Supplies Window

Transactions>General>Supplies

With the Supplies window, your agency can enter supplies that are dispensed to the patient, without regard to the employee dispensing them. This window is primarily used to record supplies that are not entered through Service Entry/TimeLog – that is, supplies that are entered without being associated with an employee. If your agency prefers to associate an employee with dispensed supplies, Allscripts recommends that you enter supplies through the TimeLog window. (In TimeLog, the employee must be authorized to dispense supplies.)

The Patient Supplies window tracks the necessary information for dispensing supplies to patients such as the date the supply was provided, the service code, the supply code, description, quantity, lot number and cost.

Enter Supplies for a Patient Using the Supplies Window

1.

Go to Transactions>General>Supplies.

2.

Select the patient associated with this supply.

3.

Enter the date, service, insurance, supply code, and quantity associated with this supply.

4.

Click Save.

Edit Supplies for a Patient Using the Supplies Window

1.

Go to Transactions>General>Supplies.

2.

Select the patient for whom you want to edit a supply.

3.

Select the supply you want to edit.

4.

Make changes as appropriate to the date, service, insurance, supply code, and quantity associated with this supply

5.

Click Save.
