Note - These testing guidelines assume the user is skilled in the use of, at a minimum, the following:
Scenario 1: Admitting a new client with 'Master Patient Index' enabled
Specific Setup:
- 'Master Patient Index' must be enabled and configured. Please note: this must be done by a Netsmart Representative.
Steps
- Access the 'Admission' form.
- Verify the 'Select Client' dialog exists.
- Enter any new value in the 'Last Name' field.
- Enter any new value in the 'First Name' field.
- Select any value from the 'Sex' field.
- Click [Search].
- Validate the 'Search Results' dialog is displayed stating: No matches found.
- Click [New Client].
- Validate the 'Master Patient Index Search' dialog is displayed.
- Enter the same value used in the previous steps in the 'Last Name' field.
- Enter the same value used in the previous steps in the 'First Name' field.
- Enter any value in the 'Date Of Birth' field.
- Select the same value used in the previous steps from the 'Sex' field.
- Click [Search].
- Validate the 'MPI Search Results' dialog is displayed showing any results that may have been found.
- Click [Add New Client].
- Enter the current date in the 'Preadmit/Admission Date' field.
- Enter the current time in the 'Preadmit/Admission Time' field.
- Select any outpatient program from the 'Program' field.
- Select any value from the 'Type Of Admission' field.
- Enter the practitioner associated to the logged in user in the 'Admitting Practitioner' field.
- Click [Submit].
- Select the newly admitted client and access the 'Admission' form.
- Validate the fields contain the previously populated values.
- Close the form.
Scenario 2: Admitting an existing client with 'Master Patient Index' enabled
Specific Setup:
- 'Master Patient Index' must be enabled and configured. Please note: this must be done by a Netsmart Representative.
- A client named "Bill Baker" is enrolled in an existing episode.
Steps
- Access the 'Admission' form.
- Verify the 'Select Client' dialog exists.
- Enter "Baker" in the 'Last Name' field.
- Enter "Joe" in the 'First Name' field.
- Select any value from the 'Sex' field.
- Click [Search].
- Validate the 'Search Results' dialog is displayed stating: No matches found.
- Click [New Client].
- Validate a 'Master Patient Index Search' dialog is displayed.
- Enter the same value used in the previous steps in the 'Last Name' field.
- Enter the same value used in the previous steps in the 'First Name' field.
- Enter any value in the 'Date Of Birth' field.
- Select the same value used in the previous steps from the 'Sex' field.
- Click [Search].
- Validate the 'MPI Search Results' dialog is displays clients with the same last name.
- Double click on "Bill Baker" and validate their score card displays.
- Click [Select Client].
- Enter the current date in the 'Preadmit/Admission Date' field.
- Enter the current time in the 'Preadmit/Admission Time' field.
- Select any outpatient program from the 'Program' field.
- Select "First Admission" from the 'Type Of Admission' field.
- Enter the practitioner associated to the logged in user in the 'Admitting Practitioner' field.
- Click [Submit].
- Select "Bill Baker" and access the 'Admission' form.
- Select the new episode and verify the data saved.
- Close the form.

- “Client A” must have a ‘Date of Birth’, ‘Sex’ and address on file in the ‘Update Client Data’ form, as well as information filed in the ‘Allergies and Hypersensitivities’ form, ‘Diagnosis’ form, and in the ‘Height’ and ‘Weight’ fields in the ‘Vitals Entry’ form.
Steps
- Select "Client A" and access the Order Entry Console.
- Search for and select "ADDERALL 10 MG TABLET ORAL (Schedule II)" from the 'New Order' field.
- Set the 'Dose' field to "2".
- Validate the 'Dose Unit' field is equal to "Tablet".
- Select "TWICE A DAY" from the 'Freq' field.
- Set the 'Duration' field to "28" and click [Days].
- Set the 'Start Date' field to "t-27".
- Set the 'Start Time' field to the current time.
- Validate the 'Dispense Qty' field is equal to "112".
- Select "Tablet" from the 'Dispense Qty Unit' field.
- Validate the 'Earliest Fill Date' field is equal to the current date.
- Search for and select "Anger" from the 'Diagnosis' field.
- Click [Add to Scratchpad] and [Final Review].
- Validate the 'Interactions' dialog is displayed.
- Override all interactions and click [Save Override and Exit].
- Select 'None in the 'Output' field and click [Sign].
- Select the "ADDERALL 10 MG" order from the 'Order grid' and click [Copy].
- Validate the 'Diagnosis' field is equal to "Anger".
- Click [Refresh Orders].
- Select the "ADDERALL 10 MG" order from the 'Order grid' and click [Modify].
- Validate the 'Diagnosis' field is equal to "Anger".
- Click [Refresh Orders].
- Select the "ADDERALL 10 MG" order from the 'Order grid' and click [Reorder].
- Validate the 'Diagnosis' field is equal to "Anger".

