Note - These testing guidelines assume the user is skilled in the use of, at a minimum, the following:
  • Quick Billing
Scenario 1: Quick Billing - validate keyboard shortcuts in 'Quick Billing' work screen
Specific Setup:
  • The logged in user has access to the 'Quick Billing' form (User A).
  • An existing Quick Billing file is available and has rows (File A).
  • "File A" must contain the following:
  • Multiple services codes, multiple clients, and multiple practitioners.
Steps
  1. Access the 'Quick Billing' form and validate it opens in a timely manner.
  2. Select "Edit Existing" in the 'Add New Or Edit Existing Quick Billing Batch' field.
  3. Select "File A" from the 'File' field.
  4. Click [Launch Workscreen] and validate it opens in a timely manner.
  5. Validate all the values in the 'Service Code', 'Client' and 'Practitioner' fields are selected.
  6. Deselect the desired value in the 'Service Code' field.
  7. Validate the deselected value no longer displays below.
  8. Press 'Ctrl' + 'A'.
  9. Validate all the values are selected in the 'Service Code' field and display as expected.
  10. Press 'Ctrl' + 'A'.
  11. Validate none of the values are selected in the 'Service Code' field, but all display below as expected.
  12. Press 'Ctrl' + 'A'.
  13. Validate all the values are selected in the 'Service Code' field and display as expected.
  14. Press 'Ctrl' + 'D'.
  15. Validate none of the values are selected in the 'Service Code' field, but all display below as expected.
  16. Select the desired value in the 'Service Code' field.
  17. Validate the grid updates as expected.
  18. Deselect the desired value in the 'Client' field.
  19. Validate the grid updates as expected.
  20. Press 'Ctrl' + 'D'.
  21. Validate none of the values are selected in the 'Client' field, but all display below as expected.

  • A practitioner must be defined (Practitioner A).
  • Service code must be defined (Code A and Code B).
Steps
  1. Access the 'Client Charge Input' form.
  2. Enter the current date in the 'Date Of Service' field.
  3. Enter and select "Client A" from the 'Client ID' field.
  4. Validate the 'Episode Number' and 'Program' field display the correct data.
  5. Enter and select "Code A" from the 'Service Code' field.
  6. Enter and select "Practitioner A" from the 'Practitioner' field.
  7. Populate any additional fields.
  8. Click [Submit].
  9. Validate a 'Form Return' dialog stating: "Client Charge Input has completed. Do you wish to return to form?"
  10. Click [Yes].
  11. Validate the data from the previous steps displays.
  12. Enter and select "Code B" from the 'Service Code' field.
  13. Populate any additional fields.
  14. Click [Submit] and [No].
  15. Access the 'Spreadsheet Edit Service Information' form.
  16. Select "Individual" in the 'Individual Or All Practitioners' field.
  17. Enter and select "Practitioner A" from the 'Practitioner' field.

  26. Validate a "not allowed" icon displays indicating the field cannot be edited.

  28. Validate the text is black and the "not allowed" icon does not display.
  29. Enter "Code B" in the 'Service Code' field for the first entry and press the 'Enter' key.
  30. Validate a 'Continue Filing?' dialog stating: "All 2 row(s) are valid. Duplicate row: 2 Practitioner duplicate row: 2 Do you wish to continue?" click [Yes].
  31. Validate 'Filing Complete' dialog and click [OK].
  32. Discard the form.
  33. Access the 'Spreadsheet Edit Service Information' form.
  34. Select "Individual" in the 'Individual Or All Practitioners' field.
  35. Enter and select "Practitioner A" from the 'Practitioner' field.
  36. Select "All" in the 'Individual Or All Programs' field.
  37. Select "Individual" in the 'Individual Or All Clients' field.
  38. Enter and select "Client A" from the 'Client ID' field.
  39. Click [Begin Date Of Service - T].
  40. Click [End Date Of Service - T].
  41. Click [Edit Service Information].
  42. Validate the change made in the previous step is reflected.
  43. Click [Close/Cancel] and discard the form.
Scenario 2: 'All Documents Widget Definition' form
Steps
  1. Access the 'All Documents Widget Definition' form.
  2. Select "Add" in the 'Add or Edit Tab' field.
  3. Populate the required fields and click [File].
  4. Edit the tab that was just added.
  5. Validate that the tab displays as it was data entered.
  6. Navigate to the 'Multi-Document Tab' section.
  7. Select "Add" in the 'Add or Edit Tab' field.
  8. Populate the required fields and click [File].
  9. Edit the tab that was just added.
  10. Validate that the tab displays as it was data entered.
  11. Navigate to the 'Multi-Progress Notes Tab' section.
  12. Select "Add" in the 'Add or Edit Tab' field.
  13. Populate the required fields and click [File].
  14. Edit the tab that was just added.
  15. Validate the tab displays as it was data entered.
  16. Navigate to the 'All Documents Widget Definition' section.
  17. Select "Add" in the 'Add or Edit Widget' field.
  18. Validate the [New Row] and [Delete Row] buttons are enabled.

