OE NX - Order Entry Console - Order Details panels
Note - These testing guidelines assume the user is skilled in the use of, at a minimum, the following:
Scenario 1: OE NX - Orders This Episode - Pharmacy-type orders with 'Require ICD-9 Diagnosis On Orders' set to "Y".
Specific Setup:
- The ‘(508) Require ICD-9 Diagnosis On Orders' extended attribute must be set to “Yes” in the Order Entry Tabled Files ‘(500) Order Types’ dictionary for “Pharmacy”.
- Please log out of the application and log back in after completing the above configuration.
- A client must have an active inpatient episode whose program or unit are configured in the 'External Pharmacy Setup' form. (Client A)
- A client must have an active inpatient episode. (Client B)
- "Client A" and "Client B" must have a ‘Date of Birth’, ‘Sex’ and address on file in the ‘Update Client Data’ form, as well as information filed in the ‘Allergies and Hypersensitivities’ form, ‘Diagnosis’ form, and in the ‘Height’ and ‘Weight’ fields in the ‘Vitals Entry’ form.
Steps
- Select "Client A" and access the Order Entry Console.
- Search for and select any pharmacy-type order code.
- Validate the 'Diagnosis' field is required.
- Populate all required fields and click [Add to Scratchpad] and [Final Review].
- An 'Interactions' dialog may be displayed.
- Override all interactions and click [Save Override and Exit].
- Validate the 'Order grid' contains the new order.
- Select "Client B" and access the Order Entry Console.
- Search for and select any pharmacy-type order code.
- Validate the 'Diagnosis' field is required.
- Populate all required fields and click [Add to Scratchpad] and [Sign].
- An 'Interactions' dialog may be displayed.
- Override all interactions and click [Save Override and Exit].
- Validate the 'Order grid' contains the new order.

OE NX - Discharge Med Reconciliation - Diagnosis when multiple orders selected in 'Home Medications Scratchpad (Post-Discharge)'
Note - These testing guidelines assume the user is skilled in the use of, at a minimum, the following:
Scenario 1: OE NX - Adding multiple orders to scratchpad, selecting all to edit and completing Discharge Med Reconciliation
Specific Setup:
- A client must have an active inpatient episode whose program or unit are configured in the 'External Pharmacy Setup' form.
- “Client A” must have a ‘Date of Birth’, ‘Sex’ and address on file in the ‘Update Client Data’ form, as well as information filed in the ‘Allergies and Hypersensitivities’ form, ‘Diagnosis’ form, and in the ‘Height’ and ‘Weight’ fields in the ‘Vitals Entry’ form.
- "Client A" must have five active orders in the Order Entry Console (Orders This Episode section).
Steps
- Select "Client A" and access the Order Entry Console.
- Click the 'Discharge Med Reconciliation' tab
- Validate the 'Inpatient Medications' order grid contains four orders.
- Select all orders in the 'Inpatient Medications' order grid and click [Add to Scratchpad].
- Validate all orders in the 'Home Medications Scratchpad (Post-Discharge)' contain red flags in the 'Action' column.
- Select all orders in the 'Home Medications Scratchpad (Post-Discharge)'.
- Please note: If the orders selected are a controlled substance and a non-controlled or two different orders with two different schedules, a warning message will be displayed stating "Selected orders with different max refills. The lowest value for maximum refills allowed will be enforced".
- Validate the 'Order Details' panel contains 'Diagnosis', 'Refills' and 'Days Supply' fields, all of which are not required.
- Select any value in the 'Diagnosis' field.
- Select "0" in the 'Refills' field.
- Enter "28" in the 'Days Supply' field.
- Click [Update Order].
- Validate the 'Home Medications Scratchpad (Post-Discharge)' contains no red flags in the 'Action' column.
- Click [Reconcile & Review].
- Validate the 'Interactions' dialog is displayed
- Override all interactions and click [Save Override and Exit].
- Validate the 'Final Review' dialog is displayed.
- Select "None" in 'Output' for all orders and click [Sign].
- Validate the 'Discharge Med Reconciliation' tab is now in view-only mode.
