Health Care Services Review (278) Request

Process 278 request files to create service authorizations (viewed through the Service Authorization form).

• All requests will be considered as "initial" requests.

• All service authorizations created when a 278 request file is submitted will have a status of Pending.

Prerequisites:

• Default values must be entered in the Health Care Services Review (278) Defaults form, before 278 request inbound files can be loaded and compiled.

• The location to store 278 files (Billing Options field - Create File On Server), must be defined in the Set System Defaults form (Output Directory field).

1. In the Options field:

• Select Load File to load a health care services review (278) file into Avatar.

• Select Compile File to assemble 278 information into a file.

• Select Run Error Report to display a summary of errors encountered processing a health care services review 278 file.

• Select Dump File to generate a text file of the compiled file.

• Select Post File to submit a health care services review file to Avatar.

• Select Delete File to remove a health care services review file.

• Information in the file can be compiled again into another file.

2. In the File Path/Name field, enter the path and name of the file to be loaded.

3. In the Select File field, select the health care services review file.

4. Click Process.
