Data Element Help Messages
Note - These testing guidelines assume the user is skilled in the use of, at a minimum, the following:
  • Data Element Help Message Definition (CWS)
  • Individual Progress Note
Scenario 1: Data Element Help Message Definition - Create and validate a new help message.
Specific Setup:
  • User must have access to the form 'Data Element Help Message Definition' in 'User Definition'.
  • Client must be enrolled in an active episode (Client A).
Steps
  1. Access the 'Data Element Help Message Definition' form.
  2. Select any value from the 'File' field (ex. "CWS").
  3. Select any value from the 'Data Element' field (ex. "Draft/Final - 50010").
  4. Set the 'Data Element Help Message' field to any value (ex. "All required fields must be completed before selecting 'Final'").
  5. Click [File Data Element Help Message].
  6. Validate that a "Confirm" dialog message is displayed stating "Help message filed."
  7. Click [OK].
  8. Select "Client A" from the 'My Clients' list and access any form that contains the 'Draft/Final' field (ex. 'Progress Notes (Group and Individual)').
  9. Select any value from the 'Select Episode' field.
  10. Select any value from the 'Progress Note For' field.
  11. Select any note type from the 'Note Type' field.
  12. Complete the remaining required fields.
  13. Select any value from the 'Draft/Final' field.
  14. Click the [Help Message] icon.
  15. Validate the 'Help Message' a text contains the value configured in the Data Element Help Message Definition' form ( "All required fields must be completed before selecting 'Final'").
  16. Click [Return To Form].
  17. Click [Submit Note].

Required fields - Validation Flags
Note - These testing guidelines assume the user is skilled in the use of, at a minimum, the following:
  • Suicide/Risk Assessment
Scenario 1: Required Field Validation - Draft /Final
Specific Setup:
  • A form must exist with field requirements upon submitting in 'Draft' or 'Final' status.
  • A client must be enrolled in an active episode (Client A).
Steps
  1. Select "Client A" from the 'My Clients' list and access any assessment form (ex. Suicide/Risk Assessment).
  2. Select any episode from the 'Episode PreDisplay'.
  3. Click [Add].
  4. Select 'Draft' from the 'Draft/Final' field.
  5. Click [Submit].
  6. Validate that a filing message dialog is displayed stating "The following fields are missing: 'Date'".
  7. Click [Ok].
  8. Validate that a red validation flag appears next to the missing required field.
  9. Select any date from the 'Date' field.
  10. Click [Submit].
  11. Select "Client A" from the 'My Clients' list and access any assessment form (ex. Suicide/Risk Assessment).
  12. Select any episode from the 'Episode PreDisplay'.
  13. Select the previously filed 'Draft' assessment and click [Edit].
  14. Complete the form without entering data in 2 of the required fields.
  15. Select 'Final' from the 'Draft/Final' field.
  16. Validate that the 'Draft/Final' dialog contains the (2) required field names that are missing data.
  17. Click [Ok].
  18. Validate that dialog is displayed stating "'Final' cannot be selected until all of the required prompts within the form contain information".
  19. Click [Ok].
  20. Validate that red validation flags appears next to the missing required field(s).
  21. Set any value in the missing required fields.
  22. Select "Final" from the 'Draft/Final' field.
  23. Validate that a dialog is displayed stating "Selecting 'Final' prevents future edits".
  24. Click [Ok].
  25. Click [Submit].

Progress Notes (Group and Individual) - Group Default Note
Scenario 1: Scheduling Calendar: Open and file the 'Progress Notes (Group and Individual)' from the 'Scheduling Calendar'
Specific Setup:
  • Client A must be enrolled in an existing outpatient episode and have an appointment scheduled.
  • User must have Progress Notes Group and Individual Form assigned to them under 'Select Forms' in the 'Appointment Scheduling' section of 'User Definition'.
Steps
  1. Access 'Scheduling Calendar' form.
  2. Right click on the appointment for "Client A".
  3. Select any 'Progress Notes (Group and Individual)' form.
  4. Validate that the 'Progress Notes (Group and Individual)' form opens and you are on the 'Individual Progress Notes' tab.
  5. Select the 'Begin Group Note' tab.
  6. Validate that a message is displayed stating "Section is disabled. Please use the menu to enter group default notes."
  7. Click [OK].
  8. Validate that "Client A" displays in the 'Client ID' field.
  9. Validate that the episode from that the appointment was scheduled for displays in the 'Select Episode' field.
  10. Validate the 'Progress Note Fo'r field contains "Existing Appointment".
  11. Select any value from the 'Note Type' field.
  12. Enter any text in the 'Notes Field'.
  13. Select any value from the 'Draft/Final' field.
  14. Click [Submit Note].
  15. Validate that a Progress Notes message is displayed stating "Note Filed"
  16. Click [OK].

