In-Clinic Labs - STD module

In the STD module, the In-Clinic Labs form is where you document lab tests that were performed at the STD clinic.

On the main menu click In-Clinic Labs.

Lab tests

  1. For the Lab Tests Ordered item at the top of the form, select Yes if applicable. 
  2. In the Lab Tests panel, select Yes for each lab test that was ordered.
    Note: If you select a lab test that has already been ordered for today's date, you'll receive a message indicating an order of this type has already been submitted and you're given the option to edit the lab test item. 
  3. Click Submit

Lab orders

To view lab order details, click a row in the Lab Orders grid to expand the entry. The details include the order date, test name, status, and person who placed the order.

Update a lab order

  1. In the Lab Orders grid, In the row for the result, click the pencil icon .
  2. Under Lab Test Information, in the Performed by box, click the arrow and select the staff member. You must make a selection before updating a lab order.
  3. Under Observations, in the Results box, click the arrow and select Positive or Negative
  4. In the Notes box, enter details about the observations.
  5. Click Update Entry.

Discontinue a lab order

  1. In the Lab Orders grid, in the row for the result, click the discontinue icon
  2. In the Discontinue By box, click the arrow and select the staff member who discontinued the order. You must make a selection before discontinuing the lab order.
  3. In the Discontinue Reason and Notes boxes, enter appropriate information.
  4. Click Discontinue.

Lab results

To view lab result details, click a row in the Lab Results grid to expand the entry, similar to the following example.

Update a lab result

  1. In the Lab Results grid, in the row for the result, click the pencil icon 
  2. Under Observations, in the Results box, click the arrow and select Positive or Negative
  3. In the Notes box, enter additional details about the observations.
  4. Click Update Entry.

Lab diagnosis

  1. In the Lab Diagnosis box below the Lab Results panel, click the arrow and select the diagnosis.
  2. On the toolbar above the menu, click the Save icon .
