Physician Portal
Physician Portal Overview
Physician Portal is a web-based application separate from the Netsmart Homecare application. On Physician Portal, you can view patients assigned to you or to your group practice, review clinical reports, review patients' open documents (orders, Certifications of Terminal Illness (CTI), face-to-face documents) if any, make changes, and sign these documents online.
Physician Portal contains the following tabs.
|

For each document, you can view the patient's name with the master ID in parentheses, date of birth, type and date of the document, patient class, and physician's name. Use this tab to select documents for review. If a document stays over a certain period of time or is reviewed and added for signature, the corresponding icons are displayed. |

Note: Before signing documents from the Physician Portal, ensure that the resource is configured in the Netsmart Homecare application to include a valid entry in the Suffix/Professional Title box on Resource > Basic. Configuring this setting properly ensures that the signature is captured correctly. For more information, see the Resource > Basic section in the Help, under Resource > General.
Correcting Physician Portal Rejected Orders
The orders rejected via Physician Portal appear in the Order Run to which they were linked in the Netsmart Homecare application. Rejected orders receive the status "X" and are locked from editing for historical purposes. A new identical order with the new ID number is generated instead of the rejected order. You need to correct and approve this new order.
To correct a rejected order:
|
1. |
Log in to Netsmart Homecare. |
|
2. |
Generate the Orders Audit report for the rejected orders and, if needed, specify other criteria. |
The generated report shows the information on the rejected orders.
|
3. |
Based on the reason you see on the report, make the appropriate corrections in clinical, patient, payer, or other information. |
|
4. |
Link the corrected order to an Order Run. |
|
5. |
Review and approve the order. |
The order is available for signature on Physician Portal.
