture Bottles", 'Collection Volume' = "150", and 'Collection Volume Units of Measure' = "mL". This is done in 'Order Code Setup'. (CBC)
  • Must have a 'Frequency Code' with administration times of "09:00 AM" and "09:00 PM". (Twice a day)
  • A client must have an active episode. (Client A)
Steps
  1. Access the Order Entry Console for Client A.
  2. Set the 'New Order' field to "CBC".
  3. Select "Twice a day" from the 'Frequency' field.
  4. Click [Add to Scratchpad] and [Sign].
  5. Access the 'HomeView'.
  6. Access 'Avatar eMAR'.
  7. Select the 'Lab orders' tab.
  8. Select "Client A".
  9. Validate that the "Complete Blood Count" order is displayed with "TWICE A DAY" in large font, with administration hours of "0900" and "2100".
  10. Select the "0900" cell and click [Administer].
  11. Validate the 'Order Acknowledgement' dialog is displayed.
  12. Validate the 'Order Acknowledgement' dialog contains the top order description portion of the dialog with a 'Frequency' value of "TWICE A DAY" that is the same size font as the rest of the information.
  13. Click [OK].
  14. Validate the 'Client Education' dialog is displayed.
  15. Validate the 'Client Education' dialog contains the top order description portion of the dialog with a 'Frequency' value of "TWICE A DAY" that is the same size font as the rest of the information.
  16. Select "Yes" in the 'Education Performed' field and click [OK].
  17. Verify the 'Specimen Collection' dialog is displayed.
  18. Select any value in the 'Specimen Type' field. (ex. Blood)
  19. Select any value in the 'Fasting' field. (ex. Yes)
  20. Select "No" in the 'Client Refused' field.
  21. Select any value in the 'Specimen Container' field. (ex. Blood Culture Bottles)
  22. Select any value in the 'Collection Site' field. (ex. Right antecubital)
  23. Enter any value in the 'Collection Volume' field. (ex. 100)
  24. Enter any value in the 'Collection Volume Units of Measure' field. (ex. mL)
  25. Validate the 'Collection Date' field contains the current date.
  26. Validate the 'Collection Time' field contains the current time.
  27. Validate the 'Collected By' field contains the user description of the User who is logged into the application.
  28. Check the 'Accept specimen collection entered' checkbox and click [OK].
  29. Validate the 'Collection Time' is displayed in the cell that was selected.
Scenario 2: Recurring Lab Order with no specimen collection - Collection Canceled
Specific Setup:
  • In order to utilize full functionality the following updates must be installed:
  • Avatar OE 2021 Update 10
  • Avatar eMAR 2021 Update 5
  • Avatar CWS 2021 Update 32
  • Avatar CareFabric 2021 Update 22
  • myAvatar Client Update 2353-008
  • Must have CareFabric installed and configured.
  • The 'Avatar eMAR->General->Settings->->->Enable Specimen Collection Events' registry setting must be set to "Y".
  • The 'Avatar eMAR->General->Settings->->->Display Indicator When Administration Event Has Additional Attempts Planned' registry setting must be set to "Y".
  • The 'Avatar eMAR->General->Settings->->->Display Indicator When Administration Event Has Been Rejected' must be set to "Y".
  • The 'Avatar eMAR->General->Settings->->->Time Format Displayed in Avatar eMAR' registry setting must be set to "2".
  • Please log out and back in doing the configuration above.
  • Must have a Lab-type order code with the following information: a 'Default Duration (Hours)' of "48" and the following entered in 'External Lab Definition': 'Lab Vendor Name' = an 'eVendor', 'Specimen Type' = "Blood", 'Specimen Container' = "Blood Culture Bottles", 'Collection Volume' = "150", and 'Collection Volume Units of Measure' = "mL". This is done in 'Order Code Setup'. (Complete Blood Count)
  • A 'Frequency Code' must exist with hours of administration of "09:00 AM", "02:00 PM" and "09:00 PM", (3 TIMES A DAY)
  • Must have a Results file to import.
