Order Entry Console - Frequency
Note - These testing guidelines assume the user is skilled in the use of, at a minimum, the following:
- Order Entry Console - Admission Med Reconciliation
- Orders This Episode
Scenario 1: OE NX - Order Entry Console (Admission Med Reconciliation section) - Create an order for a one-time-only 'Frequency Code' with one hour of administration, while using arrow keys
Specific Setup:
- The 'Avatar Order Entry->Facility Defaults->Client Profile->->->Default Dur of 1 for New OTO Orders' must be set to "Y".
- Please log out of the application and log back in after completing the above configuration.
- A 'Frequency Code' must exist that is one-time-only and has an administration time. (One-time-only at 08:00 AM)
- A client must have an active episode. (Client A)
- “Client A” must have a ‘Date of Birth’, ‘Sex’ and address on file in the ‘Update Client Data’ form, as well as information filed in the ‘Allergies and Hypersensitivities’ form, ‘Diagnosis’ form, and in the ‘Height’ and ‘Weight’ fields in the ‘Vitals Entry’ form.
Steps
- Select "Client A" and access the Order Entry Console'
- Click the 'Admission Reconciliation' tab.
- Search for and select "CEFACLOR 250 MG CAPSULE ORAL" in the 'New Order' field.
- Set the 'Dose' field to "1" and press Tab.
- Validate the 'Dose Unit' field contains "Capsule".
- Click in the 'Freq' field and use the arrow keys on the keyboard to scroll through the various 'Frequency Codes'. Notice that the description may display in the 'Freq' field, but no values will display in the 'First Dose Date' or 'First Dose Time' fields and the 'Start Date' and 'Start Time' fields are not being updated.
- Stop on "One-time-only at 08:00 AM" and press Enter.
- Validate the 'Freq' field contains "One-time-only at 08:00 AM".
- Validate the 'First Dose Date' field is enabled and contains tomorrow's date. This is because it is currently after "08:00 AM".
- Validate the 'First Dose Time' field is enabled and contains "08:00 AM".
- Validate the 'Start Date' field is disabled and contains tomorrow's date.
- Validate the 'Start Time' field is disabled and contains "08:00 AM".
- Click in the 'Freq' field and use the arrow keys on the keyboard to scroll through the various 'Frequency Codes'.
- Stop on "Twice A Day", which has administration times of "09:00 AM", and "09:00 PM" and press Enter.
- Validate the 'First Dose Date' field is disabled and contains tomorrow's date.
- Validate the 'First Dose Time' field is disabled and contains "09:00 AM".
- Validate the 'Start Date' field is enabled and contains tomorrow's date.
- Validate the 'Start Time' field is enabled and contains "08:00 AM".
- Set the 'Start Date' field to the current date.
- Set the 'Start Time' field to the current time.
- Validate the 'First Dose Date' field is disabled and contains the current date.
- Validate the 'First Dose Time' field is disabled and contains "09:00 PM".
- Click in the 'Freq' field and use the arrow keys on the keyboard to scroll through the various 'Frequency Codes' to "One-time-only at 08:00 AM" and press Enter.
- Validate the 'First Dose Date' field is enabled and contains tomorrow's date.
- Validate the 'First Dose Time' field is enabled and contains "08:00 AM".
- Validate the 'Start Date' field is disabled and contains tomorrow's date.
- Validate the 'Start Time' field is disabled and contains "08:00 AM".
- Validate the 'Duration' field contains "1" and that [Days] is selected.
- Validate the 'Days Supply' field contains "1".
- Validate the 'Dispense Qty' field contains "1".
- Select "Capsule" in the 'Dispense Qty Unit' field.
- Click [Add to Scratchpad] and [Restart Reconciliation].
Scenario 2: OE NX - Order Entry Console (Orders This Episode section) - Create an order for a one-time-only 'Frequency Code' with one hour of administration, while using arrow keys
Specific Setup:

- Validate the 'First Dose Time' field is enabled and contains "08:00 AM".
- Validate the 'Start Date' field is disabled and contains tomorrow's date.
- Validate the 'Start Time' field is disabled and contains "08:00 AM".
- Validate the 'Duration' field contains "1" and that [Days] is selected.
- Validate the 'Days Supply' field contains "1".
- Validate the 'Dispense Qty Unit' field contains "1".