Avatar NX - Search Fields

Scenario 1: Search Explorer - What Can I Help You Find: Search for Client / Advanced Client Search / Form Menu Tree structure
Specific Setup:
  • Client must be admitted to an Active Episode (Client A).
Steps
  1. Select the 'Advanced Client Search' under the 'Explore Search' field.
  2. Select any value from the 'Last Name' field.
  3. Select any value from the 'First Name' field.
  4. Select any value from the 'Sex' field.
  5. Click [Search].
  6. Select "Client A" from the results field.
  7. Click [Close Client].
  8. Access the 'Progress Notes (Group and Individual)' form from the 'My Forms' list.
  9. Select "Client A" from the 'Client ID' field.
  10. Select any episode from the 'Select Episode' field.
  11. Select any value from the 'Progress Note For' field.
  12. Select any value from the 'Note Type' field.
  13. Enter any text in the 'Notes Field'.
  14. Complete the required fields.
  15. Select any value from the 'Draft/Final' field.
  16. Click [Submit Note].
  17. Access the Diagnosis form and search for "Client A".
  18. Select any Episode from the 'Select Episode' pre-display.
  19. Click [Add].
  20. Select any value from the 'Type of Diagnosis' field.
  21. Select any date from the 'Date of Diagnosis' field.
  22. Select any time from the 'Time of Diagnosis' field.
  23. Click [New Row].
  24. Search and select any diagnosis from the 'Diagnosis Search' field.
  25. Search and select any value from the 'Diagnosing Practitioner' field.
  26. Select any value in the 'Add To Problem List' field.
  27. Click [Submit].

Report Viewer - Additional ODBC Connections
Note - These testing guidelines assume the user is skilled in the use of, at a minimum, the following:
  • Treatment/Discharge Summary
  • Crystal Report Viewer

Scenario 1: Avatar NX: Crystal Reports with multiple ODBC connections for cache databases
Specific Setup:
  • A crystal report with multiple ODBC connections (ex. PM, CWS) must exist in the system (ex. 'Treatment/Discharge Summary' form contains, 'Treatment Discharge Summary' report and the 'Referral Letter' report).
  • A report definition report must exist in the system with multiple ODBC Connections (ex. CWS, PM)
  • A client must have data filed in the 'Treatment/Discharge Summary' form in the 'Treatment/Discharge Summary' and 'Referral' sections (Client A).
Steps
  1. Select "Client A" from the 'My Clients' widget and access any form that has a report with multiple ODBC connections (PM, CWS) - (ex. 'Treatment/Discharge Summary').
  2. Select any episode from the 'Select Episode' field.
  3. Select any record from the 'Select Record' field.
  4. Click [Edit].
  5. Validate that a 'Treatment/Discharge Summary' displays stating "This summary is marked as Final. Changes are not allowed. Do you want to continue?".
  6. Click [Yes].
  7. Select the 'Referral' tab.
  8. Validate that a 'Treatment/Discharge Summary' displays stating "This summary is marked as Final. Changes are not allowed".
  9. Click [OK].
  10. Click [Print Referral Letter].
  11. Validate the Crystal Report displays the data for Client A as expected.
  12. Click [Close Report].
  13. Select the 'Treatment/Discharge Summary' tab.
  14. Click [Submit].
  15. Validate that a 'Treatment/Discharge Summary' message is displayed stating "The selected summary was previously marked as Final. Changes are not allowed. Would you like to view the Treatment/Discharge Summary report?".
  16. Click [Yes]
  17. Validate the Crystal Report displays the data for Client A as expected.
  18. Click [Close Report].

