Administer multiple orders
Select multiple orders simultaneously for administration, either manually or using bar code scanning.

- Multiple selections are not permitted if an order in the selection requires Acknowledgement or Client Education.
Prerequisites:
- To scan bar code labels:
- Set up the bar code scanner.
- Set the Support Medication ID registry setting to 'Y' or 'R' or set the Enable Medication and Quantity Checking registry setting to '1' or '3' in order to include the Medication ID field on the Administration Event dialog box.
- Select the Enable Multiple Administration Selection check box.
- Use CTRL + click to select date cells across multiple orders.
OR
Using a bar code scanner, scan the bar code labels.
The Administer button displays the number of orders selected for administration. - Click the Administer button to open the Administration Event dialog. The Administration Event Details Section displays a grid that lists all the orders selected.
- In the grid, record the information that will vary from one order to the next, such as the quantity, unit, route, etc.
- In the fields below the grid, enter administration information that will apply to all of the orders listed in the grid. This information needs to be entered just once.
Note: For IV bar codes, the Med ID column is populated with the value "(IV-Barcode)", the Qty column defaults to '1', and the Unit column defaults to 'each'. - Select the Accept Administration Information Entered check box, then click OK.