- Access the 'Order Code Setup' form.
- Search for and select "Fish Oil 500 MG CAPSULE ORAL" from the 'Existing Order Code'.
- Click ['Ask on Order Entry' Questions].
- Configure at least one AOE question to be required and click [Save].
- Validate a message displays stating "Save Successful" and click [Yes].
- Click [Submit] and do not return to the form.
- Select "Client A" and access the Order Entry Console.
- Select the 'Admission Med Reconciliation' tab.
- Search for and select "FISH OIL 500 MG CAPSULE ORAL" from the 'New Order' field.
- Set the 'Dose' field to "1" and press [Tab].
- Select "Capsules" from the 'Dose Unit' field.
- Select "TWICE A DAY" from the 'Freq' field.
- Set the 'Duration' field to "12" and click [Days].
- Click [Ask on Order Entry].

Scenario 1: Validate color contrast in the 'My Clients' list
Specific Setup:
- The logged in user has at least two clients admitted in their caseload (Client A and Client B).
- A client is admitted in an existing episode that is not in the logged in user's caseload (Client C).
- Client B has an appointment scheduled for the current date at the defined site.
- Staff members must be defined in the 'Practitioner Enrollment' form.
- A site must be defined in the 'Site Registration' form.
Steps
- Hover over "Client A" in the 'My Clients' list.
- Validate the text becomes bold.
- Select "Client A".
- Validate the client gets a grey background, a green bar to its left, and the text becomes bold.
- Hover over selected client.
- Validate the client retains its green bar but its background changes to the same color as a non-selected client when hovered over, and its text is no longer bold.
- Search for and select "Client C".
- Validate the 'Recent Clients' list now contains "Client C."
- Hover over selected client.
- Validate the client retains its green bar but its background changes to the same color as a non-selected client when hovered over, and its text is no longer bold.
- Clear the client.
- Validate the 'Recent Clients" list contains "Client C"
- Hover over "Client C".
- Validate the text becomes bold.
- Select the "Staff" section.
- Select the desired staff member.
- Validate the staff member gets a grey background, a green bar to its left, and its text becomes bold.
- Hover over selected staff member.
- Validate the staff member retains its green bar but its background color change to the same color non-selected clients have when hovered over and its text is no longer bold.
- Select the "My Clients" section and access "Client A".
- Validate the client gets a gray background, a green bar to its side, and its text becomes bold.
- Select the "Site" section.

- Hover over "Client B".
- Validate the client name becomes bold when hovered over.

Scenario 1: Validate color contrast when switching/hovering/selecting views
Specific Setup:
- The logged in user must have multiple views associated to their myDay view in the 'NX View Definition' form.
Steps
- Select the 'myDay' view.
- Validate the text is bold for the selected view and the text for the non-selected views are not.
- Hover over any other desired view and validate that the text is bold.
- Hover over the already selected myDay view and validate the text is a lighter grey and remains bold.
- Select and hover over any desired views and validate they behave the same.
- Select the 'View' menu containing all defined views.
- Hover over any desired value and validate the view gets a darker background.
- Click on the 'myAvatar NX' logo in the top left corner.
- Press the 'Tab' key.
- Validate there is dark outline around the 'myDay' view and the text is a lighter grey and remains bold.
- Press the 'Tab' key and validate there is a dark outline around the next view in order and the text is bold. Please note: When you press the 'Tab' key, it will navigate through the views in order of first to last.
- Press the 'Enter' key and validate the view opens as expected.
- Press the 'Tab' and 'Enter' keys for any desired views and validate they behave the same.
- Select the 'View' menu containing all defined views.
- Press the 'Tab' key.
- Verify 'myDay' is now highlighted.

