National Drug Code Reporting - Cal-PM

Specify National Drug Code information for a service.

  • The National Drug Code (NDC) is a universal product drug identifier, that is used to identify a medication for clinical screening purposes.
  • The format is 'XXXXX-XXXX-XX'
  • Once services are claimed, the information is no longer viewable in the form. Since the service is now claimed, it is no longer eligible to be claimed again. However, you are able to query the table for the NDC information.

  1. Go to: Avatar PM > Services > Ancillary/Ambulatory Services
  2. In the Client ID field, enter the client name, select the Search button, and then the corresponding entry.
  3. In the Episode Number field, select the client episode.
  4. In the Service Start Date field, enter the first date of service.
  5. In the Service End Date field, enter the last date of service.
  6. In the Program field, select the client program.
  7. In the Practitioner field, enter the practitioner name, click the Search button, and select the corresponding entry.
  8. In the Service To Record Information For field, select the service.
    Note: When a particular service has been claimed, it will not show in this drop down for selection
  9. Select the Launch NDC Input button to display the National Drug Code Reporting screen.

Columns

Column Name Function
National Drug Code Enter the National Drug Code number, in the format 'XXXXX-XXXX-XX'.
Drug Unit Price Enter the unit price.
Quantity Enter the number of units given.
Units or Basis of Measurement Select the drug's unit of measure. Double click to bring up a list of values.
Prescription Number Enter the number.

Buttons

Column Name Function
New Row Create a new row.
Delete Row Delete the selected row.
Save Submit changes made in the screen.
Note: Save is enabled when all required information is entered.
Close/Cancel Close the screen without saving changes.
Copy/Paste  Select a row to copy or paste.
Copy Cell Select a cell to copy.
Paste Cell Select a cell to paste.
