eMAR - Incremental Scanning - improved automatic order selection
Note - These testing guidelines assume the user is skilled in the use of, at a minimum, the following:
  • Avatar eMAR
  • eMAR widget
  • Orders This Episode
Scenario 1: Incremental Barcode Scanning - Strict match on the 'Micromedex Composite Generic ID'
Specific Setup:
  • The 'Avatar Order Entry->Facility Defaults->General->->->Use Netsmart Cloud-hosted Micromedex data' registry setting must be set to "N".
  • The 'Avatar eMAR->General->Settings->->->Enable Incremental Scanning/Defaulting Medication Quantity' registry setting must be set to "2".
  • The 'Avatar eMAR->General->Settings->->->Enable Medication And Quantity Checking' registry setting must be set to "3"
  • A client must have an active episode with two active orders for the same drug but with different strengths and the same 'Route' and 'Dosage Form':
  • AMBIEN 10 MG TABLET ORAL (Schedule IV) 1 Tablet EVERY DAY with an administration time within 60 minutes of the current time
  • AMBIEN 5 MG TABLET ORAL (Schedule IV) 1 Tablet EVERY DAY with an Administration time within 60 minutes of the current time
  • Both order must have Order Acknowledgment and Client Education completed.
  • Must have a barcode for "AMBIEN 10 MG TABLET ORAL (Schedule IV)"
Steps
  1. Access 'Avatar eMAR' and select "Client A" in the 'Client' field.
  2. Validate both AMBIEN orders are displayed.
  3. Scan the barcode for "AMBIEN 10 MG TABLET ORAL (Schedule IV)".
  4. Validate a cell for the current administration window is selected with "1/1 Tablet" for the 10 MG order.
  5. Scan the barcode for "AMBIEN 5 MG TABLET ORAL (Schedule IV)".
  6. Validate a cell for the current administration window is selected with "1/1 Tablet" for the 5 MG order.
  7. Click [Administer].
  8. Populate the required fields and click [OK].
  9. Validate both cells selected display "1 Tablet" and the administration time.

Note - These testing guidelines assume the user is skilled in the use of, at a minimum, the following:

Scenario 1: eMAR - Administering an order and entering a Result for an order with vitals, editing the vitals and voiding the vitals
Specific Setup:
  • The 'Avatar eMAR->General->Settings->->->Use separate 'Infusion Details' tab for IVs on eMAR Administration Event dialog' registry setting must be set to "Y".
  • The 'Avatar eMAR->General->Settings->->->'Require client wristband scan in Avatar eMAR' registry setting must be set to "Y".
  • The 'POC Results Entry Configuration' form must have an observation defined that has a value selected in the 'Save as Vital Sign' field, a test defined that is associated with an order code and has an additional data element defined on the 'eMAR Results Entry' section of the 'POC Results Entry Configuration' form.
  • Please log out of the application and log back in after completing the above configuration.
  • Two order codes must exist:
  1. An order code that has “Require Result Text on Administration Event Result” when set to “No”, and the 'Include Pain Scale in Avatar eMAR' field set to "Yes" in the ‘Order Code Setup’ form. (Order Code A)
  2. An order code that has “Require Result Text on Administration Event Result” when set to “Yes” in the ‘Order Code Setup’ form. (Order Code B)
  • Must have the "NDC's" for "CEFTRIAXONE 1 GM/5 ML INTRAVENOUS SOLUTION" and "COUMADIN (WARFARIN SODIUM) 10 MG ORAL TABLET".
  • “Client A” must have the following values entered for 'Blood Glucose' in the ‘Vitals Entry’ form.
  • "120 mg/dL"
  • "125 mg/dL"
  • A client must have an inpatient episode whose program or unit are configured in the ‘External Pharmacy Setup’ form. (Client A)
  • A client must have an active episode. (Client B)
  • “Client A” and "Client B" must have a ‘Date of Birth’, ‘Sex’ and address on file in the ‘Update Client Data’ form, as well as information filed in the ‘Allergies and Hypersensitivities’ form, ‘Diagnosis’ form, and in the ‘Height’ and ‘Weight’ fields in the ‘Vitals Entry’ form.
Steps
  1. Select "Client A" and access the Order Entry Console.
  2. Create orders for "Order Code A" and "Order Code B".
  3. Access the 'eMAR' widget.
  4. Validate that orders for "Order Code A" and "Order Code B" are displayed with no hours of administration under the current date.
  5. Select a cell under the current date for the "Order Code A" order and for the "Order Code B" order and click [Administer]
  6. Fill out all required fields.
  7. Click the 'Additional Data (Administration)' tab.
  8. Select "120 mg/dL'' from the 'Blood Glucose (mg/dL)' field.
  9. Set the 'Weight (lbs/kgs)' field to "100" and select "lbs".
  10. Set the 'eMAR Results Entry' field to "75".
  11. Check the 'Accept administration information entered' check box and click [OK].
  12. Validate the first cells under the current date for the "Order Code A" and "Order Code B" orders contain the amount administered and the time administered.
  13. Double click the administered cell under the current date for the "Order Code A" order.
  14. Validate the 'Result' field is not required and enter "Test.
  15. Click the 'Additional Data (Results)' tab.
  16. Click on '0' or 'No Pain'.
  17. Validate the scale is set to "0".
  18. Set the 'Blood Glucose (mg/dL)' field to "100".
  19. Set the 'Weight (lbs/kgs)' field to "99" and select "lbs".
  20. Set the 'eMAR Results Entry' field to "65".
  21. Check the 'Accept administration information entered' check box and click [OK].
  22. Double click the administered cell under the current date for the "Order Code B" order.
  23. Validate the 'Result' field is required.
  24. Click [Cancel].
  25. Switch to "Client B" and back to "Client A".
  26. Select an empty cell under "Order Code B".
  27. Validate the 'Error' dialog is displayed containing "Please scan client wristband to continue".
  28. Click [Cancel].

