Add new Resource
Path: Resource>File>New Resource
- To add a new resource, go to Resource>File>New Resource or click the new button.
- In the New Resource window, complete the Sex, Last, First, Middle, and Resource Type fields, and then click OK.
- Note: If the selected resource type is of the higher security level than you are allowed to access (the corresponding privileges are not granted), you will not be able to view this resource's file after saving your changes and reopening the Resource component.
- Specify the Address, City, State, and ZIP code.
- Save your changes or proceed with the step 5 to add more personal resource information.
- Add the Status and Status Date information.
- Enter the SSN (Social Security Number).
- Enter the UPIN (Unique Physician Identification Number).
- The UPIN, Individual NPI fields, and the Group NPI Number(s) check box become available based on the Required Clinician NPI setting in Administration>General>Resource Type.
- Add the NPI (Individual National Provider Identification) number for the physician.
- Select the Group NPI Number(s) check box to add group NPI number (set up in Administration>General>Group NPI Table) for the physician.
- Complete the PECOS Enrolled and the As of Date fields to indicate whether this resource has an individual NPI number registered in the PECOS database.

- If these fields are not editable, then either you do not have the Can Edit PECOS Enrollment privilege assigned or this resource type does not require enrollment, or both.
- If the resource type requires PECOS enrollment and you do not have the edit privilege, then the PECOS Enrollment field is automatically completed with the No value and the As of Date field with the current date.
- Click OK.
