Scenario 1: Validate the ability to switch system codes
Specific Setup:
- There must be two system codes defined (Code A and Code B).
- There must be two users defined (User A and User B)
- "User A" must exist in both system codes.
- "User B" must only exist in "Code A".
Steps
- Log in to "Code A" as "User A".
- Open the User Menu.
- Validate 'Switch' displays.
- Click 'Switch'.
- Validate a 'Confirm' dialog stating: "Are you sure you want to log off the current system code?" and click [Yes].
- Validate the system is selected and disabled.
- Validate a countdown timer stating "Returning to the login screen in 59 seconds..."
- Select "Code B" in the 'System Code' field.
- Click [Switch System Code].
- Validate the user is logged into "Code B".
- Open the User Menu.
- Click 'Switch'.
- Validate a 'Confirm' dialog stating: "Are you sure you want to log off the current system code?" and click [Yes].
- Click [Change User].
- Log in to "Code A" as "User B".
- Open the User Menu.
- Validate 'Switch' displays.
- Click 'Switch'.
- Validate a 'Confirm' dialog stating: "Are you sure you want to log off the current system code?" and click [Yes].
- Validate the system is selected and disabled.
- Validate a countdown timer stating "Returning to the login screen in 59 seconds..."
- Select "Code B" in the 'System Code' field.
- Click [Switch System Code].
- Validate a 'Sign-In' dialog stating: "Login Failed" and click [OK].
- Validate the user is logged out.
- Log in to "Code A" as "User B".
- Open the User Menu.
- Validate 'Switch' displays.
- Click 'Switch'.
- Validate a 'Confirm' dialog stating: "Are you sure you want to log off the current system code?" and click [Yes].
- Validate the system is selected and disabled.
- Validate a countdown timer stating "Returning to the login screen in 59 seconds..."
- Let the timer run down.
- Validate the user is logged out.

'My Calendar' widget - Date Selection
Note - These testing guidelines assume the user is skilled in the use of, at a minimum, the following:
Scenario 1: 'My Calendar' widget - workflow
Specific Setup:
- 'My Calendar' widget is on the HomeView.
- A client must be defined with at least one active episode and have documents filed (Client A).
- A Documentation View must be set up on a user's view containing the 'All Documents' widget and the 'Console Widget Viewer' ('All Documents' view).
- The logged in user must have multiple appointments scheduled on any given day in the current month (Day A).
- Please note: this scenario is for Avatar NX systems.
Steps
- Access the 'Scheduling Calendar' form.
- Right click in any available time slot.
- Click [Add Appointment].
- Enter the desired value in the 'Service Code' field.
- Select "Client A" in the 'Client' field.
- Select the desired episode in the 'Episode' field.
- Select the desired value in the 'Program' field.
- Click [Submit].
- Validate the 'Appointment Grid' contains the new appointment for "Client A".
- Click [Dismiss].
- Navigate to the 'My Calendar' widget.
- Refresh the 'My Calendar' widget.
- Validate the appointment for "Client A" is displayed.
- Access the 'Scheduling Calendar' form.
- Right click on the appointment for "Client A".
- Click [Check In] and [Submit].
- Validate the 'Appointment Grid' contains the checked in appointment for "Client A".
- Click [Dismiss].
- Navigate to the 'My Calendar' widget.
- Refresh the 'My Calendar' widget.
- Validate the checked in appointment for "Client A" is displayed.
- Select the desired value in the 'Time-Slot Duration' field.
- Validate the 'My Calendar' widget displays the checked in appointment for "Client A" using the updated time-slot duration.
- Repeat as needed for additional time-slot durations.
- Click [Month] and validate the 'Month' view displays as expected and contains the checked in appointment for "Client A".

- Select "Client A" and any document.
- Validate the document displays as expected in the 'Console Widget Viewer'.

- Click [Day] and validate the 'Day' view displays as expected and contains the checked in appointment for "Client A".