Widget Definition / Widget Wizard widgets - Staff Member
Note - These testing guidelines assume the user is skilled in the use of, at a minimum, the following:
  • NX - User Preferences
Scenario 1: Widget Definition / Widget Wizard - Staff ID based widgets
Specific Setup:
  • A 'Widget Definition' or 'Widget Wizard' widget for 'Staff ID' must exist with the ability to be undocked and be assigned to a view.
  • A user must have access to the view that contains the Staff widget (User A).
Steps
  1. Click [User Menu].
  2. Select "Preferences" from the 'User Menu' field.
  3. Select 'Enable Staff tab' from the 'Preferences' screen.
  4. Click [Save].
  5. Click [Logout].
  6. Login and enter the username and password for "User A".
  7. Select any view that has the Staff widget assigned for User A.
  8. Click [Clients].
  9. Select the 'Staff' tab.
  10. Select any staff member from the 'staff list'.
  11. Validate the 'Staff' widget contains the staff information for the selected staff member.
  12. Select any staff member from the 'staff list'.
  13. Validate that the 'Staff' widget contains the staff information for the newly selected staff member.
  14. Click [Undock].
  15. Validate that the widget successfully launches in a new browser window.
  16. Select any staff member from the 'staff list'.
  17. Validate the 'Staff' widget contains the staff information for the selected staff member.
  18. Select any staff member from the 'staff list'.
  19. Validate that the 'Staff' widget contains the staff information for the newly selected staff member.
  20. Close the undocked widget's browser window and validate that the docked 'Staff' widget displays the staff information for the selected staff member.

View Definition - Allow User To Customize View (Avatar NX)
Note - These testing guidelines assume the user is skilled in the use of, at a minimum, the following:

Scenario 1: 'View Definition' - Allow User To Customize View (Avatar NX)
Specific Setup:
  • User must have access to the 'View Definition' form.
Steps
  1. Access the 'View Definition' form.
  2. Click [Select View].
  3. Select any view from the 'Select Views' field.
  4. Click [OK].
  5. Select "No" from the 'Allow User To Customize View' field.
  6. Click [Submit].
  7. Validate that a form return dialog displays stating "View Definition has completed. Do you wish to return to form?".
  8. Click [No].
  9. Navigate to the view previously filed view.
  10. Validate that the 'Customize' button is disabled and a message is displayed stating "View is not configured to allow customization"
  11. Access the 'View Definition' form.
  12. Click [Select View].
  13. Select any view from the 'Select Views' field (ex. previously filed view).
  14. Click [OK].
  15. Select "Yes" from the 'Allow User To Customize View' field.
  16. Click [Submit].
  17. Validate that a form return dialog displays stating "View Definition has completed. Do you wish to return to form?".
  18. Click [No].
  19. Navigate to the view previously filed view.
  20. Validate that the 'Customize' button is enabled.
  21. Click [Customize].
  22. Validate that the widgets can be moved and resized as expected.
  23. Click [Customize].
  24. Validate that the view's layout appears as expected after customization.

'My Calendar' and 'Coming In Today' Undocked Widget - Right Click Form Launch
Note - These testing guidelines assume the user is skilled in the use of, at a minimum, the following:

