Assessment Warehouse
About Assessment Warehouse
With the Assessment Warehouse, you can customize your assessment templates. To make the process more efficient, we recommend that you run the Assessment Warehouse utility before customizing your templates. If you have not run this utility before, we recommend that you run it over the weekend because it may take more than 24 hours depending on the number of assessments to process.
If you have already run the warehouse utility, when you edit and save the templates, the new or changed verbiage is added into the database for accurate history and queries.
Netsmart Homecare uses the Assessment Warehouse to report on assessment data through the Query component. The Assessment Warehouse retrieves data from assessments at regular intervals and stores pointers in the PTC_ASSESSMENT_ANSWER table. The interval is set from the File menu in the executable after you start it (File>Settings>Assessment Warehousing Interval). The pointers refer to a list of assessment questions and answers in the following tables:
To use this feature, you must complete the setup and design a query to retrieve the data you need (for more information, refer to Assessment Warehouse Setup Workflow).
Homecare will store assessment data using the Assessment Warehouse and you can generate reports on assessment data through the Query component (to run the assessment queries, see Assessment Warehouse Workflow).
In addition to the query feature, when you load 6.0 assessment templates and select the Data History check box in the Assessments window, the history of all answers to specific assessment questions is shown. The history appears when you use the 6.0 assessment templates, regardless of the discipline or type of assessment. The history for the OASIS assessment questions is shown if the Show History check box is selected in Administration>Configuration>Business Units>Settings>Assessments.
Assessment Warehouse Setup Workflow
After loading and importing the assessment templates, you must run the Assessment Warehouse executable.
Your system administrator should complete the following steps:
|
1. |
Go to X\Program Files\Allscripts Homecare\Server\Templates folder (where X is the server drive). |
|
2. |
On the initial use, the Assessment Warehouse Start Date dialog opens.
|
• |
If the date is not specified, all assessments will be processed. |
|
• |
If the date has been already specified, you can go to File>Settings and change it in the Assessment Warehousing Date field. |
|
4. |
The warehouse interval time is set to 5 minutes – this is how frequently the warehouse looks for newly added assessments and processes them. You may change the time if needed.
|
5. |
In the HomecareServer.ini field, click the ellipsis and then locate the MHCServer.ini file and select it. |
|
6. |
Click OK to save the changes. |
You may leave it running in the background or stop and restart when needed. If you run assessment queries, you should run this over every weekend.
To set up the Assessment Warehouse to run automatically at a recurring frequency, do the following:

Generate your query by designing the report, adding this view, and applying search criteria on one or more of these fields:
|
> |
# question text, the individual assessment questions such as HHA Supervision/Home Health Aide Supervision |
|
> |
# answer text, which represents responses to assessment questions. |
Homecare has included a standard SQL view, VW_ASSESSMENT_DATA, to use as a starting point for Assessment queries.