Specific Setup:
  • A client must be enrolled in an existing episode (Client A).
Steps
  1. Select "Client A" and access the 'Diagnosis' form.
  2. Click [Add].
  3. Select any value in the 'Type of Diagnosis' field.
  4. Enter any value in the 'Date of Diagnosis' field.
  5. Enter any value in the 'Time of Diagnosis' field.
  6. Click [New Row].
  7. Enter any value in the 'Diagnosis Search' field.
  8. Select any value in the 'Diagnosing Practitioner' field.
  9. Select any value in the 'Classification' field.
  10. Click [New Row].
  11. Validate the first entry displays with dark grey text.
  12. Enter any value in the 'Diagnosis Search' field.
  13. Select "Primary" in the 'Ranking' field.
  14. Validate a dialog stating: "'Primary' Ranking is already define for row:1".
  15. Click [OK].
  16. Select "Secondary" in the 'Ranking' field.
  17. Select any value in the 'Classification' field.
  18. Click [New Row].
  19. Validate the second entry displays with dark grey text.
  20. Enter any value in the 'Diagnosis Search' field.
  21. Select "Tertiary" in the 'Ranking' field.
  22. Select any value in the 'Classification' field.
  23. Select a column header in the 'Diagnosis' grid and validate the entries are sorted.
  24. Select a diagnosis entry and verify the 'Code Crossmapping' field displays the correct data.
  25. Edit the 'Status' field for the diagnosis entry and verify the changes are saved in the grid.
  26. Click [Submit].
  27. Validate a dialog stating: "Do you want to return to the Pre-Display?".
  28. Click [No].
Scenario 4: Treatment Plan - File a Treatment Plan with Document Routing
Specific Setup:
  • Client is enrolled in an existing episode (Client A)
  • The 'Treatment Plan' form must have document routing enabled.
  • Must have the 'My To Do's' widget configured on a view.
  • The 'Set Current Status To Active When Plan Is Finalized' registry setting is set to "N" for the 'Treatment Plan' form.
  • The 'Set Current Status To Completed On Plan End Date' registry setting is set to "N" for the 'Treatment Plan' form.
Steps
  1. Select "Client A" and access the 'Treatment Plan' form.
  2. Click [Add].
  3. Enter the current date is displayed in the 'Plan Date' field.
  4. Select the desired date in the 'Plan Date' field.
  5. Select the desired value in the 'Plan Type' field
  6. Select "Draft" in the 'Treatment Plan Status' field.
  7. Validate "Draft" is now selected in the 'Current Status' field.
  8. Click [Launch Plan].
  9. Add a problem, goal, objective, and intervention.
  10. Click [Return to Plan] and [OK].
  11. Hover over the problem in the 'Problems' field.
  12. Validate a "not allowed" icon displays indicating the field cannot be edited.
  13. Validate the 'Problem' is displayed in dark grey text.
  14. Select "Final" in the 'Draft/Final' field.
  15. Select "Active" in the 'Current Status' field.
  16. Click [Submit].
  17. Validate a "Confirm Document" dialog is displayed for document routing.
  18. Validate all treatment plan data displays as expected. Please note: the 'Current Status' field will not be included in the document image. This is because the 'Current Status' field can be updated after a 'Treatment Plan' has been finalized.
  19. Click [Accept].
  20. Enter the password and click [Verify].
  21. Select "Client A" and access the 'Treatment Plan' form.
  22. Select the record from the previous steps and click [Edit].
  23. Validate a message is displayed stating: This plan is marked as Final. Only the following field(s) may be updated: 'Current Status'. Do you want to continue?
  24. Click [Yes].
  25. Validate the plan displays as expected and fields are disabled, except for the 'Current Status' field.
  26. Select "Completed" in the 'Current Status' field.
  27. Click [Submit].
  28. Validate a message is displayed stating: The following fields are updated: 'Current Status'.
  29. Click [OK].
  30. Select "Client A" and access the 'Treatment Plan' form.
  31. Select the record from the previous steps and click [Edit].
  32. Validate a message is displayed stating: This plan is marked as Final. Only the following field(s) may be updated: 'Current Status'. Do you want to continue?
  33. Click [Yes].
  34. Validate "Completed" is selected in the 'Current Status' field.
  35. Close the form.

