Product Update Form Description

An issue is resolved where a null value (expressed as two double quotation marks) is included in segment PID field 3.5. This could occur for connections that have enabled support for expressing null as two double quotation marks.

Double quote support in Outbound ADT message
Note - These testing guidelines assume the user is skilled in the use of, at a minimum, the following:
  • HL7 Connection Monitor
  • Update Client Data
Scenario 1: Validate double quote support in Outbound ADT message
Specific Setup:
  • 'ADT- Orchard', 'ADT-RxConnect' and 'ADT-Generic' outbound connections are configured.
  • A client must have an active inpatient episode. (Client A)
Steps
  1. Select "Client A" and access the 'Update Client Data' form.
  2. Submit the form.
  3. Access the 'HL7 Connection Monitor' form.
  4. Select the "(Outbound) ADT - ORCHARD" value in the 'Select Row' field and click [Show Transaction Log].
  5. Validate the 'HL7 Outbound Transaction Log' report is displayed.
  6. Find the message that is closest to the time in which the order was created.
  7. Validate the 'Event Type' is "ADT^A08" and that 'ID' contains "Client A's PATID".
  8. Click [View HL7 Message].
  9. Validate there are double quotes instead of null in all PID and PV1 segments except 'Id' fields.
  10. Close the report and the form.
  11. Access the 'HL7 Connection Monitor' form.
  12. Select the "(Outbound) ADT - Generic" value in the 'Select Row' field and click [Show Transaction Log].
  13. Validate the 'HL7 Outbound Transaction Log' report is displayed.
  14. Find the message that is closest to the time in which the order was created.
  15. Validate the 'Event Type' is "ADT^A08" and that 'ID' contains "Client A's PATID".
  16. Click [View HL7 Message].
  17. Validate there are double quotes instead of null in all PID and PV1 segments except 'Id' fields.
  18. Close the report and the form.
  19. Access the 'HL7 Connection Monitor' form.
  20. Select the "(Outbound) ADT - RXCONNECT" value in the 'Select Row' field and click [Show Transaction Log].
  21. Validate the 'HL7 Outbound Transaction Log' report is displayed.
  22. Find the message that is closest to the time in which the order was created.
  23. Validate the 'Event Type' is "ADT^A08" and that 'ID' contains "Client A's PATID".
  24. Click [View HL7 Message].
  25. Validate there are no double quotes in any segment.
  26. Close the report and the form.