  • A client must have an active episode (Client A)
Steps
  1. Select "Client A" and access the 'Order Entry Console.
  2. Remain on 'Orders This Episode'.
  3. Set the 'New Order' field to "Complete Blood Count".
  4. Select "3 Times A Day" in the 'Frequency' field.
  5. Validate the 'External Lab Vendor Destination' field contains the 'eVendor' associated with the order code.
  6. Validate the 'Communication Method' checkbox is checked.
  7. Validate the 'Specimen Type' field contains "Blood".
  8. Click [Select Specimen Site].
  9. Validate the 'Specimen Site' dialog is displayed.
  10. Set the 'Other' field to any value.
  11. Click [Enter]
  12. Validate that 'Site' has the value entered in the 'Other' field above the 'Search' field.
  13. Click [OK].
  14. Validate the 'Specimen Site' field contains the value entered.
  15. Validate the 'Specimen Collection' field has "Lab Vendor Staff Will Collect" selected.
  16. Validate the Duration field is equal to "48" and that [Hours] is selected.
  17. Validate that the 'Start Date' field contains the current date.
  18. Validate that the 'Start Time' field contains the current time.
  19. Set the 'Start Time' field to "0000" and press Tab.
  20. Validate the 'Start Time' field contains "12:00 AM".
  21. Validate the 'Stop Date' field contains a date that is 2 days in the future of the 'Start Date'.
  22. Validate that the 'Stop Time' field contains a time that is one minute prior than the 'Start Time'.
  23. Click [Add to Scratchpad] and [Sign].
  24. Validate the 'Order grid' contains an order for "Complete Blood Count" with no value in 'Last Activity'.
  25. Select the 'eMAR' widget
  26. Select the 'Lab Orders' tab.
  27. Validate that an order for "Complete Blood Count" is displayed and that it has administration hours of "0900", "1400" and "2100" under the current date.
  28. Select 'HomeView' and deselect "Client A".
  29. Access the CareFabric Monitor'
  30. Set the 'From Date' to the current date.
  31. Set the 'Through Date' to the current date.
  32. Set the 'Client ID' to Client A's 'PATID".
  33. Select "Out" in the 'Activity Direction' field.
  34. Set the 'Event/Action Search' field to "LaboratoryOrderCreated" and select the 'LaboratoryOrderCreated' with a 'Direction' of "Out".
  35. Set the 'Event/Action Search' field to "LaboratoryOrderCreated" and select the 'LaboratoryOrderUpdated' with a 'Direction' of "Out".
  36. Validate that "LaboratoryOrderCreated" and "LaboratoryOrderUpdated" appear in the 'Selected Events/Actions' field with a check mark in each check box.
  37. Click [View Activity Log].
  38. Validate that the 'CareFabric Monitor Report' is displayed.
  39. Navigate through the messages and find the message that contains a 'scheduledCollectionDate' that equals "[current date in the format of YYYY-MM-DD]T14:00:00.000--##:##" this is the Scheduled Administration date and time.
  40. Then find the 'orderNumber:id' value (4935-4). This will be utilized in the 'Result' file.
  41. Close the report and the form.
  42. Make any edits to the 'Results' file that are needed.
  43. Access the 'Results Importing' form.
  44. Set the 'File Path for Import' field to the location on the server where the files reside with the name of the file and the extension at the end.
  45. Click [Import].
  46. Validate that an 'Import Complete' message is displayed.
  47. Click [OK].
  48. Validate that the 'Results Importing' report is displayed and contains "Successfully Filed: 1".
  49. Close the report and the form.
  50. Select "Client A" and access the 'Order Entry Console.
  51. Click [Refresh].
  52. Validate the 'Order grid' contains the order for "CBC" with "Cancelled on [current date]" in 'Last Activity'.
  53. Click [Last Activity - View].
  54. Validate that the 'Activity History' dialog is displayed.
  55. Validate that there are two rows.
  56. Validate that 'Activity Event' is equal to "Cancelled By Lab" for row 1.
  57. Validate that 'Activity Description' is equal to "By: "HL-7 Interface" for row 1.
  58. Validate that 'Activity Event' is equal to "Specimen Cancelled" for row 2.
  59. Click [Close].
  60. Select the 'eMAR' widget.
  61. Select the 'Lab Orders' tab.
  62. Click [Refresh].
  63. Validate that the order for "Complete Blood Count" contains "No results available; Order canceled." as the 'Results Status' and that "Cancelled" is displayed in the second cell under the current date.
  64. Select "HomeView" and deselect "Client A".
  65. Create a report using the 'eMAR.emar_administration_data' table.
  66. Include the following fields: 'PATID', 'order_number', 'admin_event_value', 'scheduled_admin_date' and 'scheduled_admin_time'
  67. Filter the report using the 'PATID' column and selecting the "PATID" for "Client A"
  68. Filter the report a second time using the 'order_number' column and selecting the 'Order #' for the order that was created. This can be found in the 'Order grid' of the 'Order Entry Console' or within the 'Order Description' in Avatar eMAR.
