ProviderConnect 'Add New Client/Client Search' Form
Note - These testing guidelines assume the user is skilled in the use of, at a minimum, the following:
- ProviderConnect - Add New Client/Client Search
Scenario 1: ProviderConnect 'Add New Client/Client Search' - Verification of search results generation
Specific Setup:
- 'Add New Client/Client Search', 'Create Avatar Admission' and 'View Avatar Admission' permissions must be assigned to user/access group
Steps
- From ProviderConnect Main Menu, navigate to 'Add New Client/Client Search' form.
- Enter value for applicable search criteria and click 'Search' button.
- Ensure that if search criteria matches one or more client record(s) in the connected myAvatar and/or ProviderConnect system, client record(s) are displayed in 'Search Results' section of form (with ability to click 'ID' link to enter existing client record or 'Admission' form to enter new Admission record for existing client conditionally based on user permissions).
- Ensure that if search criteria does not match any existing client record in the connected myAvatar and/or ProviderConnect system, 'No Clients Found' message is displayed (along with the 'Create Admission for New Client' button conditionally based on user permissions).

ProviderConnect 'Manage Users' Administrative Utility
Note - These testing guidelines assume the user is skilled in the use of, at a minimum, the following:
- Manage Users (ADMIN LOGIN)
- Change Password
- ProviderConnect Login
Scenario 1: ProviderConnect 'Manage Users' Administrative Utility - Verification of username entry/edit
Specific Setup:
- Administrative-level ProviderConnect User
- 'Manage Users' permission must be assigned to user/access group
Steps
- From ProviderConnect Main Menu, navigate to 'Utilities' menu for Administrative-level utilities.
- Click 'Manage Users' link.
- Select agency value in 'Choose Agency' field.
- Click 'Create New User' button (or select existing username and click 'Edit User' button).
- Ensure that the 'Username' field allows up to 100 characters for entries.
- In the following fields, ensure that special characters (examples: '!', '#', '$') are not permitted for entry:
- 'Username'
- 'First Name'
- 'Last Name'
- 'Avatar User ID for Internal Client Consent'
- Enter values for required/desired user management fields, and click 'Save' button to save new or updated user information.
Scenario 2: ProviderConnect 'Change Password' - Verify display of 'Temporary Password' error message
Specific Setup:
- ProviderConnect username with temporary password currently assigned (so that user is forced/redirected to 'Change Password' form on system login)
Steps
- Login to ProviderConnect system under username with a temporary password currently assigned. (This will force/redirect user to 'Change Password' form on system login.)
- In the 'Change Password' form, ensure that message 'Your password is temporary. Please change your password in order to continue' is correctly displayed at top of form.
Scenario 3: ProviderConnect 'Change Password' - Verify display of 'Expired Password' error message
Specific Setup:
- ProviderConnect username with expired password (so that user is forced/redirected to 'Change Password' form on system login)
Steps
- Login to ProviderConnect system under username with an expired password. (This will force/redirect user to 'Change Password' form on system login.)
- In the 'Change Password' form, ensure that message 'Your password has expired' is correctly displayed at top of form.
Scenario 4: ProviderConnect - Verification of System Login/Logout
Steps
- Navigate to ProviderConnect system login form.
- Enter username/password for login, and click 'Login' button (or login/authenticate through external SSO application if employed).
- Ensure that with valid username/password combination (or successful external SSO authentication), user is successfully logged into ProviderConnect system (evidenced by proceeding to agency selection form (if applicable), security warning/news forms to main menu).
- Ensure that with invalid username/password combination, user is not logged into ProviderConnect system and error message noting 'Your login attempt was invalid' is displayed.
- While logged into ProviderConnect system - click 'Log Out' link in top menu bar to log out of system (or halt form navigation/entry inactivity for period sufficient for session timeout); ensure user is presented with message noting 'You have been logged out, either intentionally or because your session timed out'.
