Export Health Information Configuration

This form allows the user to map local Avatar-based codes to HL7 standard codes. These codes are available for export and inclusion in an HL7 transmission in the Export Health Information form.

When an HL7 is created in the Export Health Information form, the mappings defined in this form will be used.

Menu path

Avatar CWS > CWS Utilities > Export Health Information Configuration

  1. In the HL7 Segment/Field field, select the HL7 segment, or HL7 field.
  • The following fields retrieve information from myAvatar dictionaries. If any of these fields are selected the Source Value Set Code field will be enabled. Once a Source Value Set Code is selected, the Target Value Set Code field will allow the user to select a target set code.
  • Administrative Sex (PID-8) – 3
  • Admit Source (PV1-14) – 158
  • Admission Type (PV1-4) – 44
  • County/Parish Code (XAD-9) – 93
  • Ethnic Group (PID-22) – 8
  • Marital Status (PID-16) – 10
  • Patient Address – County (PID-11.9) – 93
  • Primary Language (PID-15) – 149
  • Race (PID-10) – 116
  • Religion (PID-17) – 9
  • The Target Value Set field is a read-only field that displays the HL7 target value set.
  • If an HL7 segment or field is selected that is not one of the above, the Source Value Set Code field will be enabled. This field allows a source value set code to be entered. Once a Source Value Set Code is selected, the Target Value Set Code field will allow the user to select a target set code.
  • If an observation value is selected - Observation Identifier (OBX-3): the Source Value Set Code field is enabled and will allow the user to enter a source value set code.
The Target LOINC Code field will be enabled and will allow the user to enter a LOINC code for mapping.
  • If an observation value is selected - Observation Value (OBX-5): the Source Value Set Code field is enabled and will allow the user to enter a source value set code.
The Target SNOMED Code field will be enabled and will allow the user to enter a SNOMED code for mapping.
  1. When finished, click Submit.

Once this form is filed, any segment or field that has been defined to be mapped, will have the Target Value Set Code used on the HL7 in place of the Source Value Set Code.