  69. Validate that one row is displayed.
  70. Validate that 'admin_event_value' contains "Cancelled By Lab"
  71. Validate that 'scheduled_admin_date' contains the current date.
  72. Validate that 'scheduled_admin_time' contains "02:00 PM".
  73. Close the report
  74. Create a report using the 'SYSTEM.specimen_status_events' table.
  75. Including the following fields: 'PATID','order_number','status_code', and 'status_value'
  76. Filter the report using the 'PATID' column and selecting the "PATID" for "Client A"
  77. Filter the report a second time using the 'order_number' column and selecting the 'Order #' for the order that was created. This can be found in the 'Order grid' of the 'Order Entry Console' or within the 'Order Description' in Avatar eMAR.
  78. Validate that 'status_code' contains "X".
  79. Validate that 'status_value' contains "Cancelled"
  80. Close the report
Scenario 3: Recurring Lab order with specimen collection - Collection canceled
Specific Setup:
  • In order to utilize full functionality the following updates must be installed:

  • The 'Avatar eMAR->General->Settings->->->Display Indicator When Administration Event Has Been Rejected' must be set to "Y".
  • The 'Avatar eMAR->General->Settings->->->Time Format Displayed in Avatar eMAR' registry setting must be set to "2".

  • Must have a Lab-type order code with the following criteria: a 'Default Duration (Hours)' of "48" and the following information entered in 'External Lab Definition': 'Lab Vendor Name' = an 'eVendor', 'Specimen Type' = "Blood", 'Specimen Container' = "Blood Culture Bottles", 'Collection Volume' = "150", and 'Collection Volume Units of Measure' = "mL". This is done in 'Order Code Setup'. (Complete Blood Count)
  • A 'Frequency Code' must exist that has administration times of a 'Default Frequency Code' of "09:00 AM", "02:00 PM" and "09:00 PM", (3 TIMES A DAY)
  • Must have a Results file to import.and ensure that segment 'PID-2' and 'PID-3' contains Client A's "PATID", segment 'ORC-2' and 'OBR-2' contain the 'ordernumber' that came from the 'CareFabric Monitor' payload and that segment 'OBR-25' contains "X". Save the 'Results' file in a directory in which the file will be able to be imported.
  • A client must have an active episode. (Client A)
Steps
  1. Select "Client A" and access the 'Order Entry Console'.
  2. Remain on 'Orders This Episode'.
  3. Set the 'New Order' field to "Complete Blood Count".
  4. Validate the 'Frequency' field is equal to "3 Times A Day".
  5. Validate the 'External Lab Vendor Destination' contains the eVendor associated with the order code.
  6. Validate the 'Communication Method' check box is "Checked"
  7. Validate the 'Specimen Type' field is equal to "Blood"
  8. Click [Select Specimen Site].
  9. Validate the 'Specimen Site' dialog is displayed.
  10. Set the 'Other' field to "right central median vein" and click [Enter].
  11. Validate that 'Site' contains "right central median vein" above the 'Search' field.
  12. Validate the 'Specimen Site' field is equal to "right central median vein".
  13. Validate that "Lab Vendor Staff Will Collect" is selected in the 'Specimen Collection' field.
  14. Validate the'Duration' field is equal to "48" and that [Hours] is selected.
  15. Validate the 'Start Date' field contains the current date.
  16. Validate the 'Start Time' field contains the current time.
  17. Set the 'Start Time' field to "0000" and press Tab.
  18. Validate that the 'Start Time' field contains "12:00 AM".
  19. Validate that the 'Stop Date' field contains a date that is 2 days in the future of the 'Start Date'.
  20. Validate that the 'Stop Time' field contains a time that is one minute prior than the 'Start Time'.
  21. Click [Add to Scratchpad] and [Sign].
  22. Validate that the 'Order grid' contains the order for "Complete Blood Count" with no value in 'Last Activity'.
  23. Select the 'eMAR' widget.
  24. Select the 'Lab Orders' tab.
  25. Validate that an order for "Complete Blood Count" is displayed with administration hours of "0900", "1400" and "2100" under the current date.
  26. Double click the "1400" cell"
  27. Validate the 'Order Acknowledgment' dialog is displayed.
  28. Click [OK]
  29. Validate the 'Client Education' dialog is displayed.
  30. Select "Yes" in the 'Education Performed' field and click [OK].
  31. Validate that the 'Specimen Collection' dialog is displayed.
  32. Validate that 'Specimen Type'l is equal to "Blood".
  33. Select "Yes" in 'Fasting' from the 'Administration Event' dictionary under 'eMAR Tabled Files' in the 'Dictionary Update' form under 'Avatar CWS'.