Scenario 1: 'My Calendar' and 'Coming In Today' undocked widgets - right click form launch functionality
Specific Setup:
  • 'My Calendar' and 'Coming in Today' widgets are on the HomeView.
  • A client must be defined (Client A).
  • "Client A" must have an appointment scheduled for the current date.
  • A user that is associated to a staff member must be configured with an appointment scheduled with "Client A" for the current date (User A).
  • "User A" must be configured with 'Select Forms' from the 'Appointment Scheduling' tab of 'User Definition'.
Steps
  1. Navigate to the 'My Calendar' widget.
  2. Click [Undock].
  3. Validate that the appointment for "Client A" is displayed.
  4. Right click on the appointment.
  5. Click [Select Client].
  6. Validate that "Client A" is in context.
  7. Click [Launch Chart].
  8. Validate that the 'Client Dashboard' opens for "Client A".
  9. Click [Close].
  10. Click any form that is configured for this user in 'Select Forms' from the 'Appointment Scheduling' tab of 'User Definition' (ex. 'Progress Notes (Group and Individual)').
  11. Validate that form opens with the information from "Client A's" appointment (ex. Client ID, Episode Number, Service Code).
  12. Click [Discard].
  13. Navigate to the 'Coming In Today' widget.
  14. Click [Undock].
  15. Select the 'Staff Calendars' tab.
  16. Select 'Individual' from the 'Individual/Site' field.
  17. Search and select "User A".
  18. Validate that the appointment for "Client A" is displayed.
  19. Right click on the appointment.
  20. Click [Select Client].
  21. Validate that "Client A" is in context.

Avatar NX - Adding Time Controls to Forms: H- Hour, M - Minute, and AM/PM
Scenario 1: Facility Configuration: Time Control On Setting (Default)
Specific Setup:
  • Client must be admitted to an active episode (Client A).
Steps
  1. Select "Client A" from the 'My Clients' list and access any from that has time fields (ex. 'Progress Notes (Group and Individual)').
  2. Select any episode from the 'Select Episode' field.
  3. Select any value from the 'Progress Note For' field.
  4. Select any value from the 'Note Type' field.
  5. Set the 'Notes Field' to any value.
  6. Select any date from the 'Date Of Service' field (ex.Today's date).
  7. Select any value from the 'Service Program' field.
  8. Select any value from the 'Service Charge Code' field.
  9. Select any value from the 'Session Start Time' field (ex."10:00")
  10. Click [Session Start Time H Up].
  11. Validate that the 'Session Start Time' field contains "11:00 AM".
  12. Click [Session Start Time H Down].
  13. Validate the 'Session Start Time' field contains "10:00 AM".
  14. Click [Session Start Time M Up].
  15. Validate the 'Session Start Time' field contains "10:01 AM".
  16. Click [Session Start Time AM/PM Up].
  17. Validate the 'Session Start Time' field contains "10:01 PM".
  18. Click [Session Start Time AM/PM Down].

Scenario 2: Facility Configuration: Time Control "Off" Setting
Specific Setup:
  • A Netsmart configuration required for removal of the time control icons within forms. Please contact a Netsmart representative for this configuration.
  • Client must be admitted to an active episode (Client A).
Steps
  1. Select "Client A" from the 'My Clients' list and access any from that has time fields (ex. 'Progress Notes (Group and Individual)').
  2. Select any episode from the 'Select Episode' field.
  3. Select any value from the 'Progress Note For' field.
  4. Select any value from the 'Note Type' field.
  5. Set the 'Notes Field' to any value.
  6. Select any date from the 'Date Of Service' field (ex.Today's date).
  7. Select any value from the 'Service Program' field.
  8. Select any value from the 'Service Charge Code' field.
  9. Select any value from the 'Session Start Time' field (ex."10:00")

Order Entry Console - Ordering Practitioner

Scenario 1: OE NX - Update Ordering Practitioner
Specific Setup:
  • A client must have an active episode. (Client A)
  • Client A must have a ‘Date of Birth’, ‘Sex’ and address on file in the ‘Update Client Data’ form, as well as information filed in the ‘Allergies and Hypersensitivities’ form, ‘Diagnosis’ form and in the ‘Height’ and ‘Weight’ fields in the ‘Vitals Entry’ form.
  • Client A must not have any existing orders
Steps
  1. Access the Order Entry Console for any client.
  2. Set the 'New Order field to "ADVIL CHILDREN'S (IBUPROFEN) 100 MG/5 ML SUSPENSION ORAL".
  3. Set the 'Dose' field to "2".
  4. Select "TABLET" from the 'Dose Unit' field.
  5. Select "TWICE A DAY" from the 'Freq' field.
  6. Set the Duration field to "12" and click [Days].
  7. Click [Add to Scratchpad].
  8. Remove the value in the 'Ordering Practitioner' field.
  9. Press the Tab key on the 'Ordering Practitioner' field.
  10. Set the 'Ordering Practitioner' field to any valid practitioner.
  11. Press the 'Enter' key to select the practitioner.
  12. Press the 'Tab' key on the 'Ordering Practitioner' field.
  13. Validate the 'Ordering Practitioner' field is equal to the practitioner selected.
  14. Click [Sign].
  15. Validate the 'Order grid' contains the order created.

