Define allergens and hypersensitivities
Define known and suspected allergens for a client.
- When clinical screening is enabled, this information is used to check for potential allergic reactions to medications, and for Contraindications.
Prerequisites:
- Allergies must be defined in the Allergen/Reactant Code Setup form.
- Go to: Avatar CWS > Other Chart Entry > Allergies and Hypersensitivities
- In the Select Client screen enter the client name, click Select Client. Click Ok.
- In the Include Allergies on Report field, select the appropriate allergy status to include in the report: Active, Inactive, or Both.
- Click Display to generate the Client Allergies / Hypersensitivities report, which details allergy and hypersensitivity client information, as well as allergy review information (if appropriate).
- In the Allergies/Hypersensitivities Reviewed field, select Yes to display the time, date, and user who entered the information, in the Client Allergies / Hypersensitivities report.
- Click Update to display the Allergies and Hypersensitivities screen.
- In the Known Medication Allergies field:
- Yes indicates there are active allergies associated with medication allergies.
- No indicates no active allergies are associated with medication.
Note: For systems with OrderConnect, this will pass a No Known Drug Allergies (NKDA) indicator to OrderConnect.
- Click Submit.
