Scenario 1: Validate the ability to switch system codes
Specific Setup:
  • There must be two system codes defined (Code A and Code B).
  • There must be two users defined (User A and User B)
  • "User A" must exist in both system codes.
  • "User B" must only exist in "Code A".
Steps
  1. Log in to "Code A" as "User A".
  2. Open the User Menu.
  3. Validate 'Switch' displays.
  4. Click 'Switch'.
  5. Validate a 'Confirm' dialog stating: "Are you sure you want to log off the current system code?" and click [Yes].
  6. Validate the system is selected and disabled.
  7. Validate a countdown timer stating "Returning to the login screen in 59 seconds..."
  8. Select "Code B" in the 'System Code' field.
  9. Click [Switch System Code].
  10. Validate the user is logged into "Code B".
  11. Open the User Menu.
  12. Click 'Switch'.
  13. Validate a 'Confirm' dialog stating: "Are you sure you want to log off the current system code?" and click [Yes].
  14. Click [Change User].
  15. Log in to "Code A" as "User B".
  16. Open the User Menu.
  17. Validate 'Switch' displays.
  18. Click 'Switch'.
  19. Validate a 'Confirm' dialog stating: "Are you sure you want to log off the current system code?" and click [Yes].
  20. Validate the system is selected and disabled.

Scenario 1: 'My Calendar' widget - workflow
Specific Setup:
  • 'My Calendar' widget is on the HomeView.
  • A client must be defined with at least one active episode and have documents filed (Client A).
  • A Documentation View must be set up on a user's view containing the 'All Documents' widget and the 'Console Widget Viewer' ('All Documents' view).
  • The logged in user must have multiple appointments scheduled on any given day in the current month (Day A).
  • Please note: this scenario is for Avatar NX systems.
Steps
  1. Access the 'Scheduling Calendar' form.
  2. Right click in any available time slot.
  3. Click [Add Appointment].
  4. Enter the desired value in the 'Service Code' field.
  5. Select "Client A" in the 'Client' field.
  6. Select the desired episode in the 'Episode' field.
  7. Select the desired value in the 'Program' field.
  8. Click [Submit].
  9. Validate the 'Appointment Grid' contains the new appointment for "Client A".
  10. Click [Dismiss].
  11. Navigate to the 'My Calendar' widget.
  12. Refresh the 'My Calendar' widget.
  13. Validate the appointment for "Client A" is displayed.
  14. Access the 'Scheduling Calendar' form.
  15. Right click on the appointment for "Client A".
  16. Click [Check In] and [Submit].
  17. Validate the 'Appointment Grid' contains the checked in appointment for "Client A".

