Authorization Group Definition

Define authorization groups for selected service codes.

Prerequisites:

  1. Go to Avatar PM > System Maintenance > System Definition > Authorization Group Definition.
  2. In the Add, Edit, Delete field, select whether to Add a new group definition, Edit an existing one, or Delete a group definition entirely.
    • If you select Edit or Delete, select the existing group from the Authorization Group drop-down list.
  3. In the Authorization Group Name field, enter a new name for the group, or edit an existing one.
  4. In the Status field, select whether the group definition should be Active or Inactive. 
    • The system defaults to Active when Add is selected.
    • If Inactive is chosen, the Authorization Group will no longer be available for selection.
  5. The Authorization Group Information field displays any existing service codes and dates for the authorization group.
  6. In the Select Row to Edit field, select the number of an existing row to edit, update, or delete.
  7. In the Effective Date field, set the start date for the service code authorization.
  8. In the Expiration Date field, enter the expiration date for the authorization.
  9. In the Service Code(s) field, select the service code or codes to authorize for the group.
  10. Select the Update button to add a row, or record edits to an existing row.
  11. Use the Delete button to remove the selected row.
  12. Select the File Authorization Group button to record any changes.
