Note - These testing guidelines assume the user is skilled in the use of, at a minimum, the following:
  • Form and Table Documentation (PM)
Scenario 1: Form and Table Documentation - field validations - Include all
Steps
  1. Access the 'Form and Table Documentation' form.
  2. Select "Form" in the 'Type of Documentation' field.
  3. Select "Individual Form" in the 'Individual or All Forms' field.
  4. Select the desired form in the 'Form To Be Documented' field.
  5. Select the desired value in the 'Include Dictionary Values' field.
  6. Select the desired value in the 'Include User Defined Help Messages' field.
  7. Select the desired value in the 'Include Other Form(s) Data Element Cross Reference List' field.
  8. Click [Process].
  9. Validate the 'Form and Table Documentation' report is displayed and contains all fields for the selected form.
  10. Validate the ability to page through the report as expected by clicking [Next Page] and [Previous Page].
  11. Click the 'Search' field.
  12. Enter any value in the 'Search' field and click [Search].
  13. Validate the expected results display.
  14. Click [Search Whole Word] and [Search].
  15. Validate the expected results display. If no results are returned, validate a 'Results' dialog stating "No search results." and click [OK].
  16. Validate the 'Search' field is cleared.
  17. Click [Search Whole Word].
  18. Enter the desired value in the 'Search' field and click [Search].
  19. Validate the expected results display.
  20. Click the 'View' field.
  21. Select the desired value in the 'Select Zoom' field and validate the report displays in the corresponding value.
  22. Click [Close] and [Discard].

Scenario 1: Financial Eligibility - Add/Edit/Delete financial eligibility record
Specific Setup:
  • Guarantor/Payors:
  • An existing guarantor is identified. Note the guarantor code/name.

  • A new client is created or an existing client is identified who does not have 'Fast Financial Eligibility', 'Family Financial Eligibility', 'Financial Eligibility', or 'Cross Episode Financial Eligibility' records created (Client A).
Steps
  1. Select "Client A" and open the 'Financial Eligibility' form.
  2. Validate the 'Admission Date', 'Episode Number', 'Program', and 'Social Security Number' fields are populated, disabled, and readable.
  3. Select the 'Guarantor Selection' tab.
  4. Validate the 'Guarantor Information' grid is required.
  5. Validate the 'Guarantor #' field is required.
  6. Select any value from the 'Guarantor #' field.
  7. Validate the 'Guarantor Plan' field is required.
  8. Select any value from the 'Guarantor Plan' field.
  9. Validate the 'Customize Guarantor Plan' field is required.
  10. Select any value from the 'Customize Guarantor Plan' field.
  11. Validate the 'Eligibility Verified' field is required.
  12. Select any value from the 'Eligibility Verified' field.
  13. Validate the 'Coverage Effective Date' field is required.
  14. Set the 'Coverage Effective Date' field to any value.
  15. Validate the 'Client's Relationship To Subscriber' field is required.
  16. Select "Self" from the 'Client's Relationship To Subscriber' field.
  17. Validate the 'Subscriber's Name', the 'Subscriber's Address - Street Line 1', the 'Subscriber Address - Zip', the 'Subscriber Address - City', the 'Subscriber Address - State', the 'Subscriber's Social Security #', and the 'Subscriber Sex' fields are required and populate with "Client A".
  18. Tab down until the 'Subscriber Address - County' field is in focus.
  19. Press the 'space' key.
  20. Validate the search field is in focus.
  21. Enter any value and validate the expected search results display.
  22. Click the 'Subscriber Address - County' field so it is in focus again.
  23. Press any letter any validate the expected result displays.
  24. Validate the 'Subscriber Assignment Of Benefits' field is required.
  25. Select any value from 'Subscriber Assignment Of Benefits' field.
  26. Validate the 'Subscriber Release of Info' field is required.
  27. Select any value from the 'Subscriber Release of Info' field.
  28. Validate the 'Subscriber's Covered Days' field is required.
  29. Validate the 'Maximum Covered Dollars' field is required.
  30. Select the 'Financial Eligibility' tab.
  31. Select the Guarantor previously defined in the 'Guarantor #1' field.
  32. Click [Submit].
  33. Select "Client A" and open the 'Financial Eligibility' form.
  34. Edit the financial eligibility record that was entered.
  35. Validate the data entered is retrieved and displayed.
  36. Click [Add New Item].
  37. Validate that a new blank row is added.
  38. Click [Delete Selected Item].
  39. Validate the "Are you Sure?" dialogue.
  40. Click [Yes].
  41. Validate that the blank row is deleted successfully.
  42. Exit the form.

  10. Validate the user is returned to the 'myDay' view.
  11. Access "Assessment A".
  12. Validate "Practitioner A" is not selected.
  13. Click [Cancel].

