OBSERVESMART and ORCHARD Outbound HL7 ADT message updates
Note - These testing guidelines assume the user is skilled in the use of, at a minimum, the following:
  • HL7 Connection Monitor
  • Pre Admit
  • Admission
Scenario 1: Validate 'PID' data for 'Orchard' Outbound 'ADT' HL7 messages do not contain double quotes for missing field values
Specific Setup:
  • 'ADT- Orchard', 'ADT-RxConnect' and 'ADT-ObservSMART' outbound connections are configured.
Steps
  1. Access the 'Pre Admit Data' form and "enter desired data for Client A".
  2. Submit the form.
  3. Access the 'HL7 Connection Monitor' form.
  4. Select the "(Outbound) ADT - RXCONNECT" value in the 'Select Row' field and click [Show Transaction Log].
  5. Validate the 'HL7 Outbound Transaction Log' report is displayed.
  6. Find the message that is closest to the time in which the order was created.
  7. Validate the 'Event Type' is "ADT^A05" and that 'PID' does not contain double quotes for any empty fields.
  8. Click [View HL7 Message].
  9. Validate there are no double quotes in all PID segment fields.
  10. Close the report and the form.
  11. Access the 'HL7 Connection Monitor' form.
  12. Select the "(Outbound) ADT - OBSERVSMART" value in the 'Select Row' field and click [Show Transaction Log].
  13. Validate the 'HL7 Outbound Transaction Log' report is displayed.
  14. Find the message that is closest to the time in which the order was created.
  15. Validate the 'Event Type' is "ADT^A05" and that 'PID' does not contain double quotes for any empty fields.
  16. Click [View HL7 Message].
  17. Validate there are no double quotes in all PID segment fields.
  18. Close the report and the form.
  19. Access the 'HL7 Connection Monitor' form.
  20. Select the "(Outbound) ADT - ORCHARD" value in the 'Select Row' field and click [Show Transaction Log].
  21. Validate the 'HL7 Outbound Transaction Log' report is displayed.
  22. Find the message that is closest to the time in which the order was created.
  23. Validate the 'Event Type' is "ADT^A05" and that 'PID' does not contain double quotes for any empty fields.
  24. Click [View HL7 Message].

  27. Select "Client A" and access the 'Admission Data' form.
  28. Submit the form.
  29. Access the 'HL7 Connection Monitor' form.
  30. Select the "(Outbound) ADT - RXCONNECT" value in the 'Select Row' field and click [Show Transaction Log].
  31. Validate the 'HL7 Outbound Transaction Log' report is displayed.
  32. Find the message that is closest to the time in which the order was created.
  33. Validate the 'Event Type' is "ADT^A01" and that 'PID' does not contain double quotes for any empty fields.
  34. Click [View HL7 Message].
  35. Validate there are no double quotes in all PID segment fields.
  36. Close the report and the form.
  37. Access the 'HL7 Connection Monitor' form.
  38. Select the "(Outbound) ADT - OBSERVSMART" value in the 'Select Row' field and click [Show Transaction Log].
  39. Validate the 'HL7 Outbound Transaction Log' report is displayed.
  40. Find the message that is closest to the time in which the order was created.
  41. Validate the 'Event Type' is "ADT^A01" and that 'PID' does not contain double quotes for any empty fields.
  42. Click [View HL7 Message].
  43. Validate there are no double quotes in all PID segment fields.
  44. Close the report and the form.
  45. Access the 'HL7 Connection Monitor' form.
  46. Select the "(Outbound) ADT - ORCHARD" value in the 'Select Row' field and click [Show Transaction Log].
  47. Validate the 'HL7 Outbound Transaction Log' report is displayed.
  48. Find the message that is closest to the time in which the order was created.
  49. Validate the 'Event Type' is "ADT^A01" and that 'PID' does not contain double quotes for any empty fields.
  50. Click [View HL7 Message].
  51. Validate there are no double quotes in all PID segment fields.
