OE NX - Order Entry Console - Pharmacy Search
Note - These testing guidelines assume the user is skilled in the use of, at a minimum, the following:
Scenario 1: OE NX - Orders This Episode - non-controlled substance - Maximum Eventual Order Duration extended attribute - New, Renew and Discontinue - eRx - external pharmacy mode
Specific Setup:
- The '(525) Maximum Eventual Order Duration' extended attribute off of the Order Entry Tabled Files '(500) Order Types' dictionary must be set to "365" for "Pharmacy".
- Please log out of the application and log back in after completing the above configuration.
- A client must have an active inpatient episode whose program or unit is configured in the 'External Pharmacy Setup' form. (Client A).
- “Client A” must have a ‘Date of Birth’, ‘Sex’ and address on file in the ‘Update Client Data’ form, as well as information filed in the ‘Allergies and Hypersensitivities’ form, ‘Diagnosis’ form, and in the ‘Height’ and ‘Weight’ fields in the ‘Vitals Entry’ form.
Steps
- Select "Client A" and access the Order Entry Console.
- Remain on 'Orders This Episode'.
- In the 'New Order' field, create a non-controlled substance, pharmacy type order (Order A).
- Set the 'Duration' field to "366" and click [Days].
- Populate remaining required fields.
- Click [Add to Scratchpad], [Final Review], and [Sign].
- Validate a message is displayed stating: The order for "Order A" has the following issue: Duration cannot exceed 365 days. This maximum duration is the 'Maximum Eventual Order Duration' for this 'Order Type'.
- Click [OK].
- Select the order in the 'Scratchpad'.
- Set the 'Duration' field to "365" and validate that [Days] is selected.
- Click [Update Order] and [Final Review].
- Validate there is a 'Change' link next to the 'Pharmacy' field.
- Click the 'Change' link
- Search for and select any pharmacy and click [Select] and [Sign].
- Validate the 'Order grid' contains the order for "Order A".
- Select the order and click [Renew].
- Set the 'Renew' field to "366" and click [Days].
- Click [Add to Scratchpad] and [Sign].
- Validate a message is displayed stating: The order for "Order A" has the following issue: Duration cannot exceed 365 days. This maximum duration is the 'Maximum Eventual Order Duration' for this 'Order Type'.
- Click [OK].
- Select the order in the 'Scratchpad'.
- Set the 'Renew' field to "365" and validate that [Days] is selected.
- Click [Update Order] and [Sign].
- Validate the 'Order grid' contains the order for "Order A".
- Select the order and click [D/C], [Add to Scratchpad] and [Final Review].
- Validate the 'Final Review' dialog is displayed and click [Sign].
- Validate the 'Order grid' contains no orders.
Scenario 2: NX - Admission Med Reconciliation - eRx not allowed for non-controlled substances when no Client Address is found - external pharmacy mode
Specific Setup:
- A client must have an active inpatient episode whose program or unit is configured in the 'External Pharmacy Setup' form. (Client A).
- “Client A” must have a ‘Date of Birth’and ‘Sex’ on file in the ‘Update Client Data’ form, as well as information filed in the ‘Allergies and Hypersensitivities’ form, ‘Diagnosis’ form, and in the ‘Height’ and ‘Weight’ fields in the ‘Vitals Entry’ form.
Steps
- Select "Client A" and access the Order Entry Console.
- Click the 'Home Medications' tab and create an order.
- Click on the 'Admission Med Reconciliation' tab.
- Select the order in the 'Home Medications (Pre-Admission)' order grid and click [Add to Scratchpad].
- Select the order in the 'Inpatient Medications (Scratchpad)', populate any required fields and click [Add to Scratchpad] and [Reconcile and Review].
- Validate that "eRX" is disabled in the 'Output' column.
- Click the magnifying glass in the 'Pharmacy' cell.
- Search for and select any pharmacy and click [Select] and [Sign].
- Validate the 'Admission Med Reconciliation' tab displays in view only mode.
