Register a TIER Database
Overview
Register a database within TIER and repair logins.
Steps
- Log in to TIER using the BYPASS username and password.
- In the left panel, right-click the top system icon and select Register System.

- The Register system window will open. In the System Name (Local) field, enter the system name, then click the Database button. This name is the one that will appear in TIER and can be whatever value you want.

- The database window will open. In the Server Name field, enter the SQL Server Name. For your laptop it is 127.0.0.1.
- In the Database Name field, enter the database name. This is the database name in SQL.
- In the Server Login field, enter the login.
- In the Password and Confirm fields, enter the TIER user password.

- Click OK to return to the Register System window. Click the Register button.

- The TIER window appears. In the left panel, double-click the newly registered database.
- In the Login window, enter the BYPASS username and password. Click OK.

- In the TIER Treeview, expand the database and select Databases, then right-click main and select Properties.

- The Database window will open. Confirm that the Server Name, Database Name, Server Login, and Server Password are the same as in steps 4-7 above. Click OK to return to the treeview.

- In the treeview, right-click Configuration and select Properties.

- The System Configuration window will open. Make sure the System Administrator login password and confirmation is the SA password for your SQL Server. Click OK to return to the treeview.

- In the treeview, right-click on Groups and Users and select Server Logins.

- The Administer Server Logins widow will open. Select the Test Connections and Fix Connections check boxes and click Scan.

- The scan will repair or create all users and passwords associated with this database in the SQL Server. When the scan is complete, click Close to return to the tree view.
- Log out of TIER. You should now be able to log into the TIER registration using the normal logins.