Scrolling Text Templates - Text Editor Fields
Note - These testing guidelines assume the user is skilled in the use of, at a minimum, the following:

Scenario 1: Product Scrolling Free Text Templates: Create a Scrolling Free Text Template and insert a Scrolling Text Template into a form (Scrolling Text and Text Editor fields)
Specific Setup:
  • User must have access to the form 'Product Scrolling Free Text Templates' in User Definition.
  • Client must be enrolled in an active episode (Client A).
  • Client A must have a 'Treatment Plan' filed in 'Draft' status.
Steps
  1. Access the 'Product Scrolling Free Text Templates' form.
  2. Select any form from the 'Form' field (ex. 'Progress Notes (Group and Individual)').
  3. Click [OK].
  4. Select the 'Template Definition' section.
  5. Click [Add New Item].
  6. Select any field from the 'Scrolling Text Table Column' (ex. "Notes Field (10750)").
  7. Select any value from the 'Template Description' field (ex. "Test Template").
  8. Set the 'Template Contents' field to any value (ex. "This is a sample text template").
  9. Select any value from the 'All Users or Specific Users/User Roles' field.
  10. Click [Submit].
  11. Select "Client A" from the 'My Clients' list and access the form you created the scrolling text template for (ex. 'Progress Notes (Group and Individual)').
  12. Select any episode from the 'Select Episode' field.
  13. Select any value from the 'Progress Note For' field.
  14. Select any note type from the 'Note Type' field.
  15. Click [Text Editor].
  16. Click the template created (ex. Test Template).
  17. Click [Save].
  18. Validate that the 'Notes Field' contains the data from the template.
  19. Complete the required fields.
  20. Select any value from the 'Draft/Final' field.
  21. Click [Submit Note].
  22. Select "Client A" from the 'My Clients' list and access the 'Treatment Plan' form
  23. Select any episode from the 'Episode Selection' field
  24. Select any 'Draft' 'Treatment Plan'
  25. Click [Edit].
  26. Click [Launch Plan].
  27. Select any problem from the 'Tree View'.
  28. Click [Template Icon] from the 'Problem' free text field.
  29. Click the template created (ex. Test Template).
  30. Validate that the Problem Text field contains the data from the template.
  31. Click [Return to Plan].
  32. Click [OK].
  33. Click [Submit].

Specific Setup:
  • User must have access to the form 'Product Scrolling Free Text Templates' in User Definition.
  • Client must be enrolled in an active episode (Client A).
  • Client A must have a 'Treatment Plan' filed in 'Draft' status.
Steps
  1. Access the 'Product Scrolling Free Text Templates' form.
  2. Select any form from the 'Form' field (ex. 'Progress Notes (Group and Individual)').
  3. Click [OK].
  4. Select the 'Template Definition' section.
  5. Click [Add New Item].
  6. Select any field from the 'Scrolling Text Table Column' (ex. "Notes Field (10750)").
  7. Select any value from the 'Template Description' field (ex. "Test Template").
  8. Set the 'Template Contents' field to any value (ex. "This is a sample text template").
  9. Select any value from the 'All Users or Specific Users/User Roles' field.
  10. Click [Submit].
  11. Select "Client A" from the 'My Clients' list and access the form you created the scrolling text template for (ex. 'Progress Notes (Group and Individual)').
  12. Select any episode from the 'Select Episode' field.
  13. Select any value from the 'Progress Note For' field.
  14. Select any note type from the 'Note Type' field.
  15. Click [Text Editor].
  16. Click the template created (ex. Test Template).
  17. Click [Save].
  18. Validate that the 'Notes Field' contains the data from the template.
  19. Complete the required fields.
  20. Select any value from the 'Draft/Final' field.
  21. Click [Submit Note].
  22. Select "Client A" from the 'My Clients' list and access the 'Treatment Plan' form
  23. Select any episode from the 'Episode Selection' field
  24. Select any 'Draft' 'Treatment Plan'
  25. Click [Edit].
  26. Click [Launch Plan].
  27. Select any problem from the 'Tree View'.
  28. Click [Template Icon] from the 'Problem' free text field.
  29. Click the template created (ex. Test Template).
  30. Validate that the Problem Text field contains the data from the template.

