Enter medications for patient

Path: Patient>Clinical>Medications

Note: When you change an existing medication or add a new medication, a supplemental order is generated in the HCFA-485 form. If the HCFA-485 form is not created yet, the medication will be included in that form when it is generated. This only applies if the patient's insurance requires HCFA-485 and is set up to generate it.

  1. In the Patient component, select a patient.
  2. Go to Clinical>Medications.
  3. Add a row to enter a new medication. Note: Sorting by columns is reset to default (by sequence of adding) each time you add or insert a new medication.
  4. In the Medication field, click the ellipsis icon and select the medication you want to add. The Medication Entry Dialog appears.
  5. Complete the fields as appropriate.
  6. Click OK. The Medications window appears.
  7. Complete the fields in the grid line as appropriate.
  8. Save your changes.