Scenario 1: Console Widget Viewer - Progress Notes
Specific Setup:
  • A client is enrolled in an existing episode (Client A).
  • A user must have a console widget configured for Progress Notes in the 'Console Widget Configuration' form.
  • A user must have a view configured containing the Console Widget and Console Widget Viewer (View A).
  • The 'Limit Console Widget Viewer To Text Only' registry setting must be enabled.
Steps
  1. Access 'Progress Notes (Group and Individual)' for "Client A".
  2. Select "Independent Note" in the 'Progress Note For' field.
  3. Select the desired value in the 'Note Type' field.
  4. Enter the desired value in the 'Notes Field' field.
  5. Select "Draft" in the 'Draft/Final' field.
  6. Submit the note.
  7. Select "Client A" and navigate to "View A".
  8. Validate the 'Progress Notes' console widget contains the draft note filed in the previous steps and select it.
  9. Click [View].
  10. Validate the 'Console Widget Viewer' displays the draft progress note details filed in the previous steps as text.
  11. Click [Open Record].
  12. Validate the draft note is opened.
  13. Select "Final" in the 'Draft/Final' field.
  14. Submit the note.
  15. Select "Client A" and navigate back to "View A".
  16. Validate the 'Progress Notes' console widget contains the finalized note filed in the previous steps and select it.
  17. Click [View].
  18. Validate the 'Console Widget Viewer' displays the finalized progress note details filed in the previous steps as text.
  19. Click [Open Record].
  20. Validate a message is displayed stating "This note is already set to 'Final'."
  21. Click [OK] and validate the finalized note is not displayed.
Scenario 2: Console Widget Viewer - Treatment Plan
Specific Setup:
  • A client is enrolled in an existing episode (Client A).
  • A user must have a console widget configured for the Treatment Plan in the 'Console Widget Configuration' form.
  • A user must have a view configured containing the Console Widget and Console Widget Viewer (View A).
Steps
  1. Select "Client A" and access the 'Treatment Plan' form.
  2. Enter the desired date in the 'Plan Date' field.
  3. Select the desired value in the 'Plan Type' field.
  4. Select "Draft" in the 'Treatment Plan Status' field.
  5. Click [Launch Plan].
  6. Add any problem.
  7. Click [Return To Plan] and [OK].
  8. Submit the form.
  9. Select "Client A" and navigate to "View A".
  10. Validate the 'Treatment Plan' console widget contains the draft treatment plan filed in the previous steps and select it.
  11. Click [View].
  12. Validate the 'Console Widget Viewer' displays the draft treatment plan details filed in the previous steps.
  13. Click [Open Record].
  14. Validate the draft treatment plan is opened.
  15. Select "Final" in the 'Treatment Plan Status' field.
  16. Submit the note.
  17. Select "Client A" and navigate back to "View A".
  18. Validate the 'Treatment Plan' console widget contains the finalized treatment plan filed in the previous steps and select it.
  19. Click [View].
  20. Validate the 'Console Widget Viewer' displays the finalized treatment plan details filed in the previous steps.
  21. Click [Open Record].
  22. Validate a message is displayed stating "This plan is marked as Final. Changes are not allowed. Do you want to continue?"
  23. Click [No].
Scenario 3: 'All Documents' Widget - Validate filtering when switching between clients
Specific Setup:
  • A Documentation View must be set up on a user's view containing the 'All Documents' widget and the 'Console Widget Viewer' ('All Documents' view).
  • Two clients are admitted into two active episodes with documents on file in the 'All Documents' Widget.
  • The 'Default Value for Console View Episodes Registry Setting' must be set to "1".
Steps
  1. Select "Client A" and navigate to the 'All Documents' view.
  2. Validate the 'Episode Header' field contains "All Episodes".
  3. Select "Treatment Plan" from the side menu.
  4. Validate the 'All Documents' widget only displays treatment plan records.
  5. Select a 'Treatment Plan' record and validate the 'Console Widget Viewer' displays the selected plan.
  6. Validate the 'Launch Report' button exists.
  7. Click [Launch Report].
  8. Validate a report displays.
  9. Close the report.
  10. Select "Episode 2" in the 'Episode Header' field.
  11. Validate the 'Console Widget Viewer' still displays the selected 'Treatment Plan' but the filters are cleared in the 'All Documents' widget.
  12. Continue selecting various filters and validate the expected result displays.
  13. Select "Client B".
  14. Validate the filters clear in the 'All Documents' widget and no records display in the 'Console Widget Viewer'.
  15. Access the 'Registry Settings' form.
  16. Enter "Default Value for Console View Episodes" in the 'Limit Registry Settings to the Following Search Criteria' field.
  17. Select "Yes" in the 'Include Hidden Registry Settings' field.
  18. Click [View Registry Settings].
  19. Select the registry setting and click [OK].
  20. Enter "2" in the 'Registry Setting Value' field.
  21. Click [Submit], [OK], and [No].
  22. Select "Client A" and navigate to the 'All Documents' view.
  23. Validate the 'Episode Header' field contains "Episode 2".
  24. Click [Close All].
  25. Select 'Continuity of Care Document' from the side menu.
  26. Validate only Continuity of Care Documents display in the 'All Documents' widget.
  27. Select a record and validate it is displayed in the 'Console Widget Viewer'.
  28. Select "Episode 1" in the 'Episode Header' field.
  29. Validate the 'Console Widget Viewer' still displays the record but the filters are cleared in the 'All Documents' widget.
  30. Continue selecting various filters and validate the expected result displays.
  31. Select "Client B".
  32. Validate the filters clear in the 'All Documents' widget and no records display in the 'Console Widget Viewer'.

