HIV - Preliminary Positive
The Preliminary Positive form is where you record information on confirmatory testing for preliminary positive HIV test results.
From the main menu navigate to HIV > Prelim Pos.
Document confirmatory testing
- For the Confirmatory specimen obtained item, select Yes if a specimen was obtained. If Yes is selected, complete the following items.
- In the Confirmatory Specimen Obtained by box, click the arrow and select the staff member.
- In the OAIDS HIV Test Number box, enter the test number.
- In the Re-Enter OAIDS HIV Test Number box, reenter the test number from above to confirm the number is correct. The two numbers must match.
- For the Stressed importance of returning for confirmatory test results item, select Yes if the patient was advised.
- For the Patient Agrees OAIDS confirmatory specimen number matches OAIDS on specimen item, select Yes if the patient confirmed the number.
- If a confirmatory specimen wasn't obtained, under Reason Confirmatory Specimen Not Obtained, select the check box for each item that applies to the patient. If Other is selected, enter a description in the box provided.
- After responding to the Reason Confirmatory Specimen Not Obtained item, the TIR (testing incident report) completed item appears. Select Yes if the TIR was completed.
- In the Date of Confirmatory Test Result Appointment box, enter the date. Optionally click the previous and next arrows or click the calendar icon
to select a date.
- Under Partner Services, select the check box for each item that applies to the patient.
- Under Referrals Made, select the check box for each item that applies to the patient.
- In the Medical Provider panel, complete the following items.
- For the Consent obtained to contact medical provider item, select Yes if the patient consented.
- In the Provider Name box, enter the person's name.
- For the Crisis counseling needs assessed item, select Yes if the patient's needs were assessed.
- On the toolbar above the menu, click the Save icon