Scenario 1: Bed Management - Validate client's bed assignment after switching beds
Specific Setup:
- Registry Settings:
- The 'Enable Console Widgets/Views' registry setting is set to "Y" to add the 'Site' tab to the 'Client & Staff' widget. Please note: To see the changes effected by this setting, user must log out of Avatar and re-launch a new Avatar session, and login.
- Admission:
- An existing inpatient client is identified or a new client is added in the inpatient program. Note the Unit, room and the bed assigned to the client.
Steps
- Open the "Bed Management" form.
- Select a unit from the "Unit" drop down list.
- Select a room from the "Room" drop down list.
- Click [Bed Management].
- Click any data row and click [Switch].
- Click another data row to switch beds.
- Click [Switch] at the bottom right of the form.
- Confirm the switch filed successfully.
- Click [Close].
- Click [Print Current Bed Status Report].
- Verify the client is removed from the previous bed and be put in the new bed.
- Click [X].
- Click [Close Form].
- Locate the 'My Clients' ('Clients & Staff') widget.
- Click on the "Site" tab of the 'My Clients' ('Clients & Staff') widget.
- Select the "Unit" radio button.
- Enter the name of "Unit" defined on the system that has client assigned to it.
- Verify correct clients are displayed in the widget under selected unit.
- Open the 'Current Unit Census' form.
- Select "Individual" in the 'For Individual Unit Or All' field to generate the report for desired unit the client is admitted to in the facility.
- Click [Process].
- Verify the report displays admissions, discharges, and transfers for the unit on the date the report is run.
- Activity report - Activity in the unit over the past 24 hours.
- Current Unit Census report - Current unit client population.
- Census Summary Totals report - Current summaries for a unit.
- Click [Dismiss].
- Click [Yes] on 'Form Return' message.
- Select "All" in the 'For Individual Unit Or All' field to generate the report for desired unit the client is admitted to in the facility.
- Click [Process].
- Verify the report displays admissions, discharges, and transfers for the unit on the date the report is run.
- Activity report - Activity in the unit over the past 24 hours.
- Current Unit Census report - Verify the client will be removed from the previous unit/room/ bed and be put in the new unit/room/bed.
- Census Summary Totals report - Current summaries for a unit.
- Click [Dismiss].
- Click [No] on 'Form Return' message.
Scenario 2: Bed Management - validate the 'Specify Gender in Bed Management' registry setting
Specific Setup:
- The 'Specify Gender in Bed Management' registry setting must be disabled.
- The 'Room Sex Validation' registry setting must be set to "N".
- There must be three clients admitted in inpatient episodes:
- One is a female (Client A).
- One is a male (Client B).
- One has an unknown gender (Client C).
Steps
- Access the 'Bed Management' form.
- Click [Bed Management].
- Click [Search].
- Validate the 'Search' panel displays.
- Enter "Client A" in the 'Client' field.
- Click [Search].
- Validate the results display and double click on "Client A".
- Validate "Client A" is grey.
- Click [Close], [Close], and [Discard].
- Access the 'Registry Settings' form.
- Enter "Specify gender in bed" in the 'Limit Registry Settings to the Following Search Criteria' field.
- Select "Yes" in the 'Include Hidden Registry Settings' field.
- Click [View Registry Settings].
- Enter "Y" in the 'Registry Setting Value' field.
- Click [Submit].
- Validate a 'Registry Editor Filing' dialog and click [OK].
- Validate a 'Form Return' dialog and click [No].
- Logout.
- Login.
- Access the 'Bed Management' form.
- Click [Bed Management].
- Click [Search].
- Validate the 'Search' panel displays.
- Enter "Client A" in the 'Client' field.
- Click [Search].
- Validate the results display and double click on "Client A".
- Validate "Client A" is pink.
- Click "Search" in the bottom left corner.
- Enter "Client B" in the 'Client' field.
- Click [Search].
- Validate the results display and double click on "Client B".
- Validate "Client B" is blue.
- Click "Search" in the bottom left corner.
- Enter "Client C" in the 'Client' field.
