Validate physician orders

Physician Order Validation is the myAvatar form you use to validate physician orders.

Note: The responsible practitioner is the practitioner to whom the order action that caused the order to require validation was attributed.
For the create order action, the responsible practitioner is the ordering practitioner; for other order actions the responsible practitioner is the reviewing practitioner.

Prerequisite:

• System Administrators indicate which practitioner (ordering or responsible, or both) should receive notifications for orders requiring validation using the Send Order Entry (Validation Required) Notifications to Practitioner registry setting.

1. ---

   Go to: Avatar Order Entry > Order Entry Client Information > Physician Order Validation.
2. In the Select Client screen, enter the client name or ID and select. Click Select.
3. Click Refresh List of Clients to reload the client list.
4. Optional: For the Filter By fields, select the responsible practitioner, ordering practitioner, unit, and/or program to use to filter the search results.
5. Click Select Orders To Validate to select orders that match the filter criteria.
6. On the Select Orders to Validate screen, select each order and click OK.
   Result: The Details of Selected Orders field displays information about the selected orders.
7. Click Validate Selected Orders Using Default Values to file the order validation.
