Note - These testing guidelines assume the user is skilled in the use of, at a minimum, the following:
- Progress Notes (Group and Individual)
- Ambulatory Progress Notes
Scenario 1: Diagnosis - Validate display of Practitioner Credentials in the Chart View
Specific Setup:
- A client is enrolled in an existing episode (Client A).
- A practitioner is defined in 'Practitioner Enrollment' with the following (Practitioner A):
- 'Category/Taxonomy' Row 1:
- 'Effective Date' of "01/01/2022".
- 'End Date' of "10/01/2023".
- Practitioner Credential of "Administrator".
- 'Category/Taxonomy' Row 2:
- 'Effective Date' of "10/02/2023"
- No 'End Date' on file.
- Practitioner Credential of "Medical Doctor".
- The 'Diagnosis' form must be accessible from the Chart View.
Steps
- Select "Client A" and access the 'Diagnosis' form.
- Select "Update" in the 'Type Of Diagnosis' field.
- Enter "05/01/2023" in the 'Date Of Diagnosis' field.
- Enter the desired value in the 'Time Of Diagnosis Field'.
- Click [New Row].
- Search for and select the desired value in the 'Diagnosis Search' field.
- Select "Active" in the 'Status' field.
- Select "Practitioner A" in the 'Diagnosing Practitioner' field.
- Populate all other required and desired fields.
- Submit the form.
- Double-click on "Client A" to access the Chart View.
- Select the 'Diagnosis' form from the left-hand side.
- Select the episode used in the previous steps.
- Validate that the previously diagnosis is displayed.
- Validate "Practitioner A" is displayed with the proper practitioner credentials based on the diagnosis date, which is "Administrator".
- Close the chart.
- Select "Client A" and access the 'Diagnosis' form.
- Click [Add].
- Select "Update" in the 'Type Of Diagnosis' field.
- Enter "11/01/2023" in the 'Date Of Diagnosis' field.
- Enter the desired value in the 'Time Of Diagnosis Field'.
- Click [New Row].
- Search for and select the desired value in the 'Diagnosis Search' field.
- Select "Active" in the 'Status' field.
- Select "Practitioner A" in the 'Diagnosing Practitioner' field.
- Populate all other required and desired fields.
- Submit the form.
- Double-click on "Client A" to access the Chart View.
- Select the 'Diagnosis' form from the left-hand side.
- Select the episode used in the previous steps.
- Validate that the previously filed diagnosis is displayed.
- Validate "Practitioner A" is displayed with the proper practitioner credentials based on the diagnosis date, which is "Medical Doctor".
- Close the chart.

- Open Avatar Cal-PM 'Cal-OMS Administrative Discharge' form.
- Select client record/Cal-OMS Admission episode for Cal-OMS Administrative Discharge record entry/edit.
- Enter/select value for 'Discharge Date'.
- Ensure 'Form Serial Number' is present in form; ensure 'Form Serial Number' field is disabled/read-only.
- Ensure 'Form Serial Number' field contains/displays Form Serial Number value from associated Cal-OMS Admission record/selected 'Associated Level of Care' record (where Registry Setting 'Enable Form Serial Number in Cal-OMS Admission' is enabled; otherwise, field will remain blank/contain no value).

- In case where Form Serial Number value for associated Cal-OMS Admission record is edited/updated (where Registry Setting 'Allow Edit of Form Serial Number in Cal-OMS Admission' is enabled) - ensure that 'Form Serial Number' value for any associated Cal-OMS Discharge record is updated to same value (may be confirmed via 'Cal-OMS Administrative Discharge' form and/or SQL table 'SYSTEM.cal_oms_discharge').

- Where Registry Setting 'Enable LA County Reporting Requirements' is disabled with value 'N' - ensure that user is not presented with error dialog noting 'You can only select Methadone if the 'Level of Care Admitted' is Opioid Treatment Program' and 'Methadone' value/selection is allowed
- Where Registry Setting 'Enable LA County Reporting Requirements' is enabled with value 'Y' - ensure that user is not presented with error dialog noting 'You can only select Methadone if the 'Level of Care Admitted' is Opioid Treatment Program' and 'Methadone' value/selection is allowed

Specific Setup:
- Registry Setting:
- Avatar PM->System Maintenance->Service Code Maintenance->->->Enable Multiple Add-On Code Per Primary Code Functionality setting is set to 'Y'.
- Admission:
- An existing client is identified or a new client is admitted. Note client id, admission program, admission date.
- Diagnosis:
- Diagnosis is created for the Client.
- Financial Eligibility:
- A guarantor identified in the 'Guarantors/Payors' form is assigned to the client as a primary guarantor.
- Client Charge Input:
- A service rendered to a client with an add-on service.
- Client Ledger:
- Make sure both service are on the ledger.
Steps
- Open "Service Codes" form.
- Click [Add] in 'Add New Or Edit Existing'. - Service Code 1
- Enter any value in 'New Service Code'.
- Enter any value in 'Service Code Definition'.
- Click any value in 'Service Required By'.
- Select any value from 'Type of Service' dropdown list.
- Select any value in 'Type of Fee'.
- Click [No] in' Is This Service An Intervention?'.
- Click any value in 'Designated Degree of Rounding'.
- Select any value from 'Group Code' dropdown list.
- Select any value from 'Covered Charge Category' dropdown list.
- Click [No] in 'Is This A Balance Forward Service Code'.

- Create a file that has a no missing required fields, and contains correct values for all fields, 'File 2'.
Steps
- Open 'File Import'.
- Select 'Prolonged Duration Configuration' in 'File Type'.
- Upload the file, selecting the desired file import item. For our test, we are using 'File 1' to show the error message.
- Compile the file and validate that an error message is received. For our test, we are validating that the Expiration Date, which is a required field, is missing.
- Delete the file.
- Select 'Prolonged Duration Configuration' in 'File Type',
- Upload the file with no missing data and contains correct values for all fields, 'File 2'.
- Compile and post the file.
- Close the form.
- Open 'Service Codes' and edit the 'Evaluation Management' primary service code from setup.
- Click [Prolonged Duration Configuration].
- Validate that the grid opens and contains the values that were submitted in ''File 2'.
- Close the form.
- If desired, open 'Registry Settings' and change the value of 'Enable Prolonged Duration Add-On Service Generation'.
- Submit and close the form.
- Retest file import, using a different service code for the primary service code and a new file.
- Review the service code [Prolonged Duration Configuration] grid for accuracy.
- Close the form.

- Validate that if the 'Enable Prolonged Duration Add-On Service Generation' is set to 'Y' that the tester is able to manually select the desired 'Add-On Service' and that an 'Add-On Service' was automatically created for each row that met the criteria in the 'Prolonged Duration Configuration'.
- Add desired additional add-on services.
- Validate that if the 'Enable Prolonged Duration Add-On Service Generation' is set to 'YR' that the tester is not able to manually select the desired 'Add-On Service' and that an 'Add-On Service' was automatically created for each row that met the criteria in the 'Prolonged Duration Configuration'.
- Submit the service and close the form.
- Open 'Edit Service Information' for the client and select the service create above.
- Validate that if the 'Enable Prolonged Duration Add-On Service Generation' is set to 'Y' that the tester is able to manually select the desired 'Add-On Service' and can add, edit or delete entries. Edit if desired.
- Validate that if the 'Enable Prolonged Duration Add-On Service Generation' is set to 'YR' that the tester is not able to manually select the desired 'Add-On Service' and cannot edit or delete the entry.
