About hospice vaccine billing

CR 9052, with an effective date of 10/01/2016, allows Hospice agencies to bill for vaccines on a UB-04 claim with a TOB of 081x or 082x. Billing considerations for these vaccines are as follows:

• Cannot be billed on the same claim as the hospice services
• Configure a Medicare Fee-for-Service (FFS) Insurance Code
  • Revenue code 0771 has to be used
  • The TOB must be set to 081x or 82x
• The vaccines are configured and billed as supplies
• The Medicare FFS insurance is defined as an eligible payer for the patient