Specific Setup:
  • Avatar OE 2022 Update 79 and Avatar NX Release 2022.11.00 are required for full functionality.
  • The 'Avatar Order Entry->Facility Defaults->Client Profile->->->Create Additional One-Time-Only Order(s) for 'Give Now' Orders' registry setting must be set to the dictionary code for a One-Time-Only frequency.
  • Please log out of the application and log back in after completing the above configuration.
  • “Client A” must have a ‘Date of Birth’, ‘Sex’ and address on file in the ‘Update Client Data’ form, as well as information filed in the ‘Allergies and Hypersensitivities’ form, ‘Diagnosis’ form, and in the ‘Height’ and ‘Weight’ fields in the ‘Vitals Entry’ form.
Steps
  1. Select "Client A" and access the Order Entry Console.
  2. Search for and select any pharmacy-type order code.
  3. Populate the required fields selecting, a routine frequency code.
  4. Click the 'Give Initial Dose Now' [Yes] button.
  5. Adjust the 'Second Dose' time and select "Ok to Administer" and click [Save].
  6. Populate any remaining required fields and click [Add to Scratchpad].
  7. Validate there are 3 orders in the 'Scratchpad': 2 One-Time-Only orders, and one for the routine frequency selected.
  8. Click [Sign] and validate the 3 orders are displayed in the 'Order grid'.

Specific Setup:
  • The following registry setting has a value of Y: Avatar PM->Billing->Accounts Receivable Management->->->Enable Accounts Receivable Management Functionality.
  • User Defaults has been used to give the tester access to: Avatar PM / Billing / AR Management / AR Console Configuration. Note the values.
  • User Defaults has been used to give the tester access to: Avatar PM / Billing / AR Management / AR Console User Defaults Setup. Note the value for the signed in tester and at least one other user.
  • The 'Accounts Receivable Console' widget is on the tester's homeview.
  • The 'AR Console Configuration' form has been submitted.
  • The 'AR Console User Defaults Setup' form has been submitted.
  • Unpaid claimed services exist.
  • The 'System Task Scheduler', 'AR Auto Batch Update' has been processed.
  • A client must have an existing episode (Client A).
Steps
  1. Access the Avatar NX - AR Console widget.
  2. Validate that the 'User Defaults' defaults to the signed in user.
  3. Validate that the values selected in the 'AR Console User Defaults Setup' form are defaulted in the widget.
  4. Click [Search].
  5. Validate the 'Claims with Outstanding Receivables' field lines up as expected.
  6. Note the 'TOTAL BALANCE / TOTAL CLAIMS' amounts.
  7. Click [Reset Default]. Note: It will be necessary to click [Reset Default] after each search.
  8. Enter the desired date in the 'Next Follow-Up Date From' field.
  9. Click [Search].
  10. Validate that the 'TOTAL BALANCE / TOTAL CLAIMS' amounts are different than the original results.
  11. Clear the 'Next Follow-Up Date From' field.
  12. Click [Search].
  13. Note the 'TOTAL BALANCE / TOTAL CLAIMS' amounts is back to what it was.
  14. Click [Reset Default].
  15. Validate no claims are displayed.
  16. Click the 'Advanced Filters' link.
  17. Select desired search options to narrow the search results.
  18. Click [Apply].
  19. Validate that the 'TOTAL BALANCE / TOTAL CLAIMS' amounts are different than the original results.
  20. Click [Clear Advanced Filters].
  21. Validate that the 'TOTAL BALANCE / TOTAL CLAIMS' amounts are the same as the original results.
  22. Click [Reset Default].
  23. Select 'No' in 'Claim Follow-Up Records Exist'.
  24. Click [Search].
  25. Select "Client A" in the 'Claims with Outstanding Receivables' grid. Note the client and claim numbers.
  26. Validate that services display in the 'Claim Service Information' grid.
  27. Right click on a service in the 'Claim Service Information' grid and select the 'Add/Edit Authorizations' option.
  28. Validate that the authorization form selected in the 'AR Console Configuration' form opens.
  29. If desired, add an authorization record.
  30. Close the authorization form.
  31. Validate that you are returned to the AR Console widget.

