Discharge Med Reconciliation - Carry forward 'Stop Date'
The 'Stop Date' will carry forward from an inpatient episode for orders that meet the following criteria in the Order Entry Console (Discharge Med Reconciliation section):
a) Any order placed with a duration of doses
b) Any order placed with a duration in days different than the Default Duration defined in Order Code Setup
Value Added: Enhances the Order Entry Console (Discharge Med Reconciliation section) to carry forward the 'Stop Date' when applicable.

OE NX - Order Entry Console - Tube Feed orders
The Order Entry Console (Orders This Episode and Admission Med Reconciliation sections) is enhanced to provide better support for Tube Feeding orders. This includes the addition of the new extended attribute 'Is This a Medical Food Order Type' off of the 'Order Type' dictionary, and the fields 'Infuse Over Time', 'Infuse Over Time Unit' and 'Infuse Amount (mL)' in the 'Order Code Setup' form and file import. These fields can default into corresponding fields in the Order Entry Console. Please note that myAvatar NX 2021.09.00 must also be installed for full functionality, and that this functionality in the Order Entry Console is available only in myAvatar NX.
Value Added: The Order Entry Console is enhanced to allow filing Tube Feed orders on the Orders This Episode and Admission Med Reconciliation tabs

'Stop date' and 'Stop time' required if one is filled in.
An issue is resolved to ensure if a value is filled in for 'Stop date' or 'Stop time', both fields will become required and if no values are entered for 'Stop date' or 'Stop time' both fields will not become required.
Value Added: The feature allows for open ended orders to be put in without a 'Stop date' or 'Stop time'.

OE NX - Do Not Default to PO
In the Order Entry Console (Home Medications and Discharge Med Reconciliation sections), a separate 'Route' ('Route of Administration') field is added. In general, this new 'Route' field will default to the 'Route of Administration' based on the selected medication product. However, the new registry setting 'Prevent defaulting to oral Routes in the OE Console (Home Meds / Disch. Med Rec)' is added, which, if enabled, will prevent any "oral" 'Route of Administration' from defaulting into this new 'Route' field. ("Oral" 'Route of Administration' codes are those that have the new extended attribute 'Treat like Oral when tube feeding' set to "Yes". The "PO" ("Oral") 'Route of Administration' code is automatically defined to have this extended attribute set to "Yes" upon installation of this Update, and each facility can define additional 'Route of Administration' codes to be treated as "oral" for this purpose, as well.)

Note: A myAvatar Client Update or upgrade must also be installed to fully enable this functionality. Also note that this functionality in the Order Entry Console is available only in myAvatar NX.
Value Added: The Order Entry Console (Home Medications and Discharge Med Reconciliation sections) are enhanced to not always default a 'Route' of "Oral".

NPO orders placed are able to automatically discontinue other order types when specified in Order Code Setup.
In the Order Entry Console (Orders This Episode section), support is added to have orders of one or more 'Order Types' be discontinued automatically when a new order is placed. The new fields 'Automatic Discontinuation of Order Types' and 'Discontinue Reason for Automatic Discontinuation' are added to the 'Order Code Setup' form to support this functionality. The initial use case cited for this enhancement is to automatically DC all oral diet orders when an "NPO" order is placed. Please note that this functionality in the Order Entry Console is available only in Avatar NX, and that a myAvatar Client Update or upgrade is also needed.
Value Added: The ability to automatically discontinue orders based on configuration in the 'Order Code Setup' form.

Avatar NX - Order Entry Console - Intravenous orders
The Order Entry Console (Orders This Episode section) is enhanced to support additional functionality relating to Patient-Controlled Analgesia (PCA) and Titrations when an order has a 'Route' of "Intravenous". Please note that not all parts of this functionality are available in "external pharmacy mode", that myAvatar NX is required for full functionality, and that a myAvatar Client Update or upgrade is also needed. The 'Use 4-hour 'Max Dose' for PCAs in Order Entry Console (Orders This Episode)' registry setting is added to the system, allowing the system to utilize either the 'Max Dose per Hour' or 'Max Dose per 4 Hours' field with the newly introduced PCA functionality. The 'Recipe Maintenance' form is added and allows recipes to be created. Recipes will display in the Order Code Search within the Order Entry Console when "external pharmacy mode" is not being used. In the Order Entry Console (Orders This Episode section), support is added for intravenous PCA orders when in "external pharmacy mode". Please note that a myAvatar Client Update or upgrade is also needed to enable this functionality, and that this functionality is available only in myAvatar NX.
Value Added: Avatar Order Entry has been enhanced to support additional Intravenous data for orders