- Select "Capsule" in the 'Dispense Qty Unit' field.
- Click [Add to Scratchpad] and [Final Review].
- Validate the 'Interactions' dialog is displayed.
- Override all interactions and click [Save Override and Exit].
- Validate the 'Order grid' contains an order for "CEFACLOR 250 MG ORAL CAPSULE 1 Capsule, One-time-only at 08:00 AM".
Scenario 3: OE NX - Orders This Episode - Taper/Titration dialog when using arrow keys to navigate through 'Frequency Codes'.
Specific Setup:
- A 'Frequency Code' must exist that is one-time-only and has an administration time. (One-time-only at 08:00 AM)
- A client must have an active episode. (Client A)
- “Client A” must have a ‘Date of Birth’, ‘Sex’ and address on file in the ‘Update Client Data’ form, as well as information filed in the ‘Allergies and Hypersensitivities’ form, ‘Diagnosis’ form, and in the ‘Height’ and ‘Weight’ fields in the ‘Vitals Entry’ form.
Steps
- Select "Client A" and access the Order Entry Console.
- Search for and select "PREDNISONE 1 MG TABLET ORAL" in the 'New Order' field.
- Click [TAPER/TITRATE].
- Validate that [Calendar] is selected.
- Set the 'Dose' field to "1" and press Tab.
- Validate the 'Dose Unit' field contains "Tablet".
- Press Tab
- Use the arrow keys on the keyboard to scroll through the various 'Frequency Codes' to "One-time-only at 08:00 AM" and press Enter.
- Click [Add to Scratchpad].
- Select the order in the 'ScratchPad'.
- Validate the 'Dose' field contains "1".
- Validate the 'Dose Unit' field contains "Tablet".
- Validate the 'Freq' field contains "One-time-only at 08:00 AM".
- Validate the 'First Dose Date' field is enabled and contains tomorrow's date.
- Validate the 'First Dose Date' field is enabled and contains "08:00 AM".
- Validate the 'Start Date' field is disabled and contains tomorrow's date.
- Validate the 'Start Time' field is disabled and contains "08:00 AM".
- Click [Refresh].

- Two frequency codes must exist. One that is one-time-only and has an administration time (One-time-only at 08:00 AM) and one that that is "Twice A Day" with administration times of "09:00 AM" and "09:00 PM".
- A client must have an active episode. (Client A)
- “Client A” must have a ‘Date of Birth’, ‘Sex’ and address on file in the ‘Update Client Data’ form, as well as information filed in the ‘Allergies and Hypersensitivities’ form, ‘Diagnosis’ form, and in the ‘Height’ and ‘Weight’ fields in the ‘Vitals Entry’ form.
Steps
- Access the 'Order Group Setup' form.
- Create a new order group that contains two "PREDNISONE 20 MG TABLET ORAL" order codes with "Routine" selected in the 'Routine or PRN(As Needed)' field and is named "Test Order Group".
- Select "Client A" and access the Order Entry Console.
- Search for and select "Test Order Group" in the 'New Order' field.
- Validate that the 'Order Group' dialog is displayed.
- Check the first checkbox for "PREDNISONE 20 MG TABLET ORAL".
- Set the 'Dose' field to "1".
- Select "Tablet" in the 'Dose Unit' field.
- Click in the 'Frequency' field and use the arrow keys on the keyboard to scroll through the various 'Frequency Codes' to "One-time-only at 08:00 AM" and press Enter.
- Validate the 'Frequency' field contains "One-time-only at 08:00 AM".
- Validate the 2nd 'Start Date' field is disabled and contains tomorrow's date.
- Validate the 2nd 'Start Time' field is disabled and contains "08:00 AM".
- Click in the 'Frequency' field and use the arrow keys on the keyboard to scroll through the various 'Frequency Codes' to "Twice A Day" and press Enter.
- Validate the 2nd 'Start Date' field is enabled and contains tomorrow's date.
- Validate the 2nd 'Start Time' field is enabled and contains "08:00 AM".
- Click in the 'Frequency' field and use the arrow keys on the keyboard to scroll through the various 'Frequency Codes' to "One-time-only at 08:00 AM" and press Enter.
- Validate the 'Frequency' field contains "One-time-only at 08:00 AM".
- Validate the 2nd 'Start Date' field is disabled and contains tomorrow's date.
