About microbiology results in Flowsheet
myAvatar Flowsheet displays microbiology results from myAvatar or an external lab information system. You cannot enter microbiology results directly in myAvatar Flowsheet.
Lab data displays in Flowsheet Microbiology collection if it meets at least one these conditions:
- Lab order code has the Microbiology field set as Yes within Order Code Setup
- External lab vendor sends the result data with diagnostic_service_value = Microbiology
Microbiology results display in the Microbiology collection and include the status. The microbiology status updates dynamically; the most recent status overlays the previous status with additional information. For example, a Wound Culture starts with 'Ordered' status and changes to 'Collected' status when the specimen is collected.
Microbiology statuses are:
- Ordered - details include the first name and last name and the scheduled collection date/time
- Collected - details include the first name and last name and the collection date/time
- Received - status sent by an external lab information system
- Recollect (lab specimen is rejected) - status sent by an external lab information system
- Not Collected/Cancelled - status sent by an external lab information system or by myAvatar eMAR
- Correction - status sent by an external lab information system
- Preliminary (Partial Result) - details include preliminary/partial results and the date/time
- Final - details include the result date/time
- Results entered in myAvatar display by first name and last name
- Results from an external lab information system may not include first name and last name