Scenario 1: Bed Management - Validate client's bed assignment after switching beds
Specific Setup:
  • Registry Settings:
  • The 'Enable Console Widgets/Views' registry setting is set to "Y" to add the 'Site' tab to the 'Client & Staff' widget. Please note: To see the changes effected by this setting, user must log out of Avatar and re-launch a new Avatar session, and login.
  • Admission:
  • An existing inpatient client is identified or a new client is added in the inpatient program. Note the Unit, room and the bed assigned to the client.
Steps
  1. Open the "Bed Management" form.
  2. Select a unit from the "Unit" drop down list.
  3. Select a room from the "Room" drop down list.
  4. Click [Bed Management].
  5. Click any data row and click [Switch].
  6. Click another data row to switch beds.
  7. Click [Switch] at the bottom right of the form.
  8. Confirm the switch filed successfully.
  9. Click [Close].
  10. Click [Print Current Bed Status Report].
  11. Verify the client is removed from the previous bed and be put in the new bed.
  12. Click [X].
  13. Click [Close Form].
  14. Locate the 'My Clients' ('Clients & Staff') widget.
  15. Click on the "Site" tab of the 'My Clients' ('Clients & Staff') widget.
  16. Select the "Unit" radio button.
  17. Enter the name of "Unit" defined on the system that has client assigned to it.
  18. Verify correct clients are displayed in the widget under selected unit.
  19. Open the 'Current Unit Census' form.
  20. Select "Individual" in the 'For Individual Unit Or All' field to generate the report for desired unit the client is admitted to in the facility.
  21. Click [Process].
  22. Verify the report displays admissions, discharges, and transfers for the unit on the date the report is run.
  23. Activity report - Activity in the unit over the past 24 hours.
  24. Current Unit Census report - Current unit client population.
  25. Census Summary Totals report - Current summaries for a unit.
  26. Click [Dismiss].
  27. Click [Yes] on 'Form Return' message.
  28. Select "All" in the 'For Individual Unit Or All' field to generate the report for desired unit the client is admitted to in the facility.
  29. Click [Process].
  30. Verify the report displays admissions, discharges, and transfers for the unit on the date the report is run.
  31. Activity report - Activity in the unit over the past 24 hours.
  32. Current Unit Census report - Verify the client will be removed from the previous unit/room/ bed and be put in the new unit/room/bed.
  33. Census Summary Totals report - Current summaries for a unit.
  34. Click [Dismiss].
  35. Click [No] on 'Form Return' message.
Scenario 2: Bed Management - validate the 'Specify Gender in Bed Management' registry setting
Specific Setup:
  • The 'Specify Gender in Bed Management' registry setting must be disabled.
  • The 'Room Sex Validation' registry setting must be set to "N".
  • There must be three clients admitted in inpatient episodes:
  • One is a female (Client A).
  • One is a male (Client B).
  • One has an unknown gender (Client C).
Steps
  1. Access the 'Bed Management' form.
  2. Click [Bed Management].
  3. Click [Search].
  4. Validate the 'Search' panel displays.
  5. Enter "Client A" in the 'Client' field.
  6. Click [Search].
  7. Validate the results display and double click on "Client A".
  8. Validate "Client A" is grey.
  9. Click [Close], [Close], and [Discard].
  10. Access the 'Registry Settings' form.
  11. Enter "Specify gender in bed" in the 'Limit Registry Settings to the Following Search Criteria' field.
  12. Select "Yes" in the 'Include Hidden Registry Settings' field.
  13. Click [View Registry Settings].
  14. Enter "Y" in the 'Registry Setting Value' field.

  • A client must be admitted into an existing inpatient episode (Client B).
  • "Client B" is assigned to Bed A in Room A in Unit A.
  • "Room A" must have available beds (this may be done using the 'Maintain Hospital Bed File' form).
Steps
  1. Access the 'Bed Management' form.
  2. Select "Unit A" in the 'Unit' field.
  3. Select "Room A" in the 'Room' field.
  4. Click [Bed Management].
  5. Select an available bed (Bed B).
  6. Click [Reserve].
  7. Enter "Client A" in the 'Client' field and click [Search].
  8. Click "Client A"
  9. Click [Select].
  10. Select "Standard Priority" from the 'Priority' field.
  11. Click [Submit].
  12. Validate the reservation displays for "Client A".
  13. Validate "Client B" also displays in "Room A".
  14. Close the form.
  15. Access the 'Admission' form.
  16. Populate all required fields for "Client C".
  17. Click [Inpatient/Partial/Day Treatment].
  18. Select "Unit A" from the 'Unit' field.
  19. Select "Room A" from the 'Room' field.
  20. Select "B" from the 'Bed' field.
  21. Enter any value in the 'Room And Board Billing Code' field.
  22. Click [Submit].
  23. Access the 'Bed Management' form.
  24. Select "Unit A" in the 'Unit' field.
  25. Select "Room A" in the 'Room' field.
  26. Click [Bed Management].
  27. Validate the reservation for "Client A" displays for "Bed B"
  28. Hover over "Bed B" and validate the "Client C's" assignment also displays.
  29. Select "Bed B"
  30. Click [Switch].

  33. Validate "Client C" is now in "Bed A"
  34. Validate "Bed B" contains "Client A's" reservation and "Client B's" assignment.