Avatar NX - Form Return
Note - These testing guidelines assume the user is skilled in the use of, at a minimum, the following:

Scenario 1: Client ledger - Crystal Report ledger type with sub report
Specific Setup:
  • Client with existing Financial Eligibility with multiple guarantors where the guarantor order is set to distribute liability first to the guarantor with the highest code number (Client A).
  • "Client A" must have existing services.
Steps
  1. Access the 'Client Ledger' form.
  2. Enter "Client A" in the 'Client ID' field.
  3. Select "Episode" from the 'Claim/Episode/All Episodes' field.
  4. Select the episode in the 'Episode Number' field.
  5. Select "Crystal" in the 'Ledger Type' field.
  6. Set the 'From Date' and 'To Date' fields to a valid date range for that episode.
  7. Click [Process].
  8. Validate a Crystal report generated and displays the services for the date range previously selected.
  9. Click on the "Guarantor Name" link to generate a sub report displaying the guarantor and subscriber data.
  10. Validate the sub-report generated displays the ID, Name, address information for the guarantor.
  11. Click [Print Report].
  12. Validate "Downloading PDF... You have navigated to a sub-report by clicking a link within the main report. To print this report, open the downloaded PDF in your native viewer (Adobe Acrobat or a browser) and utilize print options from there." displays.
  13. Validate the report downloads.
  14. Open the report and validate it displays as expected.
  15. Navigate back to the main report and click [Close Report].
  16. Validate a 'Form Return' dialog stating: "Client Ledger has completed. Do you wish to return to form?"
  17. Click [No].
  18. Validate the form discards as expected.
Scenario 2: Failed Login Report - Login with an Invalid Password
Specific Setup:
  • User must have had at least one failed login attempt.
Steps
  1. Access the 'Failed Login Report' form.
  2. Validate the 'Login Start Date' and 'Login End Date' fields contain the current date.
  3. Click [Process].
  4. Validate the 'Failed Login Report' displays as expected.
  5. Select any value in the 'Select Zoom' field.
  6. Validate the report displays as expected.
  7. Click [Close].
  8. Validate a 'Form Return' dialog stating: "Failed Login Report has completed. Do you wish to return to form?"
  9. Click [Yes].
  10. Clear the 'Login Start Date' and 'Login End Date' fields.
  11. Validate the "Process" button is enabled.
  12. Click [Process].
  13. Validate a 'Processing Report' dialog stating: "The following fields are missing: Login End Date, Login Start Date"
  14. Click [OK].
  15. Close the form.
Scenario 3: Client Ledger - Simple Report Type
Specific Setup:
  • A client must be enrolled in an existing episode with charges filed (Client A).
Steps
  1. Access the 'Client Ledger' form.
  2. Enter "Client A's" last name in the 'Client ID' field.
  3. Validate the expected results display.
  4. Select "Client A" from the 'Client ID' field.
  5. Select "All Episodes" in the 'Claim/Episode/All Episodes' field.
  6. Select "Simple" in the 'Ledger Type' field.
  7. Populate any required and desired fields.
  8. Click [Process].
  9. Validate the report displays as expected.
  10. Select "50%" in the 'Zoom' field.
  11. Validate the report displays at 50%.
  12. Click [Close] and [Yes] to remain in the form.
  13. Validate that the form remains populated with the data entered in the previous steps.
  14. Click [Process].
  15. Validate "50%" is still selected in the 'Zoom' field and the report displays accordingly.
  16. Select "75%" in the 'Zoom' field.
  17. Validate the report displays at 75%.
  18. Click [Close] and [Yes] to remain in the form.
  19. Validate that the form remains populated with the data entered in the previous steps.
  20. Click [Process].
  21. Validate "75%" is still selected in the 'Zoom' field and the report displays accordingly.
  22. Select "100%" in the 'Zoom' field.
  23. Validate the report displays at 100%.
  24. Click [Close] and [Yes] to remain in the form.
  25. Validate that the form remains populated with the data entered in the previous steps.

