Dispense Locking Maintenance

When a client is accessed within the Fast Dose Dispensing form the application locks that record so that no other user can dispense medication to that client.

It will display and error that looks something like this:

"Option is not allowed. SYSADM is in option Medication Order for this client."

For instance, if a staff member accesses a client within the Fast Dose Dispensing form and then is called away from their station. Another user may need to unlock Dispensing in order to access and dispense medication to the client. A record may also lock if a user loses connectivity due to a power outage or some other connection issue. 

If this happens, you can unlock the patient using the Dispense Locking Maintenance form.

Unlocking a patient chart

  1. Navigate to the form.
  2. Use the Select Lock drop-down list to find the patient that is locked.
  3. Click the clear lock button.

When you receive the notification pop up that the Lock Cleared, you will be able to access the patient under Fast Dose Dispensing again.