Scenario 4: Bed Management - Validate the 'Room Sex Validation' registry setting
Specific Setup:
  • The 'Room Sex Validation' registry setting must be set to "N".
  • The 'Specify Gender in Bed Management' registry setting must be enabled.
  • There must be three clients:
  • A male client must be admitted in an inpatient episode (Client A).
  • A female client must be admitted in an inpatient episode (Client B).
  • A client with an unknown sex must be admitted in an inpatient episode (Client C).
  • "Client A", "Client B", and "Client C" are all admitted into the same unit and room (Room A).
  • A new room containing three beds must be created using the 'Maintain Hospital Bed File' form (Room B).
Steps
  1. Access the 'Registry Settings' form.
  2. Enter "Room sex validation" in the 'Limit Registry Settings to the Following Search Criteria' field.
  3. Select "Yes" in the 'Include Hidden Registry Settings' field.
  4. Click [View Registry Settings].
  5. Enter "E" in the 'Registry Setting Value' field.
  6. Click [Submit].
  7. Validate a 'Registry Editor Filing' dialog and click [OK] and [No].
  8. Logout and back in.
  9. Access the 'Bed Management' form.
  10. Select "Unit A" in the 'Unit' field.
  11. Click [Bed Management].
  12. Expand [Room A].
  13. Select "Client A" and click [Switch].
  14. Select an open bed in "Room B" and click [Switch].
  15. Validate "Room B" is now blue and contains "Client A".
  16. Select "Client B" and click [Switch].
  17. Select an open bed in "Room B" and click [Switch].
  18. Validate a 'Bed Switch Error' dialog stating: "Client is a female but there are patients in this room that are not. Select a different room." and click [OK].
  19. Select "Client C" and click [Switch].
  20. Select an open bed in "Room B" and click [Switch].

Scenario 1: OE NX - Validate that 'Additional Order Details' come over when copying a dietary-oral order and administer in eMAR
Specific Setup:
  • A dietary-oral-type order code must exist. (Order Code A)
  • A client must have an active episode. (Client A)
  • “Client A” must have a ‘Date of Birth’, ‘Sex’ and address on file in the ‘Update Client Data’ form, as well as information filed in the ‘Allergies and Hypersensitivities’ form, ‘Diagnosis’ form, and in the ‘Height’ and ‘Weight’ fields in the ‘Vitals Entry’ form.
Steps
  1. Select 'Client A' and access the Order Entry Console.
  2. Search for and select "Order Code A" in the 'New Order' field.
  3. Click [Additional Order Details].
  4. Select "Low Sodium" and "Low Sugar" in the 'Diet Restrictions' field.
  5. Click [New Row].
  6. Select "Glucerna" in the 'Diet Supplement' cell.
  7. Set the 'Portion' cell to "1".
  8. Select all values in the 'Days of the Week' cell.
  9. Select all values in the 'Meal Periods' cell.
  10. Select "Routine" in the 'Routine or PRN' cell.
  11. Enter any value into the 'Comments' cell. (ex. if meal is not fully eaten give the client a shake.)
  12. Click [Save].
  13. Select "As Needed" in the 'Frequency' field.
  14. Enter "28" in the 'Duration' field and click [Days].
  15. Click [Add to Scratchpad].
  16. Validate the 'Diet Restrictions' are displayed in the 'Scratchpad'.
  17. Click [Sign].
  18. Validate that the 'Order grid' contains an order for "Order Code A Restrictions: Low Sodium // Low Sugar As Needed"
  19. Select the order and click [Copy].
  20. Click [Additional Order Details].
  21. Validate that "Low Sodium" and "Low Sugar" are selected in the 'Diet Restrictions' field.
  22. Validate that a 'Diet Supplement' of "Glucerna" is displayed.
  23. Validate "1" is displayed in the 'Portion' cell.
  24. Validate that all 'Day of the Week' are selected.
  25. Validate that all 'Meal Periods' are selected.

Specific Setup:

