Follow-Up reminders
Display follow-up reminders when administering an order.
- Follow-up reminders are based on the type of order (Routine, PRN, STAT, Other).
- To configure and use the follow-up reminder functionality, myAvatar eMAR 2007 Enhancement 30 (U-47) and myAvatar Order Entry 2011 Enhancement 30 (U-48) are required.
Setup
To configure follow-up reminders, use extended attributes for the Order Type dictionary (Avatar Order Entry) or specify values for order codes on the Order Code Setup form in myAvatar Order Entry.
Note: Information entered at the order code level will override information entered for the order type.
- In the Order Types dictionary (data element 500), set the following extended attributes:
- eMAR Follow-Up Reminders For These Types of Orders (Routine, PRN, STAT, Other) - The types of orders that will trigger a follow-up reminder.
- eMAR Follow-Up Reminder Default Interval (Minutes) - The number of minutes to wait before issuing a follow-up reminder.
- eMAR Follow-Up Reminder Heading - The heading to display for a follow-up reminder in the Order Description.
- On the Order Code Setup form:
- Select Yes in the eMAR Follow-Up Reminder field.
- For pharmacy orders, in the Suppress Follow-Up Reminders For These types of Orders field, select the types of orders that will not have follow-up reminders.
- In the eMAR Follow-Up Reminder Heading field, select a heading. (This value will override the value entered for the eMAR Follow-Up Reminder Heading extended attribute.)