- Uncheck the 'Client Reported' checkbox.
- Search for and select "Ambien 10 MG Tablet Oral (Schedule IV)" in the 'New Order' field.
- Set the 'Dose' field to "1".
- Validate the 'Dose Unit' field contains "Tablet".
- Select "Every Day" in the 'Frequency' field
- Set the 'Days Supply' field to "30" and press Tab.
- Validate the 'Dispense Qty' field contains "30".

- The 'Progress Notes' widget is on the myDay view for the logged in user.
Steps
- Access the 'Registry Settings' form.
- Enter "Enable Treatment Plan Grid" in the 'Limit Registry Settings to the Following Search Criteria' field.
- Click [View Registry Settings]
- Select "Enable Treatment Plan Grid" for 'Progress Notes (Group and Individual)' from the 'Registry Setting' list.
- Click [OK].
- Validate the 'Registry Setting Details' field contains "Enter "Y" to add 'Treatment Plan' grid field to the form. Enter "YD" to add the grid field and enable the functionality to default the previously selected treatment plan to the new row. Enter "N" to remove the field from the form."
- Enter "Y" in the 'Registry Setting Value' field.
- Click [Submit].
- Validate a "Registry Editor Filing" message is displayed stating: Successful filing.
- Click [OK].
- Validate a "Form Return" message is displayed stating: Submitting has completed. Do you wish to return to form?
- Click [No].
- Access the 'Progress Notes (Group and Individual)' form.
- Verify the 'Treatment Plan' grid is displayed.
- Enter "Client A" in the 'Select Client' field.

- Click [New Row] in the 'Treatment Plan' grid.
- Validate the 'Select T.P. Version' field does not contain a value.
- Select the second row in the 'Treatment Plan' grid.
- Click [Delete Row].
- Validate a "Confirm" message is displayed stating: Are you sure you want to delete these rows?
- Click [Yes].
- Select "Final" in the 'Draft/Final' field.
- Click [File Note].
- Validate a "Progress Notes" message is displayed stating: Note Filed.
- Click [OK] and close the form.
- Access the 'Registry Settings' form.

Scenario 1: OE NX - Order Entry Console - Create orders in Orders This Episode and Home Medications, Reconcile and Review in Admission Med Reconciliation and Review and Sign in Discharge Med Reconciliation
Specific Setup:
- The 'Avatar Order Entry->Facility Defaults->Medication Reconciliation->->->Enable Medication Reconciliation in the Order Entry Console' registry setting must be set to "3"
- The user logged into the application must have the 'Client Reported' checkbox checked in the 'Default to Client Reported in Home Medications' field in 'Order Entry User Definition'.
- Please log out of the application and log back in after completing the above configuration.
- A client must have an active inpatient episode whose program or unit are configured in the 'External Pharmacy Setup' form. (Client A)
- "Client A" and "Client B" must have a ‘Date of Birth’, ‘Sex’ and address on file in the ‘Update Client Data’ form, as well as information filed in the ‘Allergies and Hypersensitivities’ form, ‘Diagnosis’ form and in the ‘Height’ and ‘Weight’ fields in the ‘Vitals Entry’ form.
- A client must have an active inpatient episode with no active orders. (Client B)
- For testing purposes the default 'Reason Codes' that come with the application were utilized.
Steps
- Select "Client A" and access the Order Entry Console.
- Search for and select "AMBIEN 10 MG TABLET ORAL (Schedule IV)" in the 'New Order' field.
- Set the 'Dose' field to "1".
- Validate the 'Dose Unit' field contains "Tablet".

- An 'Order Group' must exist that contains the following:(Order Group A).
- A pharmacy-type order code with "PRN" selected in the 'Routine or PRN(As Needed)' field, and "5" set in 'Duration(Doses)'. (Order Code A)
- A pharmacy-type order code with "PRN" selected in the 'Routine or PRN(As Needed)' field, and "30" set in 'Duration(Days)'. (Order Code B)

- Select "Client A" and access the 'Treatment Plan' form.
- Verify the plan filed in the previous steps.
- Click [Launch Plan] and [Add New Problem].
- Populate required and desired fields.
- Click [Date Opened Calendar].
- Validate the Calendar is not overlapped or flickering in its position.
- Click [Date Closed Calendar].
- Validate the Calendar is not overlapped or flickering in its position.
- Click [Date Due Calendar].
- Validate the Calendar is not overlapped or flickering in its position.
- Enter a very long string of characters in the 'Problem' field.
- Check off the 'Wrap Text' field.
- Validate the 'Problem' text is wrapped.
- Uncheck the 'Wrap Text' field.
- Validate the 'Problem' text is not wrapped.
- Click [Return to Plan] and [OK].
- Click [Final - Treatment Plan Status] and [Submit].