- Click [Search].
- Validate the results display and double click on "Client C".
- Validate "Client C" is grey.
- Click [Close], [Close], and [Discard].
Scenario 3: Bed Management - Validate 'Switch' functionality when there is a Reservation
Specific Setup:
- A client must be admitted into an existing inpatient episode (Client A).
- A client must be admitted into an existing inpatient episode (Client B).
- "Client B" is assigned to Bed A in Room A in Unit A.
- "Room A" must have available beds (this may be done using the 'Maintain Hospital Bed File' form).
Steps
- Access the 'Bed Management' form.
- Select "Unit A" in the 'Unit' field.
- Select "Room A" in the 'Room' field.
- Click [Bed Management].
- Select an available bed (Bed B).
- Click [Reserve].
- Enter "Client A" in the 'Client' field and click [Search].
- Click "Client A"
- Click [Select].
- Select "Standard Priority" from the 'Priority' field.
- Click [Submit].
- Validate the reservation displays for "Client A".
- Validate "Client B" also displays in "Room A".
- Close the form.
- Access the 'Admission' form.
- Populate all required fields for "Client C".
- Click [Inpatient/Partial/Day Treatment].
- Select "Unit A" from the 'Unit' field.
- Select "Room A" from the 'Room' field.
- Select "B" from the 'Bed' field.
- Enter any value in the 'Room And Board Billing Code' field.
- Click [Submit].
- Access the 'Bed Management' form.
- Select "Unit A" in the 'Unit' field.
- Select "Room A" in the 'Room' field.
- Click [Bed Management].
- Validate the reservation for "Client A" displays for "Bed B"
- Hover over "Bed B" and validate the "Client C's" assignment also displays.
- Select "Bed B"
- Click [Switch].
- Select "Bed A".
- Click [Switch].
- Validate "Client C" is now in "Bed A"
- Validate "Bed B" contains "Client A's" reservation and "Client B's" assignment.
- Close the form.
Scenario 4: Bed Management - Validate the 'Room Sex Validation' registry setting
Specific Setup:
- The 'Room Sex Validation' registry setting must be set to "N".
- The 'Specify Gender in Bed Management' registry setting must be enabled.
- There must be three clients:
- A male client must be admitted in an inpatient episode (Client A).
- A female client must be admitted in an inpatient episode (Client B).
- A client with an unknown sex must be admitted in an inpatient episode (Client C).
- "Client A", "Client B", and "Client C" are all admitted into the same unit and room (Room A).
- A new room containing three beds must be created using the 'Maintain Hospital Bed File' form (Room B).
Steps
- Access the 'Registry Settings' form.
- Enter "Room sex validation" in the 'Limit Registry Settings to the Following Search Criteria' field.
- Select "Yes" in the 'Include Hidden Registry Settings' field.
- Click [View Registry Settings].
- Enter "E" in the 'Registry Setting Value' field.
- Click [Submit].
- Validate a 'Registry Editor Filing' dialog and click [OK] and [No].
- Logout and back in.
- Access the 'Bed Management' form.
- Select "Unit A" in the 'Unit' field.
- Click [Bed Management].
- Expand [Room A].
- Select "Client A" and click [Switch].
- Select an open bed in "Room B" and click [Switch].
- Validate "Room B" is now blue and contains "Client A".
- Select "Client B" and click [Switch].
- Select an open bed in "Room B" and click [Switch].
- Validate a 'Bed Switch Error' dialog stating: "Client is a female but there are patients in this room that are not. Select a different room." and click [OK].
- Select "Client C" and click [Switch].
- Select an open bed in "Room B" and click [Switch].
- Validate a 'Bed Switch Error' dialog stating: "Client is a unknown but there are patients in this room that are not. Select a different room." and click [OK].
- Validate "Room B" only contains "Client A".
- Close the form.
- Access the 'Registry Settings' form.
- Enter "Room sex validation" in the 'Limit Registry Settings to the Following Search Criteria' field.
- Select "Yes" in the 'Include Hidden Registry Settings' field.
- Click [View Registry Settings].
- Enter "W" in the 'Registry Setting Value' field.
- Click [Submit].
- Validate a 'Registry Editor Filing' dialog and click [OK] and [No].
- Logout and back in.
- Access the 'Bed Management' form.