Scenario 1: Progress Notes (Group and Individual) - Note Addresses Which Treatment Plan Problem
Specific Setup:
  • A client must be enrolled in an existing episode (Client A).
Steps
  1. Select "Client A" and access the 'Treatment Plan' form.
  2. Enter the desired date in the 'Plan Date' field.
  3. Select the desired value in the 'Plan Type' field.
  4. Select "Draft" in the 'Treatment Plan Status' field.
  5. Click [Launch Plan].
  6. Click [Add New Problem].
  7. Enter and select any value in the 'Problem Code' field.
  8. Populate all required fields.
  9. Click [Add New Goal].
  10. Enter any value in the 'Goal' field.
  11. Populate all required fields.
  12. Click [Add New Objective].
  13. Enter any value in the 'Objective' field.
  14. Populate all required fields.
  15. Click [Add New Intervention].
  16. Enter any value in the 'Intervention' field.
  17. Populate all required fields.
  18. Click [Return to Plan] and [OK].
  19. Populate any desired fields.
  20. Click [Submit].
  21. Access the 'Progress Notes (Group and Individual)' form.
  22. Select "New Service" in the 'Progress Note For' field.
  23. Select any value in the 'Note Type' field.
  24. Enter the desired date in the 'Date of Service' field.
  25. Enter the desired value in the 'Service Charge Code' field.
  26. Select "Treatment Plan" from the 'Select Treatment Plan Version' field.
  27. Click [Select Plan Item Note Addresses].
  28. Select the intervention from the previous steps.
  29. Click [Return].
  30. Validate the 'Note Addresses Which Treatment Plan Item(s)' field contains the data from the previous steps.
  31. Click [Text Editor].
  32. Validate the 'Text Editor (Read-Only)' field contains the data from the previous steps.
  33. Click [Cancel].
  34. Validate the 'Note Addresses Which Treatment Plan Item(s)' field contains the data from the previous steps.
  35. Populate any required and desired fields.
  36. Click [Submit Note].
  37. Validate a 'Progress Notes' dialog stating "Note Filed." and click [OK].
  38. Close the form.

Scenario 1: 'Guarantor/Payors' form - field validations
Specific Setup:
  • An existing guarantor is identified. Note the guarantor code/name.
Steps
  1. Access the 'Guarantors/Payors' form.
  2. Select "Edit" in the 'Add New Or Edit Existing Guarantor' field.
  3. Select an existing guarantor to edit. Note the guarantor code/name.
  4. Use the 'Associated plans' field to select a plan for the guarantor. Note the plan name for further validation.
  5. Select "No" in the ‘Require Group #’ field.
  6. Verify the value successfully accepted by the field.
  7. Select "Yes" in the ‘Require Group #’ field. Note the value selected in this field.
  8. Verify the value successfully accepted by the field.
  9. File the form.
  10. Select "Edit" in the 'Add New Or Edit Existing Guarantor' field.
  11. Select the same guarantor to edit.
  12. Verify the 'Associated plans' field is populated with the plan selected in above step.
  13. Verify the ‘Require Group #’ field is populated correctly with "Yes" as filed in above step.
  14. Select "Add" in the 'Add New Or Edit Existing Guarantor' field.
  15. Enter "0002" in the 'New Guarantor Code' field and press the 'Tab' key.
  16. Validate the zeros are removed in the 'New Guarantor Code' field.
  17. Please note that if this code is taken, a dialog will display.
  18. Clicking [OK] will clear the 'New Guarantor Code' field.
  19. Populate all the required fields.
  20. Select the plan for the guarantor in the 'Associated plans' field. Note the plan name for further validation.
  21. Select "No" in the ‘Require Group #’ field.
  22. Verify the value successfully accepted by the field.
  23. File the form.
  24. Select "Edit" in the 'Add New Or Edit Existing Guarantor' field.
  25. Select the same guarantor to edit.
  26. Verify the 'Associated plans' field is populated with the plan selected in above step.
  27. Verify the ‘Require Group #’ field is populated correctly with "Yes" as filed in above step.
  28. File the form.
  29. Click [Close Form].