Scenario 4: Form and Table Documentation - field validations - Include all
Steps
  1. Access the 'Form and Table Documentation' form.
  2. Select "Form" in the 'Type of Documentation' field.
  3. Select "Individual Form" in the 'Individual or All Forms' field.
  4. Select the desired form in the 'Form To Be Documented' field.
  5. Select the desired value in the 'Include Dictionary Values' field.
  6. Select the desired value in the 'Include User Defined Help Messages' field.
  7. Select the desired value in the 'Include Other Form(s) Data Element Cross Reference List' field.
  8. Click [Process].
  9. Validate the 'Form and Table Documentation' report is displayed and contains all fields for the selected form.
  10. Validate the ability to page through the report as expected by clicking [Next Page] and [Previous Page].
  11. Click the 'Search' field.
  12. Enter any value in the 'Search' field and click [Search].
  13. Validate the expected results display.
  14. Click [Search Whole Word] and [Search].
  15. Validate the expected results display. If no results are returned, validate a 'Results' dialog stating "No search results." and click [OK].
  16. Validate the 'Search' field is cleared.
  17. Click [Search Whole Word].

  • Enable document routing.
  • Set "Approver Required" to "Y".
Steps
  1. Open the progress notes form that for which document routing was enabled.
  2. Fill out the required fields.
  3. Set "Draft/Final" to "Draft".
  4. Reopen the progress note form that was saved as Draft.
  5. Set the "Draft/Final" field to "Final".
  6. Validate "Sign and Route" or "Accept and Route" button is enabled.
  7. Click "Sign and Route" or "Accept and Route".
  8. Route the document to the attending practitioner for this episode.
Scenario 2: Document Routing - Approve and Route - Final Approver Required
Specific Setup:
  • A client is enrolled in an existing episode (Client A).
  • Document routing is enabled for the 'Progress Notes (Group and Individual)' form and "Yes" is selected for 'Require Final Approver'.
  • A user is defined with an associated staff member (Staff Member A) and "Yes" selected in the 'User Can Be Final Approver' field in 'User Definition' (User A).
  • Must be logged in as "User A".
  • Must have the 'My To Do's' widget accessible on the HomeView.
Steps
  1. Access the 'Progress Notes (Group and Individual)' form.
  2. Select "Client A" in the 'Select Client' field.
  3. Select "Independent Note" in the 'Progress Note For' field.
  4. Select the desired value in the 'Note Type' field.
  5. Enter the desired value in the 'Notes Field' field.
  6. Select "Final" in the 'Draft/Final' field.
  7. Click [File Note].
  8. Validate that the 'Confirm Document' dialog is displayed with the progress note data, including an electronic signature at the bottom for "Staff Member A" as the Author.
  9. Click [Accept and Route].
  10. Validate the 'Route Document To' dialog is displayed.
  11. Validate the "Search here - Supervisor" field is not required.
  12. Validate the "Search here - Team" field is not required.
  13. Validate the "Search here - Add Approver" field is required.
  14. Validate that as long as a "Final Approver" checkbox is checked, the "Submit" button is enabled.

