Provide final signature to HIS forms

Path: Patient > Documents > Hospice Item Set

Prerequisite: To provide the final signature to a HIS form, you must be granted appropriate privileges by the Netsmart Homecare administrator.

After the HIS form is complete, with the exception of Z0500, the form is signed, and no validation errors occur, you can add the final signature to verify that the form is ready for export. After you provide the verification signature, the form becomes uneditable.

To provide the final signature to the HIS form, complete the following steps:

  1. Select a patient, and go to Patient > Documents > Hospice Item Set.
  2. Verify that the form is complete and accurate, and either click the ellipsis button (...) in the Details column or double-click the HIS form record.
  3. Provide the final signature:
    1. If you are creating this form
      1. In field Z0500 (Signature of Person Verifying Record Completion), click Sign and Ready to Export. If the form does not contain fatal errors, the Electronic Signature window appears. Otherwise, the HIS Validation window appears with information about the errors that must be corrected.
      2. In the Electronic Signature window, enter the operator's login password. The HIS form's status changes to Ready to Export, and the form becomes uneditable. You can see the signatures of the people who have created and modified the form on the Define tab.
    2. If you are modifying this form
      1. In field Z0500 (Signature of Person Verifying Record Completion), click Ready to Export.
      2. In the Electronic Signature window, enter the operator's login password.
      3. Note: If you modify or deactivate the form, it retains the signature of the person who first verified the document (in Z0500A) and the date and time of that signature (in Z0500B).
  4. Click the Preview tab to view the completed and signed form and save it in PDF format. After a HIS form is signed, it can be exported in Transactions > General > HIS Export.