- Expand [Room A].
- Select "Client B" and click [Switch].

- Validate "Room B" is no longer blue and contains "Client A" and "Client B".
- Close the form.
- Access the 'Registry Settings' form.
- Enter "Room sex validation" in the 'Limit Registry Settings to the Following Search Criteria' field.
- Select "Yes" in the 'Include Hidden Registry Settings' field.
- Click [View Registry Settings].
- Enter "N" in the 'Registry Setting Value' field.
- Click [Submit].
- Validate a 'Registry Editor Filing' dialog and click [OK] and [No].

Scenario 1: OE NX - Validate that 'Additional Order Details' come over when copying a dietary-oral order and administer in eMAR
Specific Setup:
- A dietary-oral-type order code must exist. (Order Code A)
- A client must have an active episode. (Client A)
- “Client A” must have a ‘Date of Birth’, ‘Sex’ and address on file in the ‘Update Client Data’ form, as well as information filed in the ‘Allergies and Hypersensitivities’ form, ‘Diagnosis’ form, and in the ‘Height’ and ‘Weight’ fields in the ‘Vitals Entry’ form.
Steps
- Select 'Client A' and access the Order Entry Console.
- Search for and select "Order Code A" in the 'New Order' field.
- Click [Additional Order Details].
- Select "Low Sodium" and "Low Sugar" in the 'Diet Restrictions' field.
- Click [New Row].
- Select "Glucerna" in the 'Diet Supplement' cell.
- Set the 'Portion' cell to "1".
- Select all values in the 'Days of the Week' cell.
- Select all values in the 'Meal Periods' cell.
- Select "Routine" in the 'Routine or PRN' cell.
- Enter any value into the 'Comments' cell. (ex. if meal is not fully eaten give the client a shake.)
- Click [Save].
- Select "As Needed" in the 'Frequency' field.
- Enter "28" in the 'Duration' field and click [Days].
- Click [Add to Scratchpad].

- Validate that all 'Day of the Week' are selected.

- Select 'Client A' and access the Order Entry Console.
- Search for and select "Order Code A" in the 'New Order' field.
- Click [Additional Order Details].
- Select "Low Sodium" and "Low Sugar" in the 'Diet Restrictions' field.
- Click [New Row].

- Select the order and click [Reorder].
- Click [Additional Order Details] and click [Save].
- Click [Add to Scratchpad].
- Validate the 'Scratchpad' contains the order for "Order Code A" with 3 'Restrictions' and an 'Action' of "REORDER".
- Click [Sign].

Specific Setup:
- The 'Default to Client Reported' checkbox must be checked in the 'Order Entry User Definition' form for the logged in user.
- Please log out of the application and log back in after completing the above configuration.
- A client must have an inpatient episode whose program or unit are configured in the ‘External Pharmacy Setup’ form. (Client A)
- “Client A” must have a ‘Date of Birth’, ‘Sex’ and address on file in the ‘Update Client Data’ form, as well as information filed in the ‘Allergies and Hypersensitivities’ form, ‘Diagnosis’ form, and in the ‘Height’ and ‘Weight’ fields in the ‘Vitals Entry’ form.
Steps
- Select "Client A" and access the Order Entry Console.
- Click the 'Home Medications' tab.
- Uncheck the 'Reported' checkbox.
- Search for and select "PriLOSEC 10 MG, Capsule, Delayed Release, Oral Capsule" from the 'New order' field.
- Set the 'Dose' field to "1".
- Validate the 'Dose Unit' field contains "Capsule".
- Set the 'Frequency' field to "3 TIMES A DAY".
- Set the 'Days Supply' field to "11" and press Tab.
- Validate the 'Dispense Qty' field contains "33".
- Set the 'Dispense Qty' to "0".
- Validate the 'Direction' field contains "Take one (1) capsule by mouth three times a day".
- Click [Add to Scratchpad] and [Final Review].
- Validate the 'Final Review' dialog is displayed.

Scenario 1: Failed Login Report - Login with an Invalid Password
Specific Setup:
- User must have had at least one failed login attempt.
Steps
- Access the 'Failed Login Report' form.
- Validate the 'Login Start Date' and 'Login End Date' fields contain the current date.
- Click [Process].
- Validate the 'Failed Login Report' displays as expected.
- Select any value in the 'Select Zoom' field.
- Validate the report displays as expected.
- Click [Close].
- Enter any new dates in the 'Login Start Date' and 'Login End Date' fields.
- Validate the "Process" button is enabled.
- Click [Process].
- Validate the 'Failed Login Report' displays as expected.
- Click [Close] and close the form.
Scenario 2: Form and Table Documentation - field validations - Include all
Steps
- Access the 'Form and Table Documentation' form.
- Select "Form" in the 'Type of Documentation' field.
- Select "Individual Form" in the 'Individual or All Forms' field.
- Select the desired form in the 'Form To Be Documented' field.
- Select the desired value in the 'Include Dictionary Values' field.
- Select the desired value in the 'Include User Defined Help Messages' field.
- Select the desired value in the 'Include Other Form(s) Data Element Cross Reference List' field.
- Click [Process].
- Validate the 'Form and Table Documentation' report is displayed and contains all fields for the selected form.
- Validate the ability to page through the report as expected by clicking [Next Page] and [Previous Page].
- Click the 'Search' field.
- Enter any value in the 'Search' field and click [Search].
- Validate the expected results display.
- Click [Search Whole Word] and [Search].
- Validate the expected results display. If no results are returned, validate a 'Results' dialog stating "No search results." and click [OK].
- Validate the 'Search' field is cleared.
- Click [Search Whole Word].
- Enter the desired value in the 'Search' field and click [Search].
- Validate the expected results display.
- Click the 'View' field.
- Select the desired value in the 'Select Zoom' field and validate the report displays in the corresponding value.
- Click [Close] and [Discard].