Scenario 1: 'Practitioner Numbers by Guarantor and Program' - Edit Practitioner Numbers
Specific Setup:
  • The registry setting "Enable New Practitioner Numbers By Guarantor and Program Form" is configured to "Y".
Steps
  1. Access the form 'Practitioner Numbers By Guarantor and Program'
  2. Select the 'Edit Practitioner Numbers' tab.
  3. Select any value in the 'Practitioner' field.
  4. Select any value in the required 'Guarantor ID' field.
  5. Select any value in the required 'Program' field.
  6. Select any value in the 'Record Selection' field.
  7. Click [Launch Workscreen].
  8. Select any row in the 'Practitioner Numbers By Guarantor and Program' table.
  9. Click [View].
  10. Select any field from the table and enter data (ex. NPI Number, Taxonomy Code).
  11. Click [Save].

Scenario 1: To Do Widget: Documents To Sign - Review All - Accept / Reject Document - Change User's
Specific Setup:
  • Client must be enrolled in an active episode with Progress Note documents pending signature (Client A)
  • Practitioner must exist with Document to approve ToDo's on their 'To Do' widget. (Practitioner A).
Steps
  1. Select any client from the 'My Clients' list and access any 'Progress Note' form (ex. 'Progress Notes (Group and Individual')).
  2. Select any value from the ' Select Episode' field.
  3. Select any value from the 'Progress Note For' field.
  4. Select any value from the 'Note Type' field.
  5. Enter any value in the 'Notes Field'.
  6. Select 'Final' from the 'Draft/Final' field.
  7. Click [Submit Note].
  8. Click [Sign and Route].
  9. Enter the logged in users password in the 'Verify Password' field.
  10. Click [Verify].
  11. Select any staff member in the 'Supervisor' field (ex. Staff member associated to logged in user).
  12. Click [Add].
  13. Validate that a 'Note Filed' dialog is displayed.

Specific Setup:

Steps
  1. Select any client and access any 'Progress Notes (Group and Individual)' form that has 'Document Routing' enabled.
  2. Select any episode from the 'Episode Selection' field.
  3. Select any value from the 'Progress Note For' field.
  4. Select any note type from the 'Note Type' field.
  5. Set the 'Notes Field' field to any value to include special text characters (ex. ÀÁÂÃÄÅÆÇÈÉÊËÌÍÎÏÐÑÒÓÔÕÖרÙÚÛÜÝ).
  6. Complete the remaining required fields.
  7. Select "Final" from the 'Draft/Final' field.
  8. Click [Submit Note].
  9. Click the [Sign and Route/Notify] and enter the logged in user's password in the 'Password' field.
  10. Click [Verify].
  11. Select any supervisor from the 'Supervisor' field and click [Add].
  12. Select a different supervisor from the 'Supervisor' field and click [Add].
  13. Validate that a 'Confirm' dialog is displayed stating "Any Supervisor" is the current supervisor in the list. Would you like to replace "Any Supervisor" with "Another Supervisor"?

Scenario 1: All Documents Widget Functionality: Sort/Filter/Display and Validation
Specific Setup:
  • Registry Setting: 'RADplus->General->->->->Enable Documentation Views' must be set to 'Y'.
  • A Documentation View must exist and assigned to a users view (ex. All Docs Test).
  • A client must have data filed in various forms (ex. Problem List', 'Diagnosis', 'Progress Notes (Group and Individual)') (Client A).
Steps
  1. Select 'Client A" from the 'My Clients' list and navigate to the 'All Documents Widget' view.
