Shifts - custom and irregular

In the Schedule component, you can define a resource's availability for patient visits and scheduled activities as standard, custom or irregular shifts.

• Standard shifts are set customary working times defined by the home health agency or hospice and apply to many resources within the agency.
• Custom shifts have start and end times that fall outside the standard shift,
• Irregular shifts vary working days and times from week to week.

You define custom and irregular shifts for resources on an individual basis. Like standard shifts, custom shifts automatically carry forward within the Schedule component from week to week, while irregular shifts must be created for every week.

Note: Do not enter vacation on a resource's schedule by defining a custom or irregular shift. Enter vacation on the main schedule as an activity.