Treatment Plan - 'Assigned Services' grid
Scenario 1: Treatment Plan (Interventions) - "Assigned Services" grid functionality
Specific Setup:
- The client must be admitted to an active episode. (Client A).
- Registry setting 'Avatar CWS->Treatment Plan->->->->Enable Service Entry Restriction by Client Treatment Plan' must be enabled.
- Registry setting 'Avatar PM->System Maintenance->Program Maintenance->->->Activate Program/Service Code Filter' must be enabled.
- Document routing must be enabled for the 'Treatment Plan' form through 'Document Routing Setup'.
Steps
- Select "Client A" and access the 'Treatment Plan' form.
- Click [Add].
- Set the 'Plan Date' field to the current date.
- Select any value in the 'Plan Type' field.
- Select any value from the 'Problem List'.
- Enter any value in the 'Strengths' field.
- Enter any value in the 'Weakness' field.
- Enter any value in the 'Discharge Planning' field.
- Select "Draft" in the 'Draft/Final' field.
- Click [Launch Plan].
- Select the problem from the 'Tree View'.
- Select any value from the 'Status' field.
- Validate that all the fields display as expected.
- Add a 'Goal' and 'Objective' if desired and validate the fields display as expected.
- Click [Add New Intervention].
- Enter any value in the 'Intervention' text field.
- Select any value from the 'Status' field.
- Click [Add Service] in the 'Assigned Services' field.
- Validate the 'Assigned Services' gird fields are displayed in the following order: Service Program, Service Code, Frequency, Duration, Amount, Service Mode, Place of Service, Agency and Staff Responsible.
- Populate the 'Service Program' field.
- Enter a search value in the 'Service Code' field to bring up the listing of service code values.
- Select any service code.
- Validate that the service code field is populated as expected in the 'Service Code' field.
- Select any value in the 'Frequency' field.
- Select any value in the 'Duration' field.
- Enter any value in the 'Amount' field.
- Select any value in the 'Service Mode' field.
- Select any value in the 'Place of Service field.
- Enter and value in the 'Agency and Staff Responsible' field.
- Click [Add Service] in the 'Assigned Services' field.
- Populate all desired fields.
- Click [Return To Plan].
- Click [Submit].
- Select "Client A" and access the Chart View.
- Select "Treatment Plan" from the 'Forms List'.
- Validate the draft 'Treatment Plan' data filed in the previous steps is displayed.
- Validate the 'Assigned Services' field contains the data in the following order: Service Program, Service Code, Frequency, Duration, Amount, Service Mode, Place of Service, Agency and Staff Responsible.
- Close the chart.
- Select "Client A" and access the 'Treatment Plan' form.
- Click to edit the row just submitted.
- Click [Launch Plan].
- Click the 'Interventions' item on the plan tree.
- Click [Add New Intervention].
- Enter any value in the 'Intervention' text field.
- Select any value from the 'Status' field.
- In the 'Assigned Services' grid, click [Copy Service].
- In the 'Add Services From Other Interventions' dialog, choose the service added in the intervention previously submitted.
- Click [Copy].
- Validate that the 'Assigned Services' grid columns are populated with the service information, as expected.
- Click [Copy Service].
- Validate that the service previously copied is disabled and select the remaining service.
- Validate the services display as expected and neither are duplicated.
- Select the 'Assigned Services' row just added.
- Click the [Delete Service] button.
- Validate that the service row is removed from the 'Assigned Services' grid, as expected.
- Click [Return to Plan].
- Select "Final" in the 'Draft/Final' field.
- Click [Submit].
- Validate the document routing preview displays the 'Assigned Services' data in the following order: Service Program, Service Code, Frequency, Duration, Amount, Service Mode, Place of Service, Agency and Staff Responsible.
- Click [Accept].
- Enter the password associated with the logged in user and click [Verify].
- Select "Client A" and access the Chart View.
- Select "Treatment Plan" from the 'Forms List'.
- Validate the finalized 'Treatment Plan' data filed in the previous steps is displayed.
- Validate the 'Assigned Services' field contains the data in the following order: Service Program, Service Code, Frequency, Duration, Amount, Service Mode, Place of Service, Agency and Staff Responsible.
- Close the chart.