  34. Select "TEST 2" in 'Collection Event'.
  35. Validate [Comments - View] contains a red flag.
  36. Click [Comments - View].
  37. Validate that the 'Comments - Reason' field is required and enabled.
  38. Select "Patient Asleep" in the 'Comments - Reason' field.
  39. Validate that the 'Comments - Text' field is required and enabled.
  40. Click [OK].
  41. Validate [Comments - View] contains a red flag.
  42. Check the 'Accept specimen collection entered' check box and click [OK].
  43. Validate that a message is displayed stating: "Missing Required Fields - Row1: Comment Text"
  44. Click [OK]
  45. Click [Comments - View].
  46. Set the 'Comments - Text' field to "This is a test for Patient Asleep".
  47. Click [OK].
  48. Validate [Comments - View] contains a green check mark.
  49. Check the 'Accept specimen collection entered' check box and click [OK].
  50. Validate that the second cell under the current date contains the time (in Military Format with an asterisk to the right, that the Specimen Collection took place), a comment indicator in the top left corner and a red round circle arrow indicator in the bottom left corner.
  51. Select 'HomeView' and deselect "Client A".
  52. Access the CareFabric Monitor'
  53. Set the 'From Date' to the current date.
  54. Set the 'Through Date' to the current date.
  55. Set the 'Client ID' to Client A's 'PATID".
  56. Select "Out" in the 'Activity Direction' field.
  57. Set the 'Event/Action Search' field to "LaboratoryOrderCreated" and select the 'LaboratoryOrderCreated' with a 'Direction' of "Out".
  58. Set the 'Event/Action Search' field to "LaboratoryOrderCreated" and select the 'LaboratoryOrderUpdated' with a 'Direction' of "Out".
  59. Validate that "LaboratoryOrderCreated" and "LaboratoryOrderUpdated" appear in the 'Selected Events/Actions' field with a check mark in each check box.
  60. Click [View Activity Log].
  61. Validate that the 'CareFabric Monitor Report' is displayed.
  62. Navigate through the messages and find the message that contains a 'scheduledCollectionDate' that equals "[current date in the format of YYYY-MM-DD]T14:00:00.000--##:##" this is the Scheduled Administration date and time.
  63. Then find the 'orderNumber:id' value (4935-4). This will be utilized in the 'Result' file.
  64. Close the report and the form.
  65. Make any edits to the 'Results' file that are needed.
  66. Select "Client A" and access the 'Order Entry Console".
  67. Click [Refresh].
  68. Validate the 'Order grid" contains the order for "Complete Blood Count" with "on [current date]" in the 'Last Activity' column.
  69. Click [Last Activity - View].
  70. Validate that the 'Activity History' dialog exists and that there are two rows
  71. Validate the 'Activity Event' column contains "Specimen Cancelled" for row 1 and "Test2" for row 2, which is the value selected in the 'Collection Event' field when completing the Specimen Collection.
  72. Validate the 'Activity Description' column contains "By: [Staff Member associated with the user who did the Specimen Collection] Specimen Type: Blood Fasting: Yes Site: Unknown Container: Blood Culture Bottles Volume: 150 mL" for row 2.
  73. Click [Close].
  74. Select the 'eMAR' Widget and select the 'Lab Orders' tab.
  75. Click [Refresh].
  76. Validate that the order for "Complete Blood Count" has a 'Results Status' of "No results available; Order canceled."
  77. Validate that the second cell under the current date contains the time (in Military Format, that the Specimen Collection took place), a comment indicator in the top left corner and a red arrow circle indicator in the bottom left corner.
  78. Create a report using the 'eMAR.emar_administration_data' table.
  79. Include the following fields: 'PATID', 'order_number', 'admin_comment_reason', 'admin_comment_reason_code', 'admin_comment_reason_value', 'admin_event_value', 'scheduled_admin_date' and 'scheduled_admin_time'
  80. Filter the report using the 'PATID' column and selecting the "PATID" for "Client A"
  81. Filter the report a second time using the 'order_number' column and selecting the 'Order #' for the order that was created. This can be found in the 'Order grid' of the 'Order Entry Console' or within the 'Order Description' in Avatar eMAR.
  82. Validate that one row is displayed.
  83. Validate that 'admin_comment_reason' contains "This is a test for PT Asleep"
  84. Validate that 'admin_comment_reason_code' contains "PT Asleep"
  85. Validate that 'admin_comment_reason_value' contains "Patient Asleep".
  86. Validate that 'admin_event_value' contains "TEST 2"
  87. Validate that 'scheduled_admin_date' contains the current date.
  88. Validate that 'scheduled_admin_time' contains "02:00 PM".
  89. Close the report
  90. Create a report using the 'SYSTEM.specimen_status_events' table.
  91. Including the following fields: 'PATID', 'order_number', 'status_code', and 'status_value'
  92. Filter the report using the 'PATID' column and selecting the "PATID" for "Client A"
  93. Filter the report a second time using the 'order_number' column and selecting the 'Order #' for the order that was created. This can be found in the 'Order grid' of the 'Order Entry Console' or within the 'Order Description' in Avatar eMAR.