Specific Setup:
  • Multiple sites must be defined and have appointments on file for any staff member.

Steps
  1. Access the 'Scheduling Calendar'.
  2. Validate "Practitioner A" is truncated in the 'Staff Members' field.
  3. Hover over "Practitioner A" and validate the entire name displays.
  4. Validate the previous and next month arrows display.
  5. Click [Find Existing Appointments].
  6. Select "All" in the 'Search Sites(s)' field.
  7. Enter any date in the 'Search Start Date' field.
  8. Click [Find New Appointment].
  9. Validate the sites in the 'Search Sites' field are displayed above the list of appointments with a vertical scroll bar.
  10. Select any appointment on the list.
  11. Click [OK].
  12. Verify the selected appointment displays on the calendar date grid.
  13. Click [Dismiss].

  4. Enter a date in the 'Request Information End Date' field.
  5. In the 'Requested Episode(s)' field, validate all episodes are listed and displayed in a readable format.
  6. Select the desired episodes to include.
  7. Select the desired items in the 'Requested Chart Items' field.
  8. Select the desired documents in the 'Requested Document Images' field.
  9. Enter an organization name in the 'Organization' field.
  10. Go to the 'Authorization' section.
  11. Select "Yes" in the 'Signed Authorization On File' field.
  12. Enter a date in the 'Authorization Start Date' field.
  13. Enter a date in the 'Authorization End Date' field.
  14. Validate all episodes are listed and displayed in a readable format in the 'Authorization Episode(s)' field.
  15. Select desired episodes to include in the 'Authorization Episode(s)' field.
  16. Click [Update Chart Items Authorized For Disclosure].
  17. Validate all items are set to "Yes" in the 'Authorized' field.
  18. Click [Save].
  19. Click [Refresh Chart Items].

  • “Client A” must have a ‘Date of Birth’, ‘Sex’ and address on file in the ‘Update Client Data’ form, as well as information filed in the ‘Allergies and Hypersensitivities’ form, ‘Diagnosis’ form, and in the ‘Height’ and ‘Weight’ fields in the ‘Vitals Entry’ form.
Steps
  1. Access the 'Task Frequency' form.
  2. Select "Add" from the 'Add/Edit Frequency' field.
  3. Set the 'New Task Frequency Code' field to "PRN".
  4. Set the 'Task Frequency Description' field to "As Needed".
  5. Select "Frequency Code A" from the 'Related Order Entry Frequency Code' field and click [Submit].
  6. Validate a message is displayed that states: "Task Frequency has completed. Do you wish to return to form?" and click [No].
  7. Please log out and then log back in.
  8. Access the 'Task Definitions' form.
  9. Select "Add" from the 'Add/Edit Task Definition' field.
  10. Set the 'New Task Code' field to "PulseOx".
  11. Set the 'Task Title' field to "Pulse Oximetry".
  12. Click [Yes] from the 'Override Originating Task Details' field.
  13. Select "As Needed (PRN)" from the 'Default Frequency' field.
  14. Select "Flowsheet" from the Task Action Type' field and click [Submit].
  15. Validate a message is displayed that states: "Task Definitions has completed. Do you wish to return to form?" and click [No].
  16. Access the 'Task Associations' form.
  17. Select "Task Definition" from the 'Task Type' field.
  18. Search for and select "Pulse Oximetry (PulseOx)" from the 'Task Group/Definition' field.
  19. Select "Add" from the 'Add/Edit/Delete Association' field.
  20. Select "Order Entry" from the 'Order Event' field.
  21. Select "Order Code A" from the 'Order Code' field.
  22. Click [Update Associations] and [Submit].
  23. Validate a message is displayed that states: "Task Associations has completed. Do you wish to return to form?" and click [No].
  24. Select "Client A" and access the Order Entry Console.
  25. Search for and select "Order Code A" from the 'New Order' field.
  26. Fill out all remaining required fields.
  27. Click [Add to Scratchpad] and then [Sign].
  28. Validate the 'Order grid' contains an order for "Order Code A".
  29. Access the 'Task List' widget.
  30. Search for and select "Client A" from the 'Search Patients' field.
  31. Hover over the '(#) PRN Tasks' field to see all current PRN tasks and validate there is now a task for "Pulse Oximetry" shown.
  32. Click [(#) PRN Tasks] to lock the view in place and then click [Complete] for the "Pulse Oximetry" task.
  33. Validate that a "Vital Signs" flowsheet assessment is launched.
  34. Fill out all required fields, click [Sign] and validate that the flowsheet window closes.
