Integration with Avatar eMAR
Avatar Order Entry transmits client information and medication orders to myAvatar eMAR to be used in administering medications.
Settings in myAvatar Order Entry determine the following in myAvatar eMAR:
- which order types and treatment settings are handled
- whether and when follow-up reminders are sent to clinicians
- when a medication is a first dose
- whether a pain scale is associated with an order
- which background colors display in the eMAR screen for the designated order type
Information is transmitted between myAvatar Order Entry and myAvatar eMAR via the HL-7 integration. This integration enables myAvatar Order Entry to prevent eMAR from administering pharmacy orders that have not yet been verified by the pharmacy. myAvatar eMAR, in turn, supports sending To Do list notifications to the ordering practitioner when an order is rejected, canceled, or voided by the pharmacy, or if the pharmacy discontinues an order that is associated with an original order from myAvatar Order Entry that has not yet been discontinued.
Orders defined as one-time-only in myAvatar Order Entry (Frequency Code Setup) are discontinued automatically when a successful administration event is recorded in myAvatar eMAR.