  17. Click [Submit].
  18. Validate a "Progress Notes" dialog is displayed stating: Note Filed.

  20. Navigate to the 'My To Do's' widget.
  21. Validate there is a To-Do for the progress note filed in the previous steps.
  22. Click [Approve Document].
  23. Validate the document is displayed with the progress note data, including an electronic signature at the bottom for "Staff Member A" as both the Author and Final Approver.
  24. Click [Accept].
  25. Enter the password for "User A" in the 'Verify Password' dialog and click [OK].
  26. Validate the To-Do is no longer displayed.
Scenario 3: Document Routing - Approvers Default From Last Filing
Specific Setup:
  • Open the "User Definition" form.
  • Navigate to the "Document Routing" section and set a user up as a Final Approver.
  • Open the "Document Routing Setup" form.
  • Enable document routing for the "Progress Notes (Group and Individual)" form.
  • Enable the "Approver Required" field by setting it to "Y".
Steps
  1. Open the "Progress Notes (Group and Individual)" form.
  2. Fill out all required fields.
  3. Set "Draft/Final" to "Final".
  4. Route the document to more than one approver, with one of them being set up a final approver.
  5. Log on as one of the approvers (not the final approver).
  6. Navigate to the "ToDo" widget.
  7. Validate a "ToDo" was added to the widget for this form.
  8. Accept/Sign the document.
  9. Log on as another approver or Final Approver.
  10. Navigate to the "ToDo" widget.
  11. Validate a "ToDo" has been generated.
  12. Accept/Sign the document.
  13. After all approvers have accepted and signed including the final approver.
  14. Using the "Clinical Document Viewer" form, validate the document was filed after the final approver approved it.

  1. Access the 'Scheduling Calendar'.
  2. Select "Site A" from the 'Site' field.
  3. Select "Practitioner A" from the 'Staff members' field.
  4. Right click on an open time slot.
  5. Click [Add Appointment].
  6. Validate the 'Scheduling Calendar - Appointment Details' form launches.
  7. Select "Client A" in the 'Client' field.
  8. Enter the desired value in the 'Service Code' field.
  9. Click [Submit].
  10. Validate the appointment for "Client A" displays.
  11. Select "Site B" from the 'Site' field.

Scenario 1: Validate ability to page through a report while another loads
Specific Setup:
  • A client must be enrolled in an existing episode and have multiple services on file (Client A).
Steps
  1. Access the 'Client Ledger' form.
  2. Select "Client A" in the 'Client ID' field.
  3. Select "All Episodes" in the 'Claim/Episodes/All Episodes' field.
  4. Select "Crystal" in the 'Ledger Type' field.
  5. Access the 'ZIP Code Table Maintenance' form undocked.
  6. Validate the form opens in an undocked window.
  7. Navigate to the 'Print ZIP Code Table' section.
  8. Switch to the open 'Client Ledger' form.
  9. Click [Process].
  10. Validate the crystal report opens in a new window.
  11. Switch to the undocked 'ZIP Code Table Maintenance' form.
  12. Click [Print Zip Code Table].
  13. Validate the report opens in a new window (ZIP Report A).
  14. Switch to the undocked 'Client Ledger' report.
  15. Click [Next Page] and validate the ability to page through the report while the 'ZIP Code' report loads.

  2. Validate the form opens and displays as expected.
  3. Select the 'Print ZIP Code Table' item.
  4. Click [Print ZIP Code Table].
  5. Validate the report opens in a new window.
  6. Access the 'Client Ledger' form undocked.
  7. Validate the form opens and displays as expected.
  8. Enter and select "Client A" in the 'Client ID' field.
  9. Select "All Episodes" in the 'Claim/Episode/All Episodes' field.
  10. Select "Crystal" in the 'Ledger Type' field.
  11. Click [Process].
  12. Validate the report opens in a new window.
  13. Close the main NX window.
  14. Validate all reports close.
Scenario 3: 'Scheduling Calendar': Add New, Check- In, and Check Out Individual and Group Appointments
Specific Setup:
  • A client must be enrolled in an existing episode (Client A).
  • A group must exist with at least two group members (Group A).
  • The 'Receipt Definition' form is configured.
  • The posting codes being used must have "Yes" selected in the 'Generate Receipt' field in the 'Post/Adjustment Codes Definition' form.
Steps
  1. Access the 'Scheduling Calendar' form.
  2. Right click in any available time slot and click [Add Appointment].
  3. Enter the desired value in the 'Service Code' field.
  4. Enter "Client A" in the 'Client' field.
  5. Select the desired episode in the 'Episode Number' field.
  6. Select the desired value in the 'Program' field.
  7. Click [Submit].
  8. Validate the 'Appointment Grid' contains the appointment created in the previous steps.
  9. Right click on the appointment and click [Check In].
  10. Validate the 'Scheduling Calendar - Check In' window is displayed.
  11. Enter the desired value in the 'Amount Received At Check In' field.
  12. Select the desired value in the 'Payment Code' field.
