Description:

In the document editor, when a provider hits the suggest charge button, the system does not suggest the charges. This stems from the treatment section of documentation when a CPT code or treatment has been deleted, but they are still visible in the treatment screen of documentation. When a CPT code or treatment have been deleted, the CPT code column of the treatment grid will have a blank value.

Applies To:

TheraOffice On-Site, TheraOffice Web

Steps:

1. In the document editor, navigate to the Charges section.

2. Press Suggest Charges. This will not yield any results.

3. To troubleshoot this, navigate back to the treatment section grid and find any treatments that have a blank CPT value in the CPT Column.

4. If the CPT value is blank, then check the following:

  • Navigate to the Backstage Menu- Manage- CPT Codes- Search the code. If the code does not exist in the search, then this is likely the cause of the issue. To fix this, the user can add the CPT back in or attach a new CPT code to the treatment.
  • Navigate to the Backstage Menu- Documentation- Treatments- Search the treatment. If the treatment does not exist, add it back in if they would like to continue using it.
  • Sometimes the treatment with the blank column is outdated, and the clinic has created a more relevant treatment. If this is the case, then the treatment with the blank value can be deleted, and the relevant treatment can be added in.

5. Once the CPT code is linked properly to the treatment, then try to suggest the charges again.