  • A client must have an active episode. (Client A)
  • “Client A” must have a ‘Date of Birth’, ‘Sex’ and address on file in the ‘Update Client Data’ form, as well as information filed in the ‘Allergies and Hypersensitivities’ form, ‘Diagnosis’ form, and in the ‘Height’ and ‘Weight’ fields in the ‘Vitals Entry’ form.
Steps
  1. Select 'Client A' and access the Order Entry Console.
  2. Search for and select "Order Code A" in the 'New Order' field.
  3. Click [Additional Order Details].
  4. Select "Low Sodium" and "Low Sugar" in the 'Diet Restrictions' field.
  5. Click [New Row].
  6. Select "Glucerna" in the 'Diet Supplement' cell.
  7. Set the 'Portion' cell to "1".
  8. Select all values in the 'Days of the Week' cell.
  9. Select all values in the 'Meal Periods' cell.
  10. Select "Routine" in the 'Routine or PRN' cell.
  11. Enter any value into the 'Comments' cell. (ex. if meal is not fully eaten give the client a shake.)
  12. Click [Save].
  13. Select "As Needed" in the 'Frequency' field.
  14. Enter "30" in the 'Duration' field and click [Days].
  15. Click [Add to Scratchpad].
  16. Validate the 'Diet Restrictions' are displayed in the 'Scratchpad'.
  17. Click [Sign].
  18. Validate that the 'Order grid' contains an order for "Order Code A Restrictions: Low Sodium // Low Sugar As Needed"
  19. Select the order and click [Modify].
  20. Click [Additional Order Details].
  21. Validate that "Low Sodium" and "Low Sugar" are selected in the 'Diet Restrictions' field.
  22. Select any other value in the 'Diet Restrictions' field.
  23. Validate that a 'Diet Supplement' of "Glucerna" is displayed.
  24. Validate "1" is displayed in the 'Portion' cell.

  • “Client A” must have a ‘Date of Birth’, ‘Sex’ and address on file in the ‘Update Client Data’ form, as well as information filed in the ‘Allergies and Hypersensitivities’ form, ‘Diagnosis’ form, and in the ‘Height’ and ‘Weight’ fields in the ‘Vitals Entry’ form.
Steps
  1. Select "Client A" and access the Order Entry Console.
  2. Search for and select "ADVIL 200 MG TABLET ORAL" from the 'New order' field.
  3. Set the 'Dose' field to "1".
  4. Validate the 'Dose Unit' field contains "Tablet".
  5. Set the 'Freq' field to "3 TIMES A DAY".
  6. Set the 'Duration' field to "11" and click [Days].
  7. Validate the 'Days Supply' field contains "11".
  8. Validate the 'Dispense Qty' field contains "33".

  14. Access the 'Import Client Picture' form.
  15. Enter "Client A" in the 'Client' field.
  16. Validate "Picture A" displays as expected in the 'Picture' field.
  17. Click [Clear Image].
  18. Validate "No Picture" displays in the 'Picture' field.
  19. Click [Acquire Image].
  20. Select "Picture A".
  21. Validate "Picture A" displays as expected in the 'Picture' field.
  22. Click [Submit] and [No].
  23. Log out.
  24. Log in as "User B".
  25. Attempt to access the 'Import Client Picture' form.
  26. Validate this form is not an option.
  27. Select "Client A" and access the 'Client Dashboard'.
  28. Hover over the 'Client Image' and validate 'Enlarge' is the only option.
  29. Click [Enlarge].
  30. Validate "Picture A" displays as expected.
  31. Click [Close].
  32. Close the dashboard.
  33. Select "Client B" and access the 'Client Dashboard'.
  34. Hover over the 'Client Image' area and validate no options display.
  35. Close the dashboard.
Scenario 2: Validate form access in the Client Header
Specific Setup:
  • A client must be admitted into an active episode and have 100 allergies on file (Client A).
  • A client must be admitted into an active episode (Client B).
  • There must be two users:
  • A user that is logged in and has full access to forms (User A).
  • A user that does not have access to the 'Allergies and Hypersensitivities' form (User B).
  • The users' myDay view must be configured to include the Client Information header (View A).
  • Please note: This is for Avatar NX systems only.
Steps
  1. Select "Client A" and navigate to "View A".
  2. Hover over the 'Allergies (100)' link in the 'Client Header'.
  3. Validate a flyover displays fifteen allergies listed and 85 more.
  4. Click the 'Allergies (100)' link.
  5. Validate a menu displays and the user can scroll through all the allergies.
  6. Close the menu.
  7. Click edit icon.
  8. Validate the 'Allergies and Hypersensitivities' form opens.
  9. Validate the edit icon no longer displays in the 'Client Header'.

