Redisplay Form Designer Windows
Overview
In the TIER Form Designer, redisplay an Object window that no longer appears on the screen.
Details
There are three main components that make up the TIER Form Designer: TIER Component Palette, Object Inspector, and Form Design Window. Two other windows, Alignment Palette and View as Text, are optional windows to aid in design when needed.

If you are new to the TIER Form Designer you may have come across an issue where one of these three Object windows is suddenly missing. This can happen for multiple reasons: the window is displaying on a secondary monitor, the window was accidentally closed by clicking the X in the top right corner, or the Form Designer was minimized and not all of the windows were brought back up again.
This problem can be easily solved by performing one of the following actions.
- When minimizing the Form Designer and bringing it back up again, double-click on the first minimized window. The TIER Component Palette and all three windows will display again as they were. (If you double-click on one of the other two windows, this will only bring up the window you clicked on.)
- If one of the Object windows was accidentally closed, at the top of the TIER Component Palette select View to display the appropriate control again. If the TIER Component Palette is the window that is missing, use the function keys in the following table to display these instead.
| Function Key | Object Window |
|---|---|
| F10 | TIER Comoponent Palette |
| F11 | Object Inspector |
| F12 | Form Design Window |
- If using the function key doesn’t display the window again, you can assume the window is displayed off of the monitor. To move an Object window so it is visible again, connect to a second monitor and then move the Object window back to the main monitor before exiting the TIER Form Designer. If a second monitor is not available, press the appropriate function key to put the focus on the appropriate window even though you can’t see the window, and then use the Microsoft Windows keyboard commands to move the window around (Alt + Space + M). Once the single arrow changes to a four-arrow cross, use the up, down, left, and right arrow keys to move the window to where you want it to appear.