  94. Validate that there is one row
  95. Validate that 'status_code' contains "X" for row 2.
  96. Validate that 'status_value' contains "Cancelled" for row 2.
  97. Close the report
Scenario 4: Recurring Lab order with specimen collection - collection rejected
Specific Setup:
  • In order to utilize full functionality the following updates must be installed:
  • Avatar OE 2021 Update 10
  • Avatar eMAR 2021 Update 5
  • Avatar CWS 2021 Update 32
  • Avatar CareFabric 2021 Update 22
  • myAvatar Client Update 2353-008
  • Must have CareFabric installed and configured.
  • The 'Avatar eMAR->General->Settings->->->Enable Specimen Collection Events' registry setting must be set to "Y".
  • The 'Avatar eMAR->General->Settings->->->Time Format Displayed in Avatar eMAR' registry setting must be set to "2".
  • Must have a value in the '(10000) Administration Event' dictionary that has 'Successful Administration' = "No", 'Client Refusal' = "Yes". "Additional Attempts Planned" = "Yes", 'Add Reason Dictionary To Comments' = "Yes", and 'Require Comments' = "No". (Test5)

Steps
  1. Open the 'Patient Ledger' form.
  2. Validate the Option label is equal to "Patient Ledger".
  3. Validate "Patient Ledger Report" in left navigation bar.
  4. Validate the 'Patient ID' exists.
  5. Click [Close Form].
  6. Open the 'Patient Health Maintenance' form.
  7. Validate the Option label is equal to "Patient Health Maintenance".
  8. Validate the 'Patient ID' field exists.
  9. Click [Close Form].
  10. Open the 'Master Patient Inquiry' form.
  11. Select any patient in the 'Select Patient' field.

Note - These testing guidelines assume the user is skilled in the use of, at a minimum, the following:

Scenario 1: Validate appending to a Progress Note via the "Console Widget Viewer"
Specific Setup:
  • Have two users, "User1" and "User2"
  • Have a progress note form with document routing enabled
  • Have console widget created for the progress note form using "Console Widget Configuration" form
  • Have the progress note console widget, the "Console Widget Viewer" and the "My To Do's" widget added to both of the user's home view
  • Have registry setting "Limit Append to Original Author" set to "Y"
  • Have a desired client [ClientA], that will be used for testing
Steps
  1. Log in as "User1"
  2. Open the progress note form
  3. Select [ClientA]
  4. Populate all the desired fields on the form
  5. Click [Final]
  6. Click [Submit]
  7. Route the document
  8. In the "My To Do's Widget", click to approve the document just submitted
  9. Select [ClientA] in the 'Search Clients' box of the home screen
  10. Select "All Episodes" in the 'Episode' list at the top of the home screen

  • Configuration set on "ClientEventProcessor" is enabled in MedNote admin tool for MedNote to automatically switch client context
Steps
  1. Login to Avatar as a Provider.
  2. Select client A and select the MedNote widget.
  3. Validate the "Facesheet" tab is displayed for client A.
  4. Validate that client A is selected in "Recent Clients" widget.
  5. Open "Vitals Entry" Avatar form and validate that the form is displayed for client A.
  6. Add a vitals entry and submit the "Vitals Entry" Avatar form.

Specific Setup:
  • Have a system configured by Netsmart for "(NIAM) Netsmart’s Identity and Access Management" functionality
  • Have user configured with an "External Login" (EID) user name in form "User Definition" and their login set up to require "Two Factor Authentication"
  • Have an "(ODIC) Identity Provider" solution that will be used in conjunction with Avatar to authenticate the user set up as an "EID" user in Avatar. (Netsmart uses "OKTA" as the provider that will be used to launch a web browser authentication screen prior to logging into Avatar)
  • Netsmart has enabled the user's login for "Two Factor Authentication " using "SMS Authentication"
Steps
  1. At the "Avatar" login screen, select the server
  2. Click the [Login with Enterprise Credentials] button
  3. At the "External Provider Login" screen, populate the "Email" prompt with users external login ID
  4. Populate the "Password" prompt
  5. Click [Sign In]
  6. At the "SMS Authentication" screen, click [Send Code]
  7. Retrieve the code and enter it in the "Enter Code" field

  • Please log out and back in doing the configuration above.
