Patient Signature Capture Wizard
About the Patient Signature Capture Wizard
The Patient Signature Capture Wizard enables you to capture a patient's signature image for a visit, or to document the reasons why a patient did not sign on the visit. The wizard can be accessed via the New/Edit Eventwindow in Schedule, or via Transactions>General>TimeLog.
The Patient Signature Capture Wizard guides you through a series of screens where you select which signature purpose to apply to the patient signature, whether the patient or an alternate is signing, and signature type is to be entered. Your progress through the wizard is tracked in the tree view on the left side of the screen. The final screen of the wizard includes the area where the patient or alternate will sign, either using a stylus on a tablet device or with a mouse. If you are unable to obtain a signature, you enter it in the wizard as well, along with a reason.
Signatures captured in the Patient Signature Capture Wizard can be retrieved by clicking the View Signature button in the New/Edit Event window in Schedule or in Transactions>General>TimeLog. In addition, Patient>Documents>Patient Signature enables you to retrieve signatures for a selected patient within a specified date range. For Field Mode users, signature images can be retrieved from the field device until they are synched to the host.