Order Entry Console (Orders This Episode section) - 'Order Group' dialog
Note - These testing guidelines assume the user is skilled in the use of, at a minimum, the following:
Scenario 1: OE NX - Order Group - Default Duration in Doses
Specific Setup:
- An Order Group must exist that contains an order code (Order Code A) with a 'Default Duration(Doses)' of "6". (Order Group A).
- A client must have an inpatient episode whose program or unit are configured in the ‘External Pharmacy Setup’ form. (Client A)
- “Client A” must have a ‘Date of Birth’, ‘Sex’ and address on file in the ‘Update Client Data’ form, as well as information filed in the ‘Allergies and Hypersensitivities’ form, ‘Diagnosis’ form, and in the ‘Height’ and ‘Weight’ fields in the ‘Vitals Entry’ form.
Steps
- Select "Client A" and access the Order Entry Console.
- Search for and select "Order Group A" in the 'New Order' field.
- Validate the 'Order Group' dialog is displayed and contains "Order Code A".
- Check the checkbox next to "Order Code A".
- Validate that only one 'Dose' field is displayed and contains "1".
- Validate the 'Dose Unit' field contains "Capsule".
- Validate the 'Frequency' field contains "TWICE A DAY".
- Validate the 'Duration' field contains "6".
- Validate that [Doses] is not displayed and click [Days].
- Validate the 'Start Date' field contains the current date.
- Validate the 'Start Time' field contains the current time.
- Select "Take with a glass of water" from the 'Instructions' field.
- Validate the 'Instructions' field contains "Take with a glass of water"
- Click [Add to Scratchpad].
- Validate the 'Scratchpad' contains the order "PRILOSEC 10 MG CAPSULE, DELAYED RELEASE ORAL".
- Select the order "PRILOSEC 10 MG CAPSULE, DELAYED RELEASE ORAL" from the scratchpad.
- Select "Capsule" from the 'Dispense Qty Unit' field.
- Validate the 'Directions' field contains "Take one (1) tables by mouth twice a day".
- Click [Update Order] and [Final Review].
- Validate the 'Interactions' dialog is displayed.
- Override all interactions and click [Save Override and Exit].
- Validate the 'Final Review' dialog is displayed
- Select "None" in the 'Output' field and click [Sign].
- Validate the 'Order grid' contains an order for "PRILOSEC 10 MG ORAL CAPSULE, DELAYED RELEASE1 Table, TWICE A DAY".
Scenario 2: Order Entry Console - Taper/Titrate - Calendar
Specific Setup:

- Select "Client A" and access the Order Entry Console.
- Search and select "PRILOSEC (26433) 10 MG CAPSULE, DELAYED RELEASE ORAL" in the 'New Order' field.
- Click [TAPER/TITRATE].
- Validate the 'Taper/Titrate' dialog contains the order "PRILOSEC(10 MG) CAPSULE, DELAYED RELEASE (Capsule) ORAL".
- Validate [Calendar] is selected.
- Set the 'Dose' field to "2".
- Validate the 'Dose Unit' field contains "Capsule".
- Validate "1" is displayed in the 'Days' field.
- Select "AS NEEDED" in the 'Freq' field.
- Click [Add Step].
- Set the 2nd 'Dose' field to "3".
- Validate the 2nd 'Dose Unit' field contains "Capsule".
- Validate the 2nd 'Days' field contains "1".
- Select "AS NEEDED" in the 2nd 'Freq' field.
- Click [Add to Scratchpad].
- Click the 1st order in the 'Scratchpad'.
- Validate the 'Stop Time' field contains "11:59 PM".
- Select "Capsule" from the 'Dispense Qty Unit' field.
- Click [Update Order].
- Click the 2nd order in the 'Scratchpad'.
- Select "Capsule" from the 'Dispense Qty Unit' field.
- Click [Update Order] and [Final Review].
- Validate the 'Interactions' dialog is displayed.
- Override all interactions and click [Save Override and Exit].
- Validate the 'Final Review' dialog is displayed and click [Sign].
- Validate the 'Order grid' contains both steps of the Taper/Titration order created.