Scenario 3: Condensed Client Header validations
Specific Setup:
  • The logged in user must have access to the 'Client Lookup/Header Configuration Manager' form (User A).
  • The 'Bed Board POV' widget is installed and enabled.
  • Five "Client Alerts" are defined in the 'CarePOV Management' form with icons.
  • A Documentation View must be set up on a user's view containing the 'All Documents' widget and the 'Console Widget Viewer' ('All Documents' view).
  • A client is enrolled in an existing episode and has data filed for the five client alerts to display (Client A).
  • "Client A" must have allergies and a client photo on file.
  • A program is defined (Program A).
  • A client is admitted in "Program A" (Client B).
  • Please note: This is for Avatar NX systems only.
  • This is for initial configuration. Once the 'Expand/Collapse' toggle has been selected, it will override settings in the 'Client Lookup/Header Configuration Manager' form for the user.
Steps
  1. Access the 'Client Lookup/Header Configuration Manager' form.
  2. Validate the "Condensed Header" and "Condensed Header Override" fields display.
  3. Navigate to the 'Condensed Header' tab.
  4. Validate "Bed Board Alerts" is selected in the 'Condensed Header Field Position 2' field.
  5. Select any value in the 'Condensed Header Field Position 1' field.
  6. Select "Yes" in the 'Default Views To Condensed Header' field.
  7. Select "Yes" in the 'Default Client Entity Forms to Condensed Header' field.
  8. Validate text displays stating: "Note: This setting will default all views configured to include client information header in view to utilize the condensed header. Individual views may still override this setting via the options 'Default Client Information header to condensed view' in View Definition > View Designer."
  9. Navigate to the 'Condensed Header Override' tab.
  10. Click [Add New Item].
  11. Select "Program A" in the 'Program' field.
  12. Select any value in the 'Condensed Header Field Position 1' field.
  13. Select any value in the 'Condensed Header Field Position 2' field.
  14. Select "No" in the 'Default Client Entity Forms To Condensed Header' field.
  15. Click [Submit].
  16. Log out.
  17. Log in as "User A".
  18. Navigate to the 'All Documents' view.
  19. Select "Client A" from the 'My Clients' list.
  20. Validate the client information header is condensed.
  21. Validate the value selected in the 'Condensed Header Field Position 1' field displays.
  22. Validate the 'Bed Board Alerts' display.
  23. Click [View] and validate a menu displaying all 'Active Alerts'.
  24. Close the menu.
  25. Click [Allergies] and validate a menu displaying allergies.
  26. Close the menu.
  27. Make the browser window smaller.
  28. Validate no white displays in the client information header.
  29. Maximize the browser window.
  30. Click the 'Expand/Collapse' toggle.
  31. Validate the client information header is full size.
  32. Navigate to the 'myDay' view.
  33. Navigate to the 'All Documents' view.
  34. Validate the client information header is full size.
  35. Launch the 'Client Dashboard'.
  36. Validate the client information header is full size.
  37. Click the 'Expand/Collapse' toggle.
  38. Validate the client information header is condensed.
  39. Click [Close].
  40. Navigate to the 'myDay' view.
  41. Access the 'Progress Notes (Group and Individual)' form.
  42. Validate the client information header is condensed.
  43. Clear the 'Select Client' field.
  44. Enter and select "Client B" in the 'Select Client' field.
  45. Validate the client information header is full size.
  46. Close the form.
  47. Access the 'View Definition' form.
  48. Click [Select View].
  49. Select "Add New View" in the 'Select Views' field.
  50. Click [OK].
  51. Enter any value in the 'View ID' field.
  52. Enter "View A" in the 'View Description' field.
  53. Select "Home View" in the 'View Type' field.
  54. Select "Yes" in the 'Allow User To Customize View' field.
  55. Click [Launch View Designer].
  56. Validate 'Default Client Information header to condensed view' is disabled.
  57. Click [Include Client Information header in view].
  58. Validate 'Default Client Information header to condensed view' is now enabled.
  59. Select the desired widgets and arrange them as desired.
  60. Click [Submit], [Submit], and [No].
  61. Access the 'NX View Definition' form.
  62. Select "User" in the 'User or Role' field.
  63. Enter and select "User A" in the 'Select User' field.
  64. Click [Additional myDay Views].
  65. Select "View A" and click [OK].
  66. Click [File].
  67. Validate an 'Avatar NX View Definition' dialog stating: "Filed" and click [OK].
