Define custom accrual accounting periods

  1. Go to Administration>Configuration>Accrual Accounting Period Definition.
  2. In the left section of the window, add a new row.
  3. Select the Custom Period radio button.
  4. Enter the start date of the accounting year in the top of the right section. The year start date for the custom period may be any date in the year but there should not be any gaps or overlaps with the dates of the previous accounting years.
  5. In the Periods grid, add a new row for the first period. The Start Date column is automatically set to the date entered as the year start date.
  6. Enter the end date for the period.
  7. If necessary, repeat steps 5 and 6 to add further periods in your accounting year. You can add as many periods as you need but without gaps and overlaps in dates.
  8. Save your changes. Accounting periods will start generating based on your settings (for more information, see Generation of accrual accounting periods).
