Downloading A Word List

1. There are a few open source dictionaries on the internet. A free open source medical dictionary can be downloaded from:http://rajn.co/free-medical-spell-checker-for-microsoft-word-custom-dictionary/
2. To download, first scroll down the page and click on the link that says "Download Raj&Co-Med-Spel-Chek.zip and save it to your desktop". Save this file to your desktop.
3. Next, open Windows Explorer and navigate to the location where you saved the zip file.
4. Right click on the Raj&Co-Med-Spel-Chek.zip file and select Extract All. Follow the wizard prompts.
5. Once decompressed open up the Notepad application from the Start menu.
6. Next, drag theRaj&Co-MedSpelChek.dic over Notepad to have it open the file.

Updating The Custom Spell Check Dictionary

1. Next, open another instance of Notepad from the Start menu.
2. Click File, then Open from Notepad.
3. Navigate to your TheraOffice folder which is typically located in:C:\Program Files (x86)\Hands On Technology Inc\TheraOffice or C:\Program Files\Hands On Technology Inc\TheraOffice.
4. Locate the file namedCustomEnglish.dic anddouble click on the file.
5. go back to the instance of Notepad that contains theRaj&Co-MedSpelChek.dic and pressCTRL A then CTRL C to copy the entire contents of the file.
6. Next, go back to the instance of Notepad that is editing theCustomEnglish.dic file and then paste the list by pressingCTRL V.
7. If there are other words that you would like to add or edit in this list, then it can be done now.
8. When complete, save the file by pressing ALT F then S.
9. Close TheraOffice and then re-open TheraOffice and the next time you run Spell Check it will use the list of words from the custom dictionary along with the normal words list.

Sharing The Custom Dictionary With Other Computers

If you would like to share this custom dictionary with another computer that has TheraOffice installed on it, then follow the below steps. NOTE: Dictionaries are saved locally - they aren't loaded from the central TheraOffice Database.

1. Copy theCustomEnglish.dic file from the source computer to a file share, flash drive, or it can be emailed. (It shouldn't contain any PHI) to the target computer.
2. On the target computer, save theCustomEnglish.dic file toC:\Program Files (x86)\Hands On Technology Inc\TheraOffice or C:\Program Files\Hands On Technology Inc\TheraOffice.
3. When saving, please overwrite the existing file.
